I honestly can count on one hand how many disrespectful players I've seen on any team in the last 5 years. And it's just not a thing in our top kids. We have 3 state players in our local competition and every single one is all smiles the whole game. While not playing on the state team, they are they all try to build up the weaker players and are smiles the entire time. None would dare talk back to an umpire! The only time you realise they are state players is when they play against each other. Those are fun games.
But I'm not surprised. Working in the USA for 5 years I went to a lot of youth bball games to watch my friend's kid. The coaches and the parents were just... something else. Cheering the kid who scored 30 points in a game but never passed to the other kids. Coaches just saying, "Pass it to Leon." Leon being so tall no-one could defend him. Zone defense in under 10s and running 'plays.' Instructions to rile up other players.

Overly impressed with their own self-unimportance. Maybe it’s time to put a moratorium on sports until we can remember what the true purpose is supposed to be. Too much money and too much attention.

Both my daughters played AAU, club,CYO,High School and one currently plays in college, the other one had enough after high school and doesn’t play in college. The bullshit I’ve seen in the last 15 years is unbelievable. The kids today think it’s D-1 or bust, and their parents think it’s a given. I am so glad to be done with this crap. All sports today are a mess.

Now my son if he got pushed and taunted he would not like it and would probably give them the smoke but i try him to avoid it he’s only 12 but can deadlift 200 pounds that’s why I tell him he is bigger than others and stronger and he could seriously give them injurys

As a referee, blame the higher upside that assign games.
Told controlling the game means letting stuff go if you want to move up and do higher level games.
Watched games go totally out of control because stuff is let go.
    But, they're praised.
Watch Premier league. So much crap is allowed. Fake injuries. Interfering the keepers putting the ball in play. 10 yard free kicks distance abused every single time. Throw ins are 19 yds off of place.
Be a bad ref, get promoted.
Be a good ref, get held back.
Let them play means let it all go.
