If you're worried about gas mileage and price of filling up just run 87. You rarely drive it so 91 is not necessary. Also if you don't want to race just give someone a thumbs up. It's more about being a good sport not having something to prove.
yea that's what I'm saying...why the fuck would anyone mod this aside from the strip, and even then they would probably get more out of traction like drag slicks or something..it has so much power especially for a mustang
I.m an old man and beat the snot out of my mustang. So when you see one that says "adult owned" for sale . walk away. LOL great vid and stay out of trouble.
I’m an older gent 🙄 about to purchase my first ‘stang - a 2014 GT and I ‘m really looking forward to it. It’ll be my only vehicle and daily driver. Enjoyed your vid sir!
3.73 gears makes mine feel plenty torquey on the low end! If I’m doing 20 in 2nd and hit it my 14 starts spinning tires. I’m all stock too, the 3.73 were from Ford when the first owner bought it.
I have a 2012 and it's lightly modded. Mostly drivetrain, suspension, wheels and tires. I also got a lund tune recently, but it was stock for a long time. Your car is absolutely beautiful. I've been subscribed to your channel for a while now and I admire your passion. Enjoy every moment.
A stock Mustang is great. The resale value is always in "stock" original equipment sports cars. As soon as I see a long list of modifications and racing gear installed by a prior owner I'm out of there because it tells me that the previous owner beat the hell out of the car and now wants to sell the damage they did to somebody else. How many times have you seen this ad: "Over $100,000 invested, Make Offer"?. No Thanks! Stock is the way to go.
Ain't no shame in driving a stock coyote about town, but I get it! The reality of wanting a badass car, having a badass car, and driving a badass car are three very different things. Great insight, and entertaining video. Goodluck fighting the good fight and keeping that driving record clear!
With regard to that low-end torque disappointment... You should look into rear axle/differential gear (ratio) change. May have been that your ‘96 had a better ratio. A set of 3:73 or 4:10’s would move your engine into the powerband quicker. Same engine power, but the torque gets multiplied. I was just reading up on it with regard to 2011-14 Mustangs a half hour ago. Google Mustang differentials. Not dirt cheap but well worth it.
hahah I am old too but still rock the 97 mustang gt convertible did a bunch of mods though off road pipes , 75 mm cold air intake , performance manifold , 3 core aluminium radiator , black leather interior .. I like the low end torch around town , thought about buying a used 2012 but my 97 still like new 118,000 miles . $25 too fill up super in 97 GT . enjoy
Bad gas mileage?? My 13’ GT gets 18 in the city and 23 on the highway, I’d say that’s pretty good for a car with 420hp stock! You are definitely in the wrong car for you my guy, maybe a Prius is more up your alley or a model 3!

I just got my 2011 5.0 with 94k miles for 13k. I'm in love with it. Already got a muffler delete and even if it's old I still get a lot of looks from people. I never been in car more powerful than a g37 so this care feels stupid fast.
I love my 2012 GT/CS. I didn’t buy it for the mileage, as you shouldn’t ever buy any performance car if you’re worried about that. i’ve had it for nearly a year now and not once have I had someone try/want to race me. and i’m on the highway often for traveling
A Ford racing power download will definitely add to the enjoyment of driving this car. I have a 2012 GT convertible with some small mods and that was one of them, plus a Ford racing short throw shifter, Ford racing one piece driveshaft, the larger BBK throttle body, Mishi Moto engine oil cooler, A boss 302 transmission air scoop cooler, a GT 500 rear differential finned cover, Plus a few other small mods just make it that much funner....if that’s a word.
My grandpa has a 2012 mustang gt 5.0 like you but his is black on black. He’s got different wheels and I got him the side louvers. It’s not modified just flowmasters for the beafy tone. You don’t need mods to have fun. The cars are fast as they come and doing a burnout here and there keeps it exciting which he does.
Dude, if you want crazy torque off the line….get a BMW M3 or M6!! I’ve driven a 3-Series and they have real good get up and go. Good video but try taking your baby to the track and vlogging it there. ✊✊✊
These cars are beautiful stock in the 11-12 s197 body style. Throwing mods on your car can actually devalue it. I drive a stock 2006 Mustang GT as a daily and have a couple other Mustangs. I got a 2003 GT with Bassani catback, BBK headers, BBK CAI, Hurst shifter (it's still slow haha) All sn95s are when they are naturally aspirated unfortunately.. Also own a third Mustang a 2005 V6. The one with all the mods the 03 sometimes isn't the best for all occasions because mods get so loud and make it less reliable.. plus the stock Mustangs technically have more value if I were to sell them..
i have one as well, i literally get the same question all the time. dont feel too bad, ive had mine for 6 years now and the only thing I have done is add exhaust. thats it. dont actually plan on doing anything else. im in oklahoma and gas is so cheap! i cant believe how much gas is in Cali. crazy! anyways great video. Just get a 3.7 V6. 305 HP and still a quick car. I started off with that and modded the hell out of it and now I have a 2015 GT premium. I still kept my 3.7
don't those things have like 400 hp??? how is that embarassing? Why would anyone do anything to it other than maybe intake / exhaust stuff? Even then those upgrades are pretty much pointless probably (I don't know much about this car so maybe exhuast mods for sound or something would be worth???) i'm still looking for under hood shot so I can see the intake, but yea unless it has a shitty intake and you want that cold air intake sound, and different exhaust sound, fuck modding it. Maybe for the track or strip but if you don't do that there's no reason to mod it. Most people talking about modding it are losers who are just trying to look knowledgeable and use that to put themselves above you, because they are jealous of your car because a) they blow their money so fast they can't afford even this, or b) their lady won't let them get one.
#6). I wish I bought a Toyota Camry! Boone will not want to race, nothing to upgrade, better gas mileage, better fits your personality, $37 gas fill ups.
Respect the honesty most people won't admit they broke, but have some lame excuse as to why they don't have something or that...I tell people man I am broke as fuck and saving what money I can lmao
True - but it just doesn't feel as strong in the lower RPM range. I know it is, but if feels totally different. High RPMs are another thing altogether - the 5.0 is strong all the way to redline!
Mustang crashing into crowd and stigmas like this are just haters being funny. It is obvious that as you said it is the easiest moded car available. There are parts everywhere for these cars old and new. There are 3-4 times the amount of Mustangs sold and or still on the road than corvette's and camaro's combined over the last 50 years. Therefore, any jack wagon who wants to show off and doesn't know how to drive can own one and mod one with the cash he/she gets having an extra part time job.
You overthink everything bro.....too cerebral on it....net effect is that the joyous primal driving experience is reduced to an over analytical critique of a cool vehicle seen through your own overly fault finding mindset. If you’re not happy owning it, sell it!

Had one - loved it. Stock is amazing. I remember first getting into the power band and wondering how anyone handled more power?! PLENTY! I did have the glass roof - which was a deal breaker. If it didn't have the glass roof - wouldn't buy it. It's why I'm looking at a BMW M240i and not a mustang today.

Get out of California. Up here in Maine, no one cares if its stock or what mods you do. There's Mustangs all over the place and most people are just going to work or shopping. Run 87 gas. If you aren't racing, there's no need for premium gas in the Coyote engines.
