  • The Tinnitus Drifter is part of the noise masking series focused between 12.5 kHz and 13.5 kHz shifting between these frequencies once a minute. Many listeners have found the 13 kHz range useful for masking with the Tinnitus Zapper: • Tinnitus Zapper 13kHz ...
    The concept is that a noise near a listener's tinnitus ringing frequency will give the mind another sound to think about and pull thoughts away from the internal tinnitus sound. It has worked for some listeners, however, it will not work for all types of tinnitus. A close match, within 5% to 10% of the mind's tinnitus frequency is needed. By shifting this boosted noise between 12.5 kHz and 13.5 kHz, it may cover a broader range for more listeners.
    The noise should be listened to 30% quieter than the tinnitus ringing. This is known ans the mixing point.
    Here is a sampler of most of the "T" noise masking series: • Tinnitus Noise Masking...
    These noises are created as my attempt as an audio engineer to help listeners with their tinnitus. It is a complicated subject. I do not have all the answers, but I am doing my part with my skills and as a tinnitus sufferer as well. It is a good idea to seek consultation with an audiologist or ENT doctor to have your case assessed.
    The audio is all original created at my recording studio using ProTools audio editing and Magic Vegas video editing. Each sound creation is made from scratch for a unique listening experience every time

    could you please make a NOTCHED version of this? or any of your videos? sidebar: I've been reading up on the cobra effect of misused/miscalculated white noise and its really concerning

    • @dalesnale
      @dalesnale  9 місяців тому +3

      With notched noise, one needs to know their frequency, and it is not useful to others which is why I've stayed with broadband, sweeping and boosted noise ambience. Great observation on the cobra effect. Noise like any sound, should be listened to at low volume. It is interesting that high volume, such as musicians performing, motorsports, bassy car stereos, is a form of addiction. Staying below OSHA standards of 85dB for extended listening, (preferably much lower) is the way to go. We used to call it practicing 'safe sound' at concerts. Many audio engineers do not, and listeners with headphones need to be aware that high volume over time will not meet the craving and be problematic whether it is music, industrial sounds, automobiles or noise.

    • @incoher

      @@dalesnale from what i've read the cobra effect extends beyond the volume of the noise but the use of Noise at all, as opposed to other treatment (or perhaps other sounds). am i off base?

      It may be above your listening range. There is not much mid frequencies in there. Playback on a phone might need to be that loud, but use caution when using headphones or check out a lower frequency video like the 10 kHz Masker ua-cam.com/video/2I-20-jKVF0/v-deo.html

    I have that tinnitus nonsense. Does anyone know what actually causes it?

    • @dalesnale
      @dalesnale  11 місяців тому +4

      There are many reasons one might have it and circumstances are unique to each individual. Possibilities may include, long term exposure to loud sounds, stress, high blood pressure, tension in neck and jaw muscles, ear infections, blockage in ears and more. Often it is miswiring of neuro pathways between the ear and mind to which the brain tells the person their is a sound there sort of like a malfunctioning auto complete circuit. It is a symptom of other issues and worth checking out with an audiologist if it is disruptive to a comfortable lifestyle.

      That likely means this frequency is above your hearing range (which is common as ears age), or the speakers/headphones ability to reproduce it.
