Walk and fish Assiniboine River Winnipeg

- I happen to be luck enough to live a couple of blocks away form the Assiniboine river in Winnipeg. Me and the wife always talked about walking down and try to fish near our house. Well today is the day and at least we didn't get skunked.

@cdn outdoors It's not a Buffalo, notice the long, pointed dorsal fin that has a quill extending outwards.

Pretty much anywhere along the Assiniboine is fishable but we basically went straight south of polo park and there’s a bike path along the river.

I am planning on hitting the Assiniboine next summer. I fish the Red often but never that river. I will probably try at Portage end first. But there are a few hidden gems around the city also, like this spot.

Yes there is. You need a fishing licence to fish anywhere in Manitoba. I would suggest going to a place like cabelas to get one and also a fishing guide to read up on the rules and regulations while fishing.
