    In welcher wohltemperierten Stimmung ist das Instrument gestimmt?

      @@aseerose5684 No, there is only printed „well tempered“ and this is clearly different from equal temperament. It is generally assumed that, that Bach had his own tuning system, which differed from the Werkmeister tuning systems. But Kirnberger was his student and therefore Kirnberger III may a good approximation to Bach‘s well tempered tuning.

      Indeed. I do the same thing that I suppose Bach did: I tune the instrument to sound the way I like it. I am not an expert in temperaments. Regards!

      @@LangLangsam But well tempered means: as many pure intervals, especially fifth, as possible, without too many wolf intervals, so Bach tuned his Instrument not randomly at his gusto.

      I tried to say that I am not an expert in temperaments, and that is why I tune the instrument to sound the way I like. I do not think that tuning it this way is randomly tuning it to my taste, but rather following the ear to my taste. I also believe I mentioned that I suppose Bach tuned his instrument in the same way, not that he actually did so. The truth is, I do not know how Bach tuned his instruments. But in fact, if different tuning systems existed, it is because musicians liked different types of tuning, not randomly but based on how they sounded. Regards!

    I think it is just a beautiful piece of music. I wouldn't notice a difference in how the piano is tuned. Like most other people, I suppose.
    This is not a channel of a superstar professional (no offence, I appreciate your honest play). So why bother with these sophisticated details? Relax and enjoy! 😊

      Thank you for your honesty. I regret that I am considered unprofessional. I would describe myself as a practical musician without desires for elitist perfection. But within that definition, I am a professional. 😄

      That's what I meant, dude. You play very well and you produce beautiful music. But I guess you don't practice 9 hours a day. I don't expect perfection here. Maybe you have other stuff to do like most of us humans. I think that inspires more than a professional superhero. Keep going, I enjoy it. Because I am also just human. Nothing wrong with that I hope.

      "Bach's ensemble performed his cantatas with instrumental and vocal groups that referred to various pitch levels at the same moment of music-making for a'.
      This means that for the organ/brass players, music was played from materials that were notated 1 to 1 1/2 tones lower.
      Thus, if the strings, woodwinds, vocalists, and harpsichord were playing from parts notated in D major, with a' ~ 413 - 421 Hz,
      the organ and brass players had parts notated in C major at a' ~ 465 - 467 Hz. One can imagine the practical performance problems this led to, from issues of uncomfortable keys for the organist to intonation problems due to the unequal temperaments used."

      I think anyone could imagine how highly professional Bach and his friends sounded. Not only groups playing in different keys to sound at the same pitch, more or less, but also wind instruments with fixed hole positions tuned to a different intonation than the other instruments. And if we add the coldness, the humidity, probably the hunger of the musicians, and the lack of hours and years of rehearsal, we would have a level of Bachian professionalism much greater than mine.
