I just bought a 2012 5.0 (first car!) and I'm absolutely inlove, I was originally shooting for a 2015 but they're just to expensive in my state, but I have zero regrets with my 2012, its beautiful
That was my first thought 😂 I knew anything 2016 above and above would be to high not to mention insurance I kept looking and looking and then I noticed hey 12s look better in the front they're nice and way cheaper that leaves room for mods so now I'm looking for a 12
Smart choice I bought a 2017 mustang GT sold it after 1 month and bought a 2012 mustang GT the clutch on 2015-2017 suck and had problems with overheating transmission and the car only had 10k miles
the new gens are never worth it unless your looking for a 10 speed which is close to 40k for a one with decent low mileage the 11-14 are just the best looking mustangs ever made i think with 13-14 being the best i just bought my 14 and paid a lot for it for it being like 8 years old it’s my first car also but i think it’s worth spending more on a car that looks better with very low mileage
It's not that 400 hp isn't enough to enjoy that isn't why I mod cars for power I can't speak for others but I don't think many others are like that either. My thing is I am just a car guy and love to improve cars and make them faster and more run to drive in all aspects. It's not that I think stock is bad or 400 hp isn't enough to enjoy its plenty quick to have fun ecsp in an older more raw car with a manual trans. I would still mod it I would at the very least do fbo and an intake manifold swap and tune it on e85 that is bare minimum I'd likes do cams and cj or forced induction tho because in a nut like that lol.
I have a 68 Mustang that I got in 1999. Since I got it I always wanted to modernize it. Then they announced the 2005 Mustang concept and I fell inlove. For one reason or another I always had an excuse of why I couldnt get a newer Mustang. Recently I had a heart attack and Ive since decided life is too short so I might as well enjoy what I can. So I bought myself a 2012 Mustang GT/CS with only 17k miles. Looks beautiful and new. Im keeping my 68 and selling my daily which was a Grand Prix GXP. In love with my new Mustang.
real quick, what was the reliability situation like on your Grand Prix? i’ve heard a lot about the transaxles destroying themselves or crumbling at the shop but i’ve been kind of interested in getting one
@@sinkhole.mp3 they are fun, but not something I would buy again. In the time I had it, while it was under warranty the trans had issues 4 times each time needing a rebuild. Luckily the last time it was repaired by the dealer it lasted for 9 years before needing a rebuild about 3 years ago, that was the first time i had to pay out of pocket. Then I had to have it rebuilt again earlier this year even though I had it built to Triple Edge Performamce specs. I didnt beat on it or drive it unreasonably and always maintained it properly. Aside from the trans the LS4 is decent if you get rid of AFM which will cause ypur lifters to get stuck (had to fix that until I got rid of the cylinder deactivation). It had 175k miles and running very well when I gave it away to a family member.

@@senorbonbon Buy it ! I got 125k on mine runs like new, need to buy faded plastics, if you plan to keep for awhile buy exterior plastics in pairs. The reason it sounds loud and throaty inside is because of the sound tube that goes to the intake. They need that because stock exhaust is garbage. If you have fbo you can do away with the sound tube and listen to the engine actually talking to you the old fasion way.
