Just glad to hear more from a McAloon. So sad that Paddy is hidden away and there doesn’t seem to be any prospect of hearing anything new. Femme Mythologique was supposed to be a few years ago, but due to a technical mishap it hasn’t been produced. Such a shame because there are plenty of us who are waiting for more. I hope somehow Paddy’s work that is unreleased will see the light of day and that Paddy can get the health and inspiration to set to it. Bless Martin for keeping the spirit alive.
Had the pleasure and privilege of chatting to Martin last night after the Docks Academy gig; a truly genuine and friendly person, generous with his time and generous of spirit. Thank you for a great evening Martin.
....great interview, I remember rubbing shoulders with these guys back in the 80s when I was doing a lot of stuff with Tyne Tees TV...such great songs, I would love to have seen them live ❤
Ooh what a treat. This was another wonderful conversation. Many thanks. Huge fan of their work, mainly because of Paddy’s incredibly melodic and intriguing songs. Though the music sounded so new and unique, it was also a continuation of what the great songwriters of previous decades had done.
Martin is a great guy, humble and intelligent. I have been a huge Prefab fan for 30+ years and only now I'm getting to know him better! I'm glad he's getting his moment in the spotlight, he deserves it (and I'm one who thinks his brother Paddy is God 😅) Great interview, thanks for this!
Great vid and lovely to hear what’s going on with both the brothers , it took me back when Martin mentioned playing a guitar was like a dart board , I lived in Witton Gilbert in the early to mid 80’s and played darts in the Glendinning arms just down the road from there family garage , I got married in St Micheal and all angels church in the village to a local girl, fond memories, now living in the Cotswolds, many thanks 👍
I remember that Roundtable thing Martin talks about - Elvis Costello was on the panel and he slagged off the song, saying it sounded like Crosby, Stills & Nash. It's always stuck in my mind cos EC was someone I liked and I thought he'd have recognised a good song when he heard one. I think he hadn't quite come out of his abrasive punk-y persona and felt it was his duty to be negative about everyone.

@@AT-KINSON-MUSIC you can still see Martin! Thx for the comment
The genes are strong. I didn't think Paddy or Martin looked much alike when they were young. Can hardly tell them apart now.
