    Amy, I recently came across your channel. You are an amazing person. Thank you for being so brave and showing us that nothing is too hard to over come. Tom was clearly a fan of Brainiac way back when! I got to go and see the live show, but it was after Richard Hammond had left, still brilliant and I have my Brainiac hat 😊

    I totally know what you mean by watching some other chronic illness channels but I love watching yours because you make it more inspiring and it makes me feel not so alone, to be honest you inspire me in my chronic illness vlogs. Your content means a lot and you are such an inspiration to me ❤️❤️❤️

    Hope this one is the ticket for you and no issues in the future!!
    I think the last I messaged you, I was going in for my 8th surgery. They repaired a hernia using mesh. Well, that was all well and good, but I noticed 3 days later I have another on right near my last hernia. I’m so so upset about it!! I’m like you...so over surgeries! How to you keep your head up when facing surgery after surgery?
    Love ya xoxo

    Lots of people swim with PEGJs with no issues. It’s a personal choice, but definitely not considered dangerous unless in some really awful waters. Looking so much better, go girl!

    Have you ever had ketamine? Sometimes they use it instead of regular anaesthetic if you have had a few anaesthetics close together as another induction agent (I know it is more used in the USA so that would make sense)- and apparently that makes waking up really hard. That's what I've heard- so don't take my word 100% I'm not a medical professional lol but just a thought!

    Hi Amy, I can understand that watching other UA-camrs in similar circumstances might be overwhelming at times. If you're looking for a channel that will never leave you feeling negative, and if you like baby goats, then I recommend Weed 'em and Reap. I never get tired of them, and when my health sucks, they definitely make me feel better.

      @@stephanieamphlett1344 Here (UK) Hosps put buttons in for people who are likely to pull at the tubing, ie, ppl who have had strokes...ppl who do not know why its there and whose family are the ones usually who have given consent for it to happen...therefore a button device is less graspable. I would have thought the same applied to a young person who wouldn't want it 'on show' and would much prefer a less obtrusive one. Just seems like a wasted procedure for them and her if they only go an replace it with a button anyway weeks later. Surely buttons are not THAT expensive they wait to see if the PEG/J is working before replacing it? o.O

    • @cowens017
      @cowens017 6 років тому +6

      The initial placement of a surgical feeding tube can cause some swelling, and a dangler is adjustable. It's also hard to guess at how long the button needs to be if you've never had a tube before. If its too long, it'll leak more, if it's too short, it'll be more painful. So it's better to have a dangler placed initially so it can be externally adjusted without irritating the stoma so much, then once it's fully healed (I think they consider it fully healed at 3 months) they can measure the length you need and make sure you get the right size button.

    It wasn't necessarily the AMERICAN anesthesiologist's fault for you having a sore throat. If you'll recall, you already had a sore throat before you ever had the procedure (you mentioned it & the fact that you had a throat lozenge in your mouth). Obviously, being intubated would cause your (already) sore throat to become worse. I'm not trying to be mean, I just didn't like the comment when you said, " the (American) anestheologist was too rough, etc." America is know to have the best hospitals, physicians & medical care in the entire world!!

    • @TheWendable
      @TheWendable 4 роки тому +3

      Anna Konkle America does NOT have the best physicians and medical care its just that ever single American loves to brag. Theres no need to put ‘Americain' in upper case to bring special attention to it, she didn’t, she later read out that they pulled the peg through her throat admitting that may have contributed to the pain. At least everyone gets treated in the UK unlike merca where you need money for insurance. Don’t be so defensive in future and DONT take it out on our Amy. Y’all have a nice day now y'hear.

    • @tobadoba18
      @tobadoba18 4 роки тому

      @@TheWendable I agree with the poster about her statement regarding her throat as she did say her throat was sore earlier becore her surgery. Naturally inserting a tube into a sore throat is going to make it much worse. And as for your statement about the poor healthcare we Americans have- have you actually had healthcare here? If you are correct then why are so many people coming here for treatments they cannot get in their countries? Yes, you have universal healthcare however, free definitely doesn't mean better as a good majority of UK people have to purchase private insurance in order to get the care they need. Your comment was ignorant at best. Have a blessed day!

      @@tobadoba18 The UK people who take out private health care are seen by the same consultants and surgeons they would see on the NHS. I dont know who would go to the USA for treatment but I guarantee this, its NO-ONE from the UK. The majority of the UK DO NOT have to purchase private health care 🤦🏻‍♀️ Your comment is equally as ignorant so you might want to check what you know about private health care before commenting . America certainly DO NOT have the best health care in the entire world. If Amy says 'the anaesthesiologist was too rough' It pretty much means he was too rough, shes had enough operations to form her own opinion. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣. Don’t reply until you get an education. TY
