  • DOWNLOAD our Aqauponics E-Books TODAY! Our materials will walk you through the complete building process of two different systems along with a greenhouse. Also, we will provide you with materials to help you maintain it as well. We offer 3 ebooks:
    THE BASICS OF AQUAPONICS
    STEP BY STEP AQUAPONICS
    UNDERSTANDING AQUAPONIC PLANT NUTRIENTS
    www.morningstaraquaponics.com
    What an amazing project this was to do! We had a team of volunteers that helped us push this aquaponics build through. What a wonderful gift it will be to this orphanage; not only for food production but an educational tool as well. This aquaponics system features 8 grow beds and 2 fish tanks.
    This video here will walk you through the complete building process of an aquaponics system. Many beginners are searching for step-by-step instructions on how to build their very own aquaponics system in the backyard, basement, garage, or some other type of facility. I hope it will give a better understanding of how you can do it yourself.

    Now if only we can have these in all our schools to teach and provide, probably in much bigger scail to provide enough healthy and clean food for students

    Brilliant build mate very clean, strong and well thought out. 2 pieces of information you might find useful - volcanic rock if you have access to it or clay balls have twice the surface area and half the weight. And Jebao DC pump, very efficient W/lph. Slap a solar panel/charge controller and one of those pumps and it'll be totally power independent, no need for grid power.

      Being in Honduras, we are very limited on the media that we can use. Thank you for the suggestions.

    Thank you, I’m really interested in start up a Aquaponic system, but I want to take it to another level of sustainability, I mean I want the Aquaponic, but also introduce egg production (chicken) worm production (to feed the chicken). I don’t know if I make my self to understand. Hope you can help

    Hi Shawn. Bought your E-book and is using it for inspiration. Guess you can say that I am making a half version of this one (1 fishtank, 4 growbeds). I decided to go with flood and drain (Bell siphons)
    instead of continous drain. But I was wondering why you are not using bell siphon on this setup. Could you elaborate..

    • @thehealthawakening
      @thehealthawakening  5 років тому

      Awesome! Thank you for the purchase. I offered both methodologies. It's really your preference. Many will argue there is no difference as in plant production.

    Hello Shawn. Very nice system. I am thinking of doing something similar. I will buy your book. Can you please tell us what type of paint you used fo the IBC tank?

    • @thehealthawakening
      @thehealthawakening  4 роки тому

      I sand the plastic barrels and ibc totes with a heavy grit sandpaper. Then primed with latex exterior primer and then used a latex exterior flat paint. It's not a perfect solution, but it's the best we can do in Honduras.

    the sump tank could be higher which would make it more power efficient? it seems like it is overly low, or is that for the ground heat?

    • @thehealthawakening
      @thehealthawakening  5 років тому

      Thank you for your comment, but there is nothing wrong with the position of the sump pit. The key is to get a pump with the right head pressure. Due to the heat in Honduras, we need to have ways in cooling the water as much as possible.

      In other words, he totally agrees with you... You are correct though, extra height of water is extra work, extra work costs extra energy. Beautiful build but otherwise

    Hi sir you have explained well sir but please tell me how to calculate bio ball and what type of motors are used and please show in slow way construction of aquaponics system

    • @thehealthawakening
      @thehealthawakening  4 роки тому

      Well, I didn't calculate the bio ball, I just filled up the bio filter with them. Many people don't even use bio filter for a system such as mine due to the grow media in the grow beds. I like to do an overkill on everything. More biological surface area for bacteria growth, all the better. Also, it keeps my grow beds cleaner. I have other videos for a slower process in the building process. Also, you can purchase my instructional videos on my website at www.morningstaraquaponics.com

    Hello shawn, iam wondering how many fish you can put in each tank?

    • @thehealthawakening
      @thehealthawakening  4 роки тому

      In each tank I try to keep around 60 fish. Bear in mind this is tilapia, every fish species has its own stock density. Also, you can only stock your fish tanks according to the size of your grow beds.

I desperately want to buy powder in capsules. I saw your video how you process. I trust you. Please I'm struggling with serious diseases and desperate. Thank you.

    Is this an aquaponic or hydroponic? Cause I don't see the fish.
    And the same setup could be used for hydroponics?

    • @thehealthawakening
      @thehealthawakening  5 років тому

      It is aquaponics. There are two way to start a system with fish or fishless. We started it fishless. It's a starter pack you can buy online that has the ammonia and bacteria to begin developing the nitrification process.

    Hello Mr. Shawn. What was the cost of sourcing materials and building this system in US dollars? -Thank you.

    • @thehealthawakening
      @thehealthawakening  5 років тому

      The system itself would be around $1800 USD and the Greenhouse included, $3000 (but we bought the shade cloth here, I don't know the US prices. It's very expensive here.)

    • @CrescentTropicals
