Wow, this is fantastic! I played this a couple of years ago in public, and it is THE most demanding piece I have performed yet. To play it all by heart is no mean achievement. Her articulation is flawless, the tempi are perfect, the organ is beautiful. What more can you ask for?

As a contemporary of Bach said...
"As if an angel has come down from heaven and played for us."
I hope this wonderful person will stay many years amongst us, and spread the music. Absolutely the holy trinity of perfection - music, musician and instrument all in perfect harmony. Chapeau!!

This performance is absolutely amazing. She has it all -- perfect tempi, rhythms, articulations, steadiness but with subtle agogic accents defining the structure of the music, drive and excitement. Yet she looks completely relaxed and at ease. Monica is one of the finest organists of her generation. Play on and on and on, dear Monica!

I used to play the organ and at first I thought it would be impossible. But over time with plenty and plenty of practice it started to work and the feeling you get when you master such a skills is incredible. And it is indeed amazing how your whole nervous system seems to adapt to allow you to do something like this. I agree that this is a superb rendition of BWV532, impressed with the organ too and it sounds great even though the organ seems to be standing on the ground floor of the church, which is really unusual for a baroque organ this size.

I'm sure this comment will be lost among all the others, but I was attracted to this video because back in the '70s, long before the current sanctuary and organ of Christ the King were built, the church met in what I am sure is now the Fellowship Hall. Back then, I was a member of the Houston Harpsichord Society, and we had numerous meetings in that building, including most memorably a concert by harpsichordist Alan Curtis and baroque violinist Lucy van Dael.
I am delighted to see and hear what a fine instrument now inhabits the new church, and to enjoy such a wonderful performance Monica has given us of BWV 532. Christ the King has always had the good fortune of having members who supported the very best in music, and it is wonderful to know that this tradition has continued.

@@DanaFox1Tbabe Cameron is the reincarnation of Virgil Fox in more ways than one (on organ playing, changing stops just for the sake of hitting the generals pistons, all show and no heart (feeling), or as C P E Bach wrote of such players, modo technicus).
Cameron can and will play Bach with too frequent stop changes, stops never found (or had been invented) all he wants, Ms Czausz plays J S Bach "Bach's way."
Recreating the tonality, tempi, and ornaments is musicology, not a tradition taste, but the recreation of history.
Playing J S Bach on Caville Coll Organs was a tradition, actually it was more of a fashion, until HIstorical Informed Performance practices started a revolution (mostly due to E. Power Biggs, who wasn't a stick in the mud, he played Scott Joplin on a Pedal Harpsichord. In England just as playing J S Bach on those large English Cathedral Organs wasn't a fashion, it was what was available and in a sense non traditional. In the time of Bach's contemporary, Handel, there wasn't but one organ in of the United Kingdom that had a pedalboard.
The first time I heard Virgil Fox (record) play the J S Bach's Schübler Chorale Prelude, Wachet Auf Ruft uns die Stimme (it's a transcription Zion hört die Wächter singen" ("Zion hears the watchmen sing"), the 4th movement of the cantata of the same name BWV 140) it was many things, but it wasn't J S Bach. J S Bach ("right hand 8', left hand 8', Pedal 16') Virgil Fox used every d@mn stop on the organ in a crescendo, with a 32' trombone for the finish. I believe the term is "I threw up in throat, a little." That was before Fox toured with that God-awful electronic organ. So when I hear a Cameron Performance on UA-cam (through a quality sound card into a audiophile system of the 1960's) the first thing that comes to mind is Yogi Berra's famous quote, "It's deja vu all over again!'
Now if you enjoy the musical equivalent of "The Last Supper, by Leonardo Da Vinci executed with Fluorescent Poster Paint on a black velvet 'canvas' illuminated by a black light, more power to you.
Breaking with tradition for the sake of breaking with tradition is fine for iconoclasts, however, nothing, not even the world's largest digital organ, is going to change that organ's do not hold the place of respect on the concert stage that they use to, and the major audience for classical organ pieces are basically church organists and lover's of J S Bach's music, and it's a hidebound group. Cameron doesn't even have the benefit of the "Heavy Organ" Light Shows with Hippie's listening while frying on Acid for an audience. Most people associate pipe organs with church, weddings, and funerals most of which have lost their popularity, except funerals which were never popular in the first place by the family or the decedent. Ironically, I really enjoy Cameron's organ arrangements, and his performances of these are excellent and in good taste. I hold the belief he missed his true calling, being a "Theater Organist." And that's not a put down, a Theater Organist requires virtuosity of the highest order even more so than either a Church or a Classical Concert Organist, and Cameron's performance practices would dove tail perfectly with the Theater Organ musical niche. Too bad there isn't a 21st century Cable or TV Equivalent of The Lawrence Welk Show, to feature his talents to an even larger audience.

There's quite a difference in size, with Sydney Town Hall being one of the two organs in the world with a 64' rank (Contra Trombone 64'). The other one is at Boardwalk Hall Auditorium (64-foot Diaphone-Dulzian).

That is a wonderful little organ, and you get such color out of it! I love your registration, articulation.. you should record and sell.. I have records by "experts" that don't show this kind of color. You got more out of that little organ than most get out of their big 3 and 4 manual machines. Yeah, have a fave!

She's almost incredibly accomplished (I say "almost," because we can watch her do it). And I love the insouciance with which she pulls the stops out, as if she weren't playing an enormous piece at the same time.

You're a fine musician, Ma'am! Get on your agent's case and organise a concert tour of New Zealand. You deserve to be better known, and the new Nicholson organ of Auckland Cathedral would ring out loud under your fingers and toes! As would the great Klais of Auckland Town Hall. Nor to mention the Father Willis of St Matthews-in-the-City.
