I forgot to mention in the video that the Alt + # shortcut by default can also select a video track on your timeline instead of swapping your video angle. A quick fix for this would be to double click on your multicam clip in the timeline, to swap to the clip preview, and once your preview window is showing (if you're not already in dual view mode), find the "Source" dropdown menu, similar to what we did in the video, and select "Multicam" This will then switch your "Alt" shortcut back to swapping angles on the timeline. Regardless, I hope you found this useful! and helped your editing workflow!
As someone who just recently got into proper DaVinci Resolve use, discovered the linking and unlinking, mapped different keys to cut clips, da-activate them then select the next clips automatically, and did a one-hour podcast cut, this tutorial is what I needed. And you already had my sub, so I may as well like the video again.
Have watched a dozen multicam tutorials and nobody has talked about the unlinking audio trick, or opening in the timeline to make adjustments. Never thought of adding two speakers side by side as a new angle, so cool! Thank you!
Sure, here's a revised version of your request: Hey, I watched the video several times but still can't figure out how you did the third layer. Could you please explain it in more detail? Thanks!
Hey there! What do you mean by the third layer? If you do need help setting up the multicam, we have a discord where it might be easier to answer your question. There should be al ink in the description
So I searched out this video after seeing your short about multicam, and it turns out I dont think I can use the tool for this project. Ive got way too many specific transitions and weird cuts switching between footage angles that it would actually handicap my edits. This is a perfect tool for quickly editing simple cuts without transitions, effects, or animated elements in mind, but not for my project. Thanks for sharing the info though! I'll just have to remember to put it to use when ive got more simple content in mind XD
Haha yeah it's not great if you have specific transitions in mind, but it's still extremely handy for changing camera angles. Appreciate you checking out the video and showing love

brilliant tutorial thanks man
thank you man !
really helped my workflow
How did you make the timeline panel wider?
This is helpful for and for sure you won my sub
Thank you for educating me on this sorcery
hey, you are sure welcome
How are you making the cuts? By selecting ine camera angle is it automatically cutting the video track?
In the Multicam preview menu? Yes, when you click on a different camera angle, it will make a cut for you and swap to that angle

You mean to tell me Minges had you edit your own podcast appearance? What a B-east!

its easier if you got the speed editor
I've always wanted a Blackmagic peripheral or panel, looks like it would be a game changer
@@itstheWampus speed editor has buttons for cam angles 1-9
Wow!
