@@cameronthedramatic3292 There's always PCSX2, the PS2 emulator. Sure there's a couple virus pitfalls when you try to download it, but you just need to be careful about what you click. Huge nostalgia trip when I played it a week ago and been meaning to play some more soon. And no it doesn't take forever. Just around half an hour for downloading and setup.
I have something to add: With the thing with the Millennium Ring, I thought that they should've put a little more connection with how the it works rather than JUST split the wielder's soul because then it would've been a lot more interesting to see how Bakura and Alexander were similarly affected by the Millennium Ring. But this was a great video!
Yeah I have to disagree with him on that as well. The Anakin versus Obi-Wan tool was amazing and emotional in fact the choreography and swordplay was pretty realistic except for that one scene where they do the light show.

weirdly, Mokuba does bring up Capsule Monsters in Duel Links for whatever reason. I know it's based on the dub for the U.S. version but I didn't think they'd include it still
Actually in the original manga Mokuba was a Capsule Monsters champ and lost to Yugi. This was before Duel Monsters became the main game for the rest of the story.
+kyris0 Oh, actually that's because in the original manga, Mokuba is the capsule monsters champion, like seto is the former duel monsters champion. They cut out ALOT of mokuba's character in the anime, he isn't just Seto's little brother who follows him around, he was at one point an antagonist during the capsule monsters arc, to explain, the yugioh anime actually only picks up halfway thru the events of the manga, there were many arcs before the series you know started.
Can we please take a look at the fact that the Red Eyes armor thing was kinda wasted. What if instead of "Joey can't do it becaue Yugi can" what if Joey was scared of using the Lord of Red because he was afraid he'd hurt his friends if he put it on again because he couldn't control it? Yeah he has Red-Eyes under his control, but if he tried to fuse with it, doesn't that make them more powerful? s
"Why is it always Five-Headed Dragon?" Because obviously most of this shit is 4kids trying to turn their Dungeons and Dragons campaign into a yugioh story, and Tiamat is one of the most recognizable villiains in DnD
Wasn’t Capsule Monsters in the manga/season-zero? Like it’s what Mokuba played against Yugi with. I think that that Capsule Monsters used original monsters though, I don’t remember.
Takeru Takaishi You are both right. It's usually referred to as capumon, but it's basically capsule monsters. Mokuba and a creepy stalker of Miho's challenge Yugi to play it in Season 0. Bakura challenges Yugi to a game that isn't capsule monsters but somewhat similar to it (with their souls at risk of course)
Capsule monsters first appear in early manga chapters and in the toei anime. In the original anime and those early manga chapters, Yugi is meant to be the king of games and yami Yugi plays all versions of stuff that were copywrited. Duel monsters were originally monsters and wizards or monster world I forget but that was supposed to be like magic with more of a random field bonus. Then capsule monster chess was fully introduced by the little Mokuba demon. So it was a chess variant that was like pocket monsters but I’d say the summoning method in the 4kids arc is just beating a dead horse reference to the duel disk. Not to mention this season is way cheaper quality from 4kids
Dysth Ymia nope, he lost to Rebecca also, and yes it was a filler, but the whole Waling the Dragons Arc was filler so, Yugi lost just once or three times (and yes i know he would have won against Rebecca, but he surrendered so he lost) and i forgot, Atem lost a fourth time, agains Yugi in the final duel, he lost also against Pegasus in the time duel on VHS, so Atem lost 5 times in the whole Anime, 2 looses were just filler, one because of Kaibas bullshit suicide trick, one because of a surrender, one because of a time limit and one in a fair way
@@TheRobben98 Kaiba: Huh. I have this NEGATE ATTACK on the field, that will block an attack............. nah! Threatening to kill myself is so much smarter. Kaiba could have had a legitimate win if he hadn't been so stupid. As for Pegasus he set a face down card before Yugi's final attack, so even without the time limit he still wouldn't have won. Or at least on that turn.
I remember when 4Kids aired this on Saturday mornings in between two seasons of the original show and I was very confused as to what exactly was happening
There actually was an explained reason for why grandpa would regularly not use Summoned Skull or Curse of Dragon, though id be hard pressed to call it logical. So all capsule mons have a "recharge time" after they have been used, grandpa used summoned skull to beat seadramon, so he couldnt use it later. He also wasted it in his failed suicide attempt where he attacked a pillar for no reason. I say this doesnt make sense because literally no other character is seen being held back by this recharge time. My only conclusion was to hamstring Grandpa so he wouldnt be stronger than Yugi.
Tackson Caswell well maybe it is because Grandpa Muto is much older and has much less power than the others, his monsters were (after Yugis) the strongest and maybe needed much more ernergy or some bullshit to work
Honestly from a story standpoint, they could have had Joey win against Marik so everyone is like "Oh! The big bad is beaten" Joey gets Ra, and as shown, Marik still can control Téa, just have him mind control Joey, do the same shadow game from Yugi vs Marik, but Yami Marik is controlling Joey's Body. Have Joey essentially pull a "Less-Evil" Marik, and have Joey take control at the last second, and could even still have him Forfeit the duel as a means of paying yugi back for giving him the prize money from Duelist Kingdom.
For so long I was looking for a compromise on this were we could have it both ways, and you found it. This should have been Yugi and Joey's battle city duel rather than the doc one. It would have been much better. Maybe imply Joey could have won to, but decided to forfeit.
6:37 Tamers did it first, though 9:09 now I get it why you choose Frontier for comparison) 8:00 feel you on this my man (I always thought that Mariks deck was pretty much garbage and only worked because of the torture mechanics of his cards combined with his magic. Pegasus had at least an interesting deck and fucking KOIBA was always superp)
You are right but Frontier is the better comparison as it was more like the kids entered the bodies of the digimon (Weird how they call them spirits though as they seem more like souless bodies) to protect themselves where as Tamers was literally fusion and as seen in this the monsters become armour so yeah
To explain your point about Yugi's grandpa not using Summon Skull, in the full version, Yugi's Grandpa assumes that high-level monsters, which Summoned Skull is, needs more time to recover. To answer your questions about cut portions, it's mostly just individual scenes, like the Summoned Skull scene I mentioned (I think that was a bad scene to cut, but that's the way it is).
I know I late to say this but(1. digimon tamers beat frontier to the human in digimon armor (2. Tristan actually did get Some of his Signature original cards from one of the older yugioh games
Yugioh is one of my favorite series ever, but I have few huge problems with it. 1) Feels like Yugi (not pharaoh) does not get enough of growth flashes before he defeats pharaoh in final duel. I think they should have pharaoh lose to Raphael and than have Yugi try to step up and save the day. 2) While Joey grew, i think he should have had bigger part in the last tournament they played in, and not have him get his butt handed to him by villain that i literally forgot the name off. 3) Marik in Battle City tournament. Him surviving against Mai because of card BS, and than surviving against Joey because Joey collapsed made him look weak. Especially since Joey lost to Kaiba right afterwards. As a kid I did not take Marik as a threat after the Joey duel. While i said Joey should have grown throughout the series, i think he should have been squashed by Marik in the semifinal. 4) I wish they did more with the king of games title. 1 of the fillers should have been just about defense of it with no evil villain behind it. I would have loved to see how Kaiba bounces back, see Joey rematch Yugi. Yugi would have won like always, but seeing Dark Magician vs Red Eyes or Black Magician of Chaos vs Gilfer the Lightning would have been awesome!!! Side note, anyone wishes that maybe Yugi let Joey borrow Summoned Skull or if Joey won Summoned Skull from someone in Battle City? I would have loved to see more of Black Skull Dragon. (Also i always preferred the Skull over Dark Magician, it was actually intimidating and felt like a boss monster).
I'll give credit where credit is due, as a guy who distinctively remembers one of the last episodes of Capsule Monsters as a kid, by rewatching just the last two parts it actually works in a sense. While Yami Yugi used his power, at first, to find an opening to Alexander, when everyone else was taken down, he used all the monsters he had left to protect his friends. Even though it was just a cliche, think about what happened back in season one where Kaiba almost died. Yami was determined to finish the duel, but Yugi struggled and stopped it when he knew that Kaiba was slowly losing it due to not being able to protect his brother. Here? Yugi Moto AND Yami Yugi himself decided to protect his friends by sacrificing his own victory, and in return he gets the Ultimate Armor. It sounds stupid sure, but it's leagues better than the way Yami Alexander was going for. In case you weren't bored with the actual fight, and actually paid attention to the dialogue and exchanges of Alexander, the Millennium Ring has the power to corrupt, as we've seen with foes like Marik and Bakura. Now imagine a heroic soldier, angry that the power to take over the world wouldn't allow him to have it, had that kind of corruption. Of course it would make sense for his sense of power to be as warped as any old person with the ring. To him, victory is the only thing that matters, and similarly to Marik (in a way), he let's his subordinates fight first and then decides to tribute summon the Seven Armed Fiend using all of their souls. The second time he used his subordinates after the Fiend, with Reshef the Dark Being, he used their remaining monsters to be more of a battery for his own monster. But the servants are still living and breathing, despite the last time they all screamed as they disappeared. They're completely defenseless this time, and every attack dealt to Reshef suddenly hurts the servants instead. Now if this was anyone else, they would still attack and destroy, provided the servants would have a more painful death as well, but after three attacks and seeing the results themselves, the heroes can't bring themselves to hurt the subordinates any more than they have to. Unlike Yami Alexander, the servants were just as pure-hearted as his true self, albeit they might've chosen to stick by Alexander because they're loyal to them. They placed their trust into Alexander, and what they got in return? The laser attacks Reshef used had the increasing risk of harming his own team, they were being using as the living batteries of two different monsters, and they saw their own king spout out pure, unfiltered, sadistic joy for using his servants to claim the power to conquer the world. In his own twisted mindset, Alexander claimed that; “A ruler who doesn't make good use of his subjects doesn't deserve to have any in the first place!” and “A True King would never value his lives of his servants over his own.” But has he learned nothing from this series? Time and time again, Yugi entrusted the help of his friends to help deal with the biggest of threats, and even when he was on his own, he knows that he will not be alone even when the tables are turned. So Alexander was the perfect counter to Yugi's philosophy, a ruler who doesn't care about what he does to his team, is pitted against the man who, for example, took a single punky jerk and turned him into a jerk with a heart of gold. And in return, everyone else helped Yugi when he needed it most, not just because they're loyal to him, but because they know about the heart of the cards...or capsules in this case.
Never confirmed canon. The Dub claimed they were cousins though. (Actually the Yugioh 5Ds dub tried to shoehorn in references to DM and GX a lot, even when they made no sense what so ever.) As far as the Japanese dub goes the guy just happens to look a lot like Joey. Could have been actually him for all we know. Ushio/Trudge still looks pretty young and it’s canon that he went to school with Yugi and gang.
Summoned skull can’t be summoned because more powerful monsters take longer time to recharge, I guess that doesn’t apply to flame swordsman, or dark magician, and I’m also assuming it wasn’t mentioned in the movie??
I cant believe u used my favorite scene from The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy as a sound effect in this video hahah that was so good, Im so happy u did that (0:58).
Subbed! I am so glad to see this again, thank you mate, truly. I missed this series, I hope you're doing alright now. I wish for your best health, I hope you're in a good place. Wonderful work. Worth the wait.
B Will Nah. In 5Ds there was a guy that kinda looked like Joey however they was ni real connection established. The dub however inserted that line that he was related to Joey. Thats what spread this misinformation.
Re-watching this video. I looked back at the capsule monster series. The reason that grandpa couldn’t summon summon skull is because it needed some time to recharge.
I'd have to agree purely because Yugioh doesn't pander to nostalgia like digimon and pokemon does. Tri's premise could have actually worked if it didn't have to use 01's bloated cast of eight returning characters as well as new characters needed for the new story.
Ironically the point about grandpa having summoned skull and not using it WAS actually addressed in the original non-movie edited version. I have it recorded on VHS and there's a scene where he explains that the monsters can't be used immediately after you "summon" them because they don't have enough energy or something (the capsule turned silver) I remember the scene vividly because I was confused as a kid when I saw the scene on the VHS but not on the DVD I later got.
I know you got the cut down version, but to shed some light on Summoned Skull. He uses Summoned Skull to save Tristan and Girl from the big thing in the Ocean. IDK what it showed in the Movie but after they "defeat" it it evolves into a bigger version and creates a huge Water-Tornado and then Grandpa uses Summoned Skull to destroy it. Later, at the camp, Gramps tries to summon Summoned Skull again but his pod is "Grey" instead of "Gold" and he says some line like "I guess the more powerful monsters take longer to recharge". Which I don't think is ever a problem again, so there's that. Edit: Wait you seriously released this today? I literally just finished this Ark on Netflix last night...
The reason that grandpa doesn't use summoned skull is explained in the series. Summoned skull takes longer to charge between battles because of its high level. It is also killed later on
GigaSnake To be fair I prefer Maxamillion Pegasus to Pegasus J crawford for the sole reason that naming your son pegasus would get them beat up really goddamn fast.

Oh god, now I need to see fan art of Celtic Guardian leading a battalion of non-meta relevant monsters. Someone needs to fight against Altergeists with unconventional strategies.
Boneax _ The army of vanilla monsters will destroy the metasheep.
This video really makes me want an archtype for Celtic Guardian now lol. Please Konami do it, give Celtic Guardian his own Archetype. That'd make you so much money lol.
That'd be pretty hype. I mean, some older dudes got their own archetypes. Buster Blader, Gaia the Fierce Knight, Red-Eyes and a lot of other older cards get archetypes. Celtic Guardian needs a deck profile including Obnoxious Celtic Guardian.
I have nostalgic love for Silver Fang. Do you remember that wolf from Yugi's deck in Season 1?
@@mysttrix477 They got an archetype called Celtic Guard incase you don't know
Blasphemy! Anakin vs Obi Wan in Episode III was awesome. Easily one of the 5 things great about the prequels (they were not great I know) and its a highlight in the Star Wars saga.
Call me weird but I find it funny and a little cute that Tristan saved thunder kid from being killed by that Ray of light. While thunder kid was walking towards him
Before you know it, Yugi will be playing Beyblades.
The game was dope though, I still play it from time to time.
I know this comment is 2 years old know, but how do you play it? Custom rules? A joke? Did they release an actual game? I'm interested.
@@cameronthedramatic3292 Yu-Gi-Oh Capsule Monsters Coliseum. PS2 game that works like chess on all the crack and it's absolutely guddamn amazing.
@@dragonsmash3r Oh man, sounds cool! Wish I could play it...
@@cameronthedramatic3292 There's always PCSX2, the PS2 emulator. Sure there's a couple virus pitfalls when you try to download it, but you just need to be careful about what you click. After that just find a rom file of the game online (being careful with that as well) and load it onto the emulator and bam. Huge nostalgia trip when I played it a week ago and been meaning to play some more soon.
And no it doesn't take forever. Just around half an hour for downloading and setup.
The game was awesome
I have something to add: With the thing with the Millennium Ring, I thought that they should've put a little more connection with how the it works rather than JUST split the wielder's soul because then it would've been a lot more interesting to see how Bakura and Alexander were similarly affected by the Millennium Ring. But this was a great video!

12:45 hold up that fight was great
Its over Anakin I have The High Ground!
imo it's great up until the moment they start surfing on a lava river
Yeah I have to disagree with him on that as well. The Anakin versus Obi-Wan tool was amazing and emotional in fact the choreography and swordplay was pretty realistic except for that one scene where they do the light show.
LittleKuriboh never bothered to dub the rest of this! I'm so rustled so much! RUSTLED!
well tbh he didnt have to yet as these are filler episodes that have no timeline to be placed as i guess he wants to do in order. unlike the orichalm filler arc which had a time slot in the series this didnt as it served to no pourpose at all and was forgotten 100%
Probably for the best though
weirdly, Mokuba does bring up Capsule Monsters in Duel Links for whatever reason.
I lost it at *”Alexander’s Golden LEGO Monster!”*
Yeah he has Red-Eyes under his control, but if he tried to fuse with it, doesn't that make them more powerful? s
"Why is it always Five-Headed Dragon?"
Because obviously most of this shit is 4kids trying to turn their Dungeons and Dragons campaign into a yugioh story, and Tiamat is one of the most recognizable villiains in DnD
"Did you forget about this one?" Yup.

Wasn’t Capsule Monsters in the manga/season-zero? Like it’s what Mokuba played against Yugi with.
I think that that Capsule Monsters used original monsters though, I don’t remember.
Yeah it was in the manga! I think they called it capumon for short XD And yeah I think capumon had its own monsters
Hannah Creasor yeah! The game bakura played was monster world! And yeah Mokuba used to be pretty creepy back I season 0
MKgirl 21 mokuba ordering around Seto just seems so unnatural.
Hannah Creasor yeah XD but I don't remember him ordering around seto rather I think seto And mokuba had problems with each other...
4:28 "Then Yugi fighting the trees in the forest." Without context it sounds super-stupid, but equally hilarious.
7:45 Yugi lost against Kaiba when he treatened to kill himself. Guess suicide can beat plot armor.
and atem lost to raphael but that's like what two losses in the entire series eh
Dysth Ymia nope, he lost to Rebecca also, and yes it was a filler, but the whole Waling the Dragons Arc was filler so, Yugi lost just once or three times (and yes i know he would have won against Rebecca, but he surrendered so he lost) and i forgot, Atem lost a fourth time, agains Yugi in the final duel, he lost also against Pegasus in the time duel on VHS, so Atem
lost 5 times in the whole Anime, 2 looses were just filler, one because of Kaibas bullshit suicide trick, one because of a surrender, one because of a time limit and one in a fair way
Nope, at the end Yugi was like “Let me quickly just switch with you so we lose”
Atem lost to his bitchass backseat driver
@@TheRobben98 Kaiba: Huh. I have this NEGATE ATTACK on the field, that will block an attack............. nah! Threatening to kill myself is so much smarter.
Kaiba could have had a legitimate win if he hadn't been so stupid.
As for Pegasus he set a face down card before Yugi's final attack, so even without the time limit he still wouldn't have won. Or at least on that turn.
The audio from Billy & Mandy got a surprised laugh out of me! Well done!
I want to party with Prisman.
I remember when 4Kids aired this on Saturday mornings in between two seasons of the original show and I was very confused as to what exactly was happening
Obi and Anakin's fight was probably the best of any lightsaber battle to date
There actually was an explained reason for why grandpa would regularly not use Summoned Skull or Curse of Dragon, though id be hard pressed to call it logical.
So all capsule mons have a "recharge time" after they have been used, grandpa used summoned skull to beat seadramon, so he couldnt use it later. He also wasted it in his failed suicide attempt where he attacked a pillar for no reason.
I say this doesnt make sense because literally no other character is seen being held back by this recharge time. My only conclusion was to hamstring Grandpa so he wouldnt be stronger than Yugi.
Tackson Caswell well maybe it is because Grandpa Muto is much older and has much less power than the others, his monsters were (after Yugis) the strongest and maybe needed much more ernergy or some bullshit to work
You just can't defend this piece of shit series
0:55-1:01 I laugh everytime a Billy and Mandy reference appears.

Everything. Everything is wrong with Cr@psule Monsters.
Except the ps2 game
@@DemonicsInc Still have it, still love it. The only Yu-Gi-Oh game where Gaia is the most OP monster.

Can anybody tell me what song is playing at 6:50. What is it named?
6:37 Tamers did it first, though
9:09 now I get it why you choose Frontier for comparison)
8:00 feel you on this my man (I always thought that Mariks deck was pretty much garbage and only worked because of the torture mechanics of his cards combined with his magic. Pegasus had at least an interesting deck and fucking KOIBA was always superp)
isn't the frontier comparison wrong though? They kids became digimon themselves, not fuse with them or wear them as armor.
You are right but Frontier is the better comparison as it was more like the kids entered the bodies of the digimon (Weird how they call them spirits though as they seem more like souless bodies) to protect themselves where as Tamers was literally fusion and as seen in this the monsters become armour so yeah
Bruh you really disrespected anakin and obi wans duel in episode 3, thats gotta be the most intense lightsaber duel ive ever seen
I'm thrilled you made an effort to say you're still salty about the Joey/Marik duel cuz even after ALL this time I'm still pissed about it myself.
Okay but it made a good couple of episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh abridged lol...
HeresToUsTX Hoping Little Kuriboh can get back to that series at some point, alongaide Season 0.
I know I late to say this but(1. digimon tamers beat frontier to the human in digimon armor (2. Tristan actually did get Some of his Signature original cards from one of the older yugioh games
It’s weird they removed the explanation that Gramp’s Summon Skull needed to recharge
Maybe this is nostalgia talking but I remember the Capsule Monster Coliseum game being pretty lit.
Kinda hoped this video would be the entire series of capsule monsters unedited
Yu-Gi-Oh is great and so are my milk reviews
RUSTLED!!!
My body is ready for more Yugioh
Dude, I love your videos! hahahahahaha from the comments to the editting, everything is great! keep it up

yeah 5Ds he is in for like 10 seconds
Zach Hambelton in 5ds there is a character called jesse wheeler, but it was dub only
Now you have to wonder
Never confirmed canon.
The Dub claimed they were cousins though. (Actually the Yugioh 5Ds dub tried to shoehorn in references to DM and GX a lot, even when they made no sense what so ever.)
As far as the Japanese dub goes the guy just happens to look a lot like Joey.
Could have been actually him for all we know. Ushio/Trudge still looks pretty young and it’s canon that he went to school with Yugi and gang.
That doesn't make sense cause it said Pegasus died from old age and where the hell is Yugi and Jaden in the 5ds series.
Summoned skull can’t be summoned because more powerful monsters take longer time to recharge, I guess that doesn’t apply to flame swordsman, or dark magician, and I’m also assuming it wasn’t mentioned in the movie??

Wait Joey had a son or something? What?
B Will Nah. In 5Ds there was a guy that kinda looked like Joey however they was ni real connection established. The dub however inserted that line that he was related to Joey. Thats what spread this misinformation.
Re-watching this video. I looked back at the capsule monster series. The reason that grandpa couldn’t summon summon skull is because it needed some time to recharge.
yugimon > digimon > pokemon
Wait wich iterations are we talking here? Or are we talking consistency? Or concept? Define your sets damnit!
Duell Monsters>digital and Pocket monster
are we talking about games, card games, dub anime, sub anime, movies...
Those words there are fighting words. You prepared for that?
Do not mistake in this entire thing compared to the Anakin versus Obi-Wan dual everybody appreciates that has the best light saber duel so shut up
Am I hearing Death the Kid theme song throughout the video like at 4:00 or is it just similar?
9:50
*coughs* TAMERS... *cough*
What the hell? The fight in revenge of the with is one of the highlights of the movie
It is also killed later on
will you be moving on to GX after season 5?
