I'd say that the true value of the Vita is in its form factor; no other handheld quite comes close, as anything smaller than it tends to be extremely low power, capable of only things the Vita itself can do, and anything equal to it tends to be just too bulky to fit into a pocket, which is a huge point for me. While software wise I would argue an android, or ideally linux handheld is about on par with the Vita (particularly if you know how to get Box86/64 working to play lower end PC titles on the go), it really does hold a class of its own with the polish that you can just feel when you hold it.
Yeah, I'd love a new Vita model, as well. Stuff like the rear touchpad isn't truly necessary, though. Just have R2/L2 and R3/L3 buttons instead. I use a grip case for my Vita that adds in the extra buttons, which is definitely better for the games that call for that... also for remote play to the PS4, which I actually still use reasonably often.

I just picked up a great condition Vita 1000 yesterday for $120, came with the official charging cradle and a grip. I didn’t consider a RP3+ but was considering RP2S and RG405M. This was a great comparison of the Vita and RP3+, perhaps it was something I should have considered more because of the 16:9 which lends well for PSP but I really do like the OLED and premium feeling of the Vita for sure. Another good one to consider would be the RG505. I have a Modded Switch OLED and a ROG Ally so I am covered on the bigger emulation needs, just wanted a small pocketable device to play up to PSP/SNES/PS1.
I have four Vitas (including White and Red Japaneses OLEDS). I got one modded mainly to play Vita games I couldn't find or afford physically. Retroarch is good too, but I love Vita era games.

I can boot up some Cyberpunk or Red Dead 2 before I knock out at night and it works flawlessly. You do need really good internet though... But the PSVITA is incredible. Keep in mind, there is a plugin made for Remote Play that makes EVERY game use the default button mapping (standard L1/R1/L2/R2/L3/R3) that works especially well when you have the outer shell addon that includes extra shoulder buttons. When I’m playing RE2 on my PS Vita I set up the controls to hold L to pull up the gun and then I press R to fire the gun like a modern controls scheme!! And then I make it to where you can run with the D pad or the analog stick! It works perfectly and it makes resident evil the originals feel more modern
@@joeyxl3456 so when you hold the PlayStation button, you can go into official settings for the PS Vita and then from there go to custom button mapping. I forget what it’s called? But you’ll see it on there- All you have to do from that point is a sign the button that you normally hold to bring up the gun which I think is R1 by default, and then the button to shoot which I think is X by default, assign R1 to L1 and then assign X to R1 and then whenever you press, the L shoulder button, the character will bring up the gun, and then you can shoot with R!! This works amazingly for other games like fear effect and metal gear, solid and silent Hill when you want to get a better way of playing the game !! For example: On the PS4 pro and the Xbox one X I have the original resident evil remake and I make it to where I can run with R2 or the right trigger and then all I have to do is steer the character with the pad or the joystick! Vita: Will play all PS1 games perfectly (basically has the hardware to run PS1 games as intended). Does not play PS2 games. Hacking a Vita gives you potential access to a huge library of Vita games. 1000 model has a beautiful OLED screen. When hacked it can emulate games up to N64 but not all of its library perfectly. RP3+: Will emulate all PS1 games with higher resolutions and widescreen hack support. Will emulate a large amount of PS2 games decently (refer to a compatibilty sheet to see what does and doesn't play). Can emulate a handful of Vita games but the Vita emulator still needs a lot of work, but do not expect the RP3+ to be a Vita machine, it just doesn't have the power. RP3+ can emulate consoles up to the PS2, can play a decent amount of Gamecube and some Wii, and even 3DS with Citra MMJ.
Thinking to sell my Oled one because i don't use it and the more time goes the more the Oled screen degrades but i am gonna keep the games because i have some games that are sealed and have gone up in prices and i also gonna keep both my ps vita tv's...but i still just thinking about it, have not decide it yet

Essentially people rewrite/rebuild games to be played on the specific system. For example with Sonic Mania, it wasn't released for the Vita or any console the Vita can emulate, but some dedicated people have modified the PC version to be able to run, as if it was a natural Vita release. Another example would be the Super Mario 64 port, it runs independently instead of running inside an N64 emulator.

Thanks for the review. I thinking buy one for 100 bucks. Likd new. One cuestion.. how capacity micro sd card vita support? With microsd adpter of course..
Hmm I'm not absolutely sure. With an SD2Vita adaptor you should be safe to use up to 1TB, as long as it's a good one.
Vita if realis on 2016-17 same year with switch i think good but 2011 its to early 😅
I just paid £106 for the OLED vita in the box!!!
Nice! I hope it's in good condition 😊
or a steam deck
if only there’s a way ps2 emulator can run on the psvita that would be great, too many games to play…but i know for now the only way is some kind of ports for android games and older pc games that can run on ps vita….we have to wait for the psvita emulator for android then we will have to many emulators/games to play on android
sadly it's Impossible...But That Would Be Awesome Ngl
Whats better a psvita modded or retroid pocket 3 plus. Especially for playing just playstation 1,2 and vita games
How do you download TV shows and movies on the vita now that the video section of the store is gone.
if you jailbreak a vita, will that remove the feature to play online games with others?
I have both Ps Vita and other Chinese consoles, ps Vita is by far superior
Thinking to sell my Oled one because i don't use it and the more time goes the more the Oled screen degrades but i am gonna keep the games because i have some games that are sealed and have gone up in prices and i also gonna keep both my ps vita tv's...but i still just thinking about it, have not decide it yet
I heard the oled on the vitas are great
@@askariboy4857 it is but because of that organic material in a oled panel its degrades over time, but do not worry if you want one buy it and enjoy, the vita is a great handheld especially now after it can be easily hacked.
@@OneMore1UP do you know if that organic material you speak of degrades simply over time or USE? I ask because I’m thinking of buying a brand new oled vita. But if the screen degrades over time without use then screw that
@@askariboy4857 I think it degrades over usage because I have the original VITA OLED model, the screen still looks brand new , super sharp and bright as of today (I purchased the VITA but the play time is definitely less than 7 FULL days lol ) . I always end up playing my PC at home most of the time. If the OLED VITA is nearly brand new or play time was not much, then i think its worth to buy i t.
The Vita was made for baby hands that’s why it failed. PSP had much more ergonomic controls. Also there’s no Tekken for the Vita.
Except for that analog "stick" which should never see the light of day again.
It has really bad ergonomics because of the analogue stick placement,I can only play it for about an hour before it's killing my thumbs
How do you stretch out the screen?
How easy is to download ps vita games on it?
Vita theme name?
Ps vita cost 120 dollar for a really good one with bwrely no scratches
Do someone know how to install DBZ shin budokai on a modded Ps vita pls luv this game so much I can’t find it on pkgj.. 🙏🏽🔥😤
It can play all psp games
can you do a nintendo 64 guide in retroid pocket 3
I have one for the Odin which is basically the exact same as what I'd do for the RP3, that's the only reason I haven't done one specifically for the RP3 yet ua-cam.com/video/rY4EdRK20FU/v-deo.html
@@-roetaka ok thanks
Osdin sphere isnt on switch
What’s the name of the console at 11:00 minutes?
It's the AYN Odin Pro, I've done a lot of videos on it.
20:00
Links for the devices on display?
Retroid pocket 3+
AYN Odin
Not the links but the names
Modded ps vita does it have all the wwe games svr
What's the limited amount of games one can install on a modded vita?
Til you run out of space. 128gb is fairly enough but if you like to hoard ps1, psp, along with other psv games then 256gb is to go. Beyond that is a bit overkill
Thank you
Link to buy
just so you know psp are 80-100 bucks and vitas are 160-220 bucks Youll never get a good working one for less
I just bought an oled one, like new with its box and accessories and official Sony card of 110...
Yeah I'm looking at several on ebay right now in somewhat decent condition for £80-90
got a gundam breaker vita slim for 86.20, worked perfectly. it's definitely possible if you look
A game store in my area was selling them for about 50 a few years ago.
Paid $200 for a 1000 model that came with the memory card and case in perfect condition
Actually it’s worth unmodded as it is nice hobby to collect boxes and buying legal stuff as e store is still open.
meh, physical vita games are getting expensive, digital vita games u can just download for free without any downsides, u can even play online, so i dont see the reason for buying them
How can i play ps2 games on vita
The Vita does not have the power to emulate PS2.
can you play ps2 games on the vita ?
Nope
What is a port?
Essentially people rewrite/rebuild games to be played on the specific system. For example with Sonic Mania, it wasn't released for the Vita or any console the Vita can emulate, but some dedicated people have modified the PC version to be able to run, as if it was a natural Vita release. Another example would be the Super Mario 64 port, it runs independently instead of running inside an N64 emulator.
Yawn*
No, naw.....
A PSP is though, it actually has games and a ton of then
PSVita has PSP, though
Checkmate..
Also the Vita is brighter but the colors are way more washed out on the screen.
Crazy if anyone thinks that a PSP or PSVita is worth it over a RP3+. Can't even run SNES full speed.....
Naw my dude my modded PsVita runs snes normally speed like the super Nintendo system. Nes games,sega,16bit graxsystem games an tons of Japanese games an systems. Guess it depends on the modded software.
@@takethebluepillnottheredpi584 Dreamcast, PS2, GameCube, Saturn. Do you want me to keep going?
@@Flyingboots1 That would be the AYN ODIN, RP3 can run those 4 systems you mentioned but NOT all is gonna be 100% speed
