yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Anti-Magic_Arrows its a real card from duelist pack: battle city... why does no one checks other sites besides konami and duel links
I can explain the “palate swap” you mentioned at 14:49. In the Toei Yugioh series (Season 0), Kaiba was depicted to have green hair and wearing white attire (similar to Noah’s); the color green was used because it symbolized envy. Noah’s design was intentionally made to mirror Season 0 Kaiba because he is envious of everything Kaiba has.
Exodia's deck master ability: When this card is special summoned, you can add up to 4 "Forbidden One" cards from your deck to your hand, then return this card to your hand.
Mike Henderson or just have the creator of light as your deck master, because on its summon you will win the duel and deck masters can be summoned whenever
Looks like I´m the only one who enjoyed this arc as a child. - I actually liked the idea of Deck Masters. (I tried to come up with consistent rules with friends to make that happen.) - I liked learning more about Kaiba´s and his father´s past. It never made sense to me that making huge holographs for a children´s card game would be economically sound enough to sustain Kaiba Corp. - As a kid I also really liked the idea of VR so seeing it anywhere got me excited already. (Too bad though all they end up doing is the same thing they do in the real world already^^")
Kurostyle21 Yeah, and everything else is garbage. They could have done everything you said WELL instead of whatever this is...but yeah, I agree going into Kaiba's past, no matter how shittily done is a good thing. Deck Masters were not explained whatsoever, but I like mixing up the rules for spice when possible is good (such as 4 way duels). VR was far better done the first time they entered where it was like an RPG, so that makes this arc even more unnecessary, plus it doesn't make sense...the robots were never even shown knocking out everyone, plus mind switching by winning duels? How? Season 1 with Pegasus or Season 4 with Dartz made more sense to take over Kaiba corp, by actually stealing souls with MAGIC or KIDNAPPING or THE SHADOW REALM. Idk, they already knocked them out, and if they had the tech, that should be enough to mind swap. Shadow games made more sense, because they were literally punishment games to see if the victim is worthy. I mean, Noah, Gozaburo, and the Big 5 wanted to escape, not test everyone in card games; they didn't care about winning titles like Kaiba did in Death-T, etc.
yugi logic: seto threatens suicide and constantly shit talks everyone and will go through atems tomb for the pieces of the puzzle in dark side of dimentions to save his pride: he's a good person
In hindsight Seto is kind of an insanely insecure loser if despite his massive wealth, all he can think about is that one time he got beat in a non competitive non televised non official duel. It's even worse cause Yugi literally won that first duel by a complete stroke of dumb luck that had nothing to do with strategy, so it's not even like he really had anything to analyse or sulk over, it was literally just a stroke of brilliant luck. But despite all that, dude will literally waste millions of his company's money just to setup a tournament he can enter, for the sole reason of beating someone who beat him once.
@@WeirdWonderful Indeed. His whole problem is basically supposed to be his extremely fragile ego - he was on top of the world for a long while, got 3 copies of what was an incredibly rare card and destroyed the 4th to ensure no one else had a copy, and it all came crashing down when he lost to what was a stroke of dumb luck, because it basically meant that no matter how skilled he was, ultimately luck could screw him over at any time, and he wanted to rectify that - I GUESS THAT EXPLAINS THE POWERCREEP AND HOW MANY SEARCHERS DECKS CAN HAVE, IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW
The reason Yugi and Co had "invalid decks" and had to make new ones was so that they couldn't use the god cards. There was an intended set of virtual cards programmed into the simulation, and the god cards were not among them. This is also why we never see any of the god cards played in this arc.
Eh. By god card shinenigans they could have probably pulled them out of their virtual ass and the actual god would have simply forced the simulation to display it. You know... like how they clearly surpass the limits of the duel disks by being as tall as skyscrapers and changing the actual weather.
Perhaps. But this was the in lore reason the writers provided for the Egyptian Gods not being present in the arc, and it also explained why they forced the characters to go through building a virtual deck. @@pikadragon2783
Tristan's voice changing isn't an indicator that it's not Tristan. None of the characters said anything about his voice change in the first season. Why would they suddenly do so in season 3?
Kinda disappointed there were no cross references to Kaiba from season 0 and Noah, since he's basically the same except with a gayer outfit and hairstyle.
I always thought Noah’s character design was an homage to the original Kaiba design that was thrown out in favour of the tall brown-haired version, just like Noah was thrown out by his father and replaced by Seto.
It's a big ol' parody of the Rick and Morty quote. The original quote goes as follows: "To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Rick’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. 20:40 In the manga, Gozobaru just kills himself after Kaiba took the company from him iirc. I am guessing he tried to take his own life only for his guys to hook him up to cyberspace and realizes he could have plot his revenge instead.
Yes 4Kids did cut out what happened to Gozuboro's body. When Seto took his company from him, he tried to kill himself by immediately jumping out of the window while they were on the top floor of their corporate HQ building. He evidently somehow survived and was put into some kind of medical pod.

Bottomless Trap Hole only activates when your opponent summons a monster with 1500 or more ATK points. Up to that point, the judge kept summoning monsters with lower ATK. They mention this in the sub version, not sure about the dub though.
Bruh, Crush Card ONLY destroys monsters with 1500+ ATK points. I guess it's garbage in the show even though it basically single-handedly beat Yugi, Kaiba, and Joey.
Maybe I wasn't being clear. He eventually picked Bottomless Trap Hole, but couldn't use it in the duel because the judge was summoning monsters with lower ATK.
Lol, oops. Joey got lucky to pick it later, but unlucky in that duel. I guess...unless you're lying. No way I'm rewatching that episode again though... (goes back to rewatch episode...)
Technically, the whole thing eith joe and yugi having teamwork cards in their duel against the big 5 is perfectly fine because they had to adjust their decks again
"why would you ever assume that every virtual reality world has more than one exit, i'm guessing someone didnt watch sword art online"my favorite line ever
11:28 that duel master ability actually makes sense as goddess with the third eye in the real game allows it to be substituted as any fusion material, so it's deck master ability makes perfect sense given both ability's are fusion based.
5:06 Yeah I just looked it up and found out that Ruklamba had a special ability where it allowed it to tribute itself and special summon monsters from your hand whose attack added up to 2000 ATK during either player's turn.
12:51 another mistake: in the dub, Kaiba says Satellite Cannon's effect only gives it ATK when it's attacking, and any other time it's ATK is 0. Clearly the card says otherwise: it has its ATK boost at all times until after it attacks, THEN it goes to 0.
You have 14K subs as of writing this. Last time I saw your Season 2 video, it was at 5K. Your channel will only grow and never fade away. NOW ON WITH THE SHOW!!
To find the true fate of Gozaburo, you have to go to the manga. When Kaiba defeated him by taking over his company, Gozaburo give him his last lesson to teach him by jumping out the window to his death to show that losing=death. So, maybe the body they're showing is him in a coma with every bone in his body destroyed from jumping out a skyscraper window. XD
*part 1 The Grand Finals has some of the best duels. I loved when Kaiba toasted Joey's ass...twice. Once in the orgy duel, and once in a solo bitch fight.

WOAH! i just realized that whoever was the key animator of those episodes in like 14:50 has an art style that is really similar to those old jojo part 3 ovas ....hmm..i wonder...
12:36 fun fact, they aren't freshmen, outside of the fact that technically season 0 is canon so they've clearly been in their school for some time, DSOD takes place 6 months after the manga and one year after the anime and they are about to graduate...so at most they are junior/senior years. This is also interesting as each are in the anime take around 1-2 week(s) at most each: DK took around 3-5 days, filler which clear is at most a week after DK, Pre-BC which takes around 3-4 days, BC qualifiers take 1 day(2 at most), the quarter finals take place 1-2 days(actually night), VW arc 2-3 days, BC finals finals/semi-finals 2-3. The dragons arc doesn't have a clear time frame of how long its been since BC but it can be more than a year and it takes around 1½-2 weeks, the grand championship takes place right after and takes a few days at most and the dawn of the duel is in atems memories so it posible that no time actually passed...so yugioh likely takes place in 1-1½ at max
In defense of the red eye thing, how else were we supposed to know Mokuba was being brainwashed? Without the red eye effect it just looks like Noah's staring at him intently for no reason. Plus when Kaiba shows up to get Mokuba and he resists, it wouldn't have made sense. Not defending _everything_ 4Kids did, but that one thing was necessary.
In fairness to Yugi on that, Kaiba was *desperate* to win in order to save the soul of his little brother, which is something that Yugi can understand and relate to. So that was a case of extreme circumstances that Kaiba wouldn't have normally resorted to. Hell. Kaiba *himself* doesn't even count it as a win in the Japanese version of the show. Admittedly, the whole "honor" bit is a bit nonsensical as Kaiba is shown to be willing to trash talk his opponents. But the honor bit is fair, since outside of that one specific instance, Kaiba otherwise plays fair. Admittedly, his first appearance in the manga did show that he was willing to cheat, but we can simply chalk that up to the fact that he was originally suppose to be a one-off villain and thus, a lot of his characterization wasn't fleshed out by that point.
What really bothers me is that Kaiba doesn’t beat Noa. Even if he beats Gozaburo later Noa is the main villain for the majority of the season. Even in his own arc Yugi has to take the credit. The same thing happens during his own movie (DSOF).
DSOD had both of them as leads . But I do agree haveing Yami constantly steal moments annoys me . For example the duke devlian duel was done by Yugi not Yami .
21:25 I would talk about how gozaburo killed himself in the manga, and after research I think it happened in the Japanese dub, it was obviously changed in the 4kids dub
It didn't ruin it at all lol, more like you're so OCD non filler impatient. Noah arc just made me not to pull the OG on a pedestal as the best YGO series
The entire arc is better in the original version. The voice actors are better, the music fits the tone better, and the Big 5 behave more like actual people than mustachioed cartoon villains. The arc (lol Noah pun) still comes out of nowhere but its quality makes it not entirely unwelcome

Wow. Another theorist. The difference is i do ships you do details

Couldn't you just have Exodia as your deck master and instantly win every game
That would only be one part.
You need all 5 to win.
This is probably the only way that dumb rule doesnt work due to how Exodia works.
Exodia is five cards
Exodia's deck master ability: When this card is special summoned, you can add up to 4 "Forbidden One" cards from your deck to your hand, then return this card to your hand.
Mike Henderson or just have the creator of light as your deck master, because on its summon you will win the duel and deck masters can be summoned whenever

The Simpsons, but for kids.
Looks like I´m the only one who enjoyed this arc as a child.
- I actually liked the idea of Deck Masters. (I tried to come up with consistent rules with friends to make that happen.)
- I liked learning more about Kaiba´s and his father´s past.
Kurostyle21 me 2
Yugi and Joey's tag team duel against the big 5 is one of the best in the series.
They should totally do VR Yugioh!
Kurostyle21
Yeah, and everything else is garbage. I mean, Noah, Gozaburo, and the Big 5 wanted to escape, not test everyone in card games; they didn't care about winning titles like Kaiba did in Death-T, etc.
hi
Am I the only one who actually liked Kaiba watching this as a kid? And Joey as my 2nd favorite
Exactly me too!
Most ppl love Kaiba. Joey...meh.
I don't remember if I hated him but I did always see him as a villain when I was small. Now I actually kinda like his character
???
Kaiba is the famourite character of half of yugioh fans
yugi logic: seto threatens suicide and constantly shit talks everyone and will go through atems tomb for the pieces of the puzzle in dark side of dimentions to save his pride: he's a good person

Because plot armor.

I love the "You have to have a high IQ to understand Yu-Gi-Oh!" Joke. You're now one of my favorite person.
Pokémon Trainer Jacob eh, I think it went on a little too long personally.
It's a big ol' parody of the Rick and Morty quote. The original quote goes as follows:
"To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick’s existential catchphrase “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂
And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎"

Joey isn't just a bad player: HE'S GOD AWFUL. What kind of moron actually passes up Bottomless Trap Hole at that point in time? 16:40
But that's right, Driving-fking Snow is the good card, right?
Maybe I wasn't being clear. He eventually picked Bottomless Trap Hole, but couldn't use it in the duel because the judge was summoning monsters with lower ATK.
Lol, oops. Joey got lucky to pick it later, but unlucky in that duel. I guess...unless you're lying. No way I'm rewatching that episode again though...

great video but there is one thing that I still dont understand:

Dosent matter. You still take the damage.
No, he meant you stop the duel to go draw 2 rectangles and call them cards.
It makes 1 card into 2 new cards!
It gets banned from OCG.
Technically, the whole thing eith joe and yugi having teamwork cards in their duel against the big 5 is perfectly fine because they had to adjust their decks again

"cant keep this joke going" 2 letters away from the end of the rick and morty copypasta
WTF in the original dub Papa Kaiba wanted to bomb the whole planet? How? Why? Why would you bomb the whole world, what does he gain from that?
His subsidiary Vault Tech made a killing after he announced his bomb sale.
A year late, but he REALLY doesn’t like losing to Yugi lmao
In time, yugi will know what it's like to lose...
*(bombs)*
They called me a madman...
Unless I'm mistaken, Gozaburo jumped out of the window when Kaiba seized control of his company, just to show Kaiba "what happens to losers".
RyanAtlus In the Manga he jumped out of the window.
Kaiba learned an important lesson that day. Jump to your death if it looks like you're going to lose.

12:51 another mistake: in the dub, Kaiba says Satellite Cannon's effect only gives it ATK when it's attacking, and any other time it's ATK is 0. Clearly the card says otherwise: it has its ATK boost at all times until after it attacks, THEN it goes to 0.
Season 3 is actually my favorite season of the show
You have 14K subs as of writing this.
XD
So that's where kaiba got the suicide thing in duelist kingdom!

The joke is everything is wrong with yugioh season 3...
meaning ALL of season 3 is just wrong.

The Grand Finals has some of the best duels. I loved when Kaiba toasted Joey's ass...twice. Once in the orgy duel, and once in a solo bitch fight.

I had fond memories of Yu-Gi-Oh when I was a kid. And now, I've been disillusioned. Man, nostalgia really changes the way old stuff look in your memories compared to what they really were in real life. Nonetheless, a fun video to watch!
This show is so bad but hilarious at the same time. You pointing out the flaws just makes it better.
I found your channel at the perfect time. I'm rewatching Yu-Gi-Oh on Netflix and now I get to laugh at all the shit that I now notice that I didn't as a kid.
WOAH! i just realized that whoever was the key animator of those episodes in like 14:50 has an art style that is really similar to those old jojo part 3 ovas ....hmm..i wonder...
12:11 - 12:29

In defense of the red eye thing, how else were we supposed to know Mokuba was being brainwashed? Without the red eye effect it just looks like Noah's staring at him intently for no reason. Plus when Kaiba shows up to get Mokuba and he resists, it wouldn't have made sense. Not defending _everything_ 4Kids did, but that one thing was necessary.
17:15 Bruh, Crush Card was the best trap in the game. What, should he have used Gift of the Mystical Elf? Wait...
Yami: Kaiba duels with respect and honor!
Kaiba: *threatens to kill himself in duelist kingdom if yugi wins the duel*
3:18 Oh Lord, why does Tea look like that
At 12:13 there is a Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon card on the second bottom row
21:44 I like to think that when Cvit talks its actually Kaiba the one saying "this is bullshit"
I noticed in that scene of the 100 cards when kaiba is talking about taking the company, he had an exodia piece, and blue eyes ultimate
in the manga Gozaboro Kiba decides to jump out the window of the skyscraper after kiba take the company from him.
21:25 I would talk about how gozaburo killed himself in the manga, and after research I think it happened in the Japanese dub, it was obviously changed in the 4kids dub
Did anyone else laugh uncontrollably at non-abridged Kaiba saying: "I'm coming, Mokuba!" In such a sexual way?
This needed to happen, this shit almost ruined the whole series. Filler bullshit
Bach BodyBuilding The show wasn't very good to begin with.
I liked the deck master thing. it was interesting.
Andreas DQ honestly its mostly nostalgia
