    I had to turn off closed loop on the 2 step. After the launched it was pulling too much fuel. The data fueltech offers is second to none. The logger let me know my converter is too tight. The converter pulls the engine down 150 rpm when it hits the stall speed. It drops 1360 on the 1, 2 shift. The car breaks tires loose on the shift. Be able to see all this has me working on the car all the time. I went from 10.90's with the stock ECU down to 10.40's with the FT550 just by tuning from the data 👍🏻

    How much does manipulating converter charge pressure play a role in your combo?

      This is an excellent question! Not too much at the moment, but we suspect it will turn out to be a valuable adjustment to get us closer to the consistency we are looking for. Currently the converter charge pressure is around 70-75 psi and holds relatively stable throughout the run. We will be working closely with the dragster's converter manufacturer to find the best possible setting for this.

    So is the rpm spread when you are on the 2 step time based I guess?

      Its more like a closed loop that a standard time based plot. You give it a target and can then fine tune things like how aggressively it catches RPM overruns and how much correction to do to keep the RPM stable while on the two step. It's a PID loop to be specific and is only recommended when using Coil on Plug setups. For distributor with CDI Box setups we recommend using our conventional ignition cut two step.

    Do you plot any traction control dots in your set up?

      No traction control plots or active timing / RPM compensations are used on Bracket Racing / Sportsman applications.
      As mentioned in the video, the dragster uses the "Sportsman Box" Firmware. This is a one of two firmware variants specifically designed for Sportsman racers. The other variant is "Sportsman No Box" for classes where Delax Boxes are not allowed. In these all functions that are not allowed (such as traction control) have been removed to ensure that a vehicle using that firmware is completely legal for ET Bracket / Sportsman racing.
      The time based timing adjustment seen on the video is achieved by predefined user inputed parameters that are not subject to any type of active compensation during the run. This is the same feature available in any digital ignition system and is perfectly legal to do in ET Bracket / Sportsman racing.

      Of Course they do. It's in the software and no one checks shit. LOOK AT THE FUCKING ELECTION This stuff is innovative, great and beautiful and invites cheating. There is no one way any of this should be allowed in bracket racing at all even if they have the best intentions.

    Why run Fueltech? I'll tell you why. It's hands down the absolute best electronics you can run on any car!!!! Fueltech makes anything from Rywire look like a crying shame. Rywirevis junk.
