Hi, great to see you thriving in your life. I do also have crackling in both ears after having SSHL. Does this crackling causes any discomfort or a bit pain? Because I’m feeling it.
Hi @abhishekroy9961, Thank you! I don't have it too often now, but I certainly do still get occasional random pain in my ears that usually goes away after a few seconds. However, I cannot say if it's from my SSHL as I have TMJ (jaw joint) issues that also cause jaw and ear pain. It never hurts to go in for a follow up visit if you are able to just to get rechecked- I definitely have gone a few times to get some reassurance! Wishing you all the best!!
@@dominickbrookes5103 I’m so glad you’re getting things checked! I hope everything goes as well as possible - sending lots of positive healing energy your way!
Thank you ☺️ I had to go back and look- it appears I found an appointment with a family practitioner and they sent me to audiology for testing and gave me medication then an ENT specialist reviewed results and followed up. I hope this helps!
I'm going through the same thing. Also going through a 16 year marriage breakup. How long was it from when you lost your hearing to when they told you you finally recovered? It's been a month for me so far. I've only got some of my low frequencies back.
I'm so sorry you're going through this difficult time on both fronts! While I did start getting hearing back immediately with steroids the frequencies came at different times I got back high first and still have some low tone loss, the strange noises and the odd feelings of fullness crackling etc. lingered- it was as if everything was trying to slowly figure itself out over months and put everything back together into a cohesive sound instead of a garbled mess. They told me it would take a year to truly know where I'd end up at and I would say that was accurate for me. While I always hoped the ringing would leave too it unfortunately appears to be permanent but I have adjusted well and just keep background noise on. If you are showing improvement and got medication right away that's a good start! I hope that you continue to improve and try not to be discouraged as it can truly seem like the slowest recovery ever sometimes.
@@naliyahkaya well that is promising to hear that it took a long time, although I know every case is different. To be honest, as time goes by, I've kinda gotten used to only hearing out of my left side. I'm a musician and music has been such a big part of my life since I was 4. On the side where I can't hear, sometimes I hear tinnitus and sometimes I hear what someone else that has SNHL referred to as a sound like from an old CRT monitor. I'm now starting some Hyperbaric Chamber Therapy because I've read on line that this has helped some people recover but my audiologist says that there is no scientific evidence that proves this works. I figure if it doesn't hurt me, I'll try anything. I also take a multivitamin like you mentioned, but the one I take is supposed to be the #1 prescribed supplement specifically for hearing health called Lipo Flavinoid. Plus my ENT also suggested Magnesium, so I take both of these everyday. Anyway, thanks for your video. It really does make me feel more optimistic 👍🏼
@@emmas3716 this is sadly very true and one of the reasons I made this video and try to educate as many people as possible that ear things are emergencies and to advocate as strongly as you can to receive emergency treatment - but I know it is not possible for everyone depending on finances, insurance, education of doctors on it and ability and willingness of doctors to treat immediately … not have people waiting months for a specialist when it’s too late😞
@@emmas3716 oh my goodness! Im so sorry to hear that. I did not but interesting that you mention as when I first went from the initial pulsatile tinnitus they did attempt to wash my ear out at doctor before confirming it wasn’t a blockage or wax and then put me on steroids. I then got better but as you saw “relapsed” a couple weeks later. I do recall though that I had gotten water in that ear years earlier and never felt like my ear would fully open on that side but didn’t have hearing loss or tinnitus but interesting it was same ear.
But my left ear is high putch ringing, and i have sudden hear loss ,its been 2nd day ,i am soo panic because this high pitch ringing is constantly in my left ear
Hi @mallikkhan118 I'm so sorry you are experiencing this. I know it is a very scary and difficult experience. I hope that you have gotten to a doctor and been prescribed a course of steroids. If you are taking them that is the best thing you can do. The ringing is unfortunately a VERY common component of SSHL. In my experience it was the worst in the beginning and now for me 2.5 years out I still have it but it is NOT like the ringing when it first happens. Try keeping fan or background noise on for now and avoiding quiet environments and anything that helps reduce inflammation helped me greatly (diet, sleep - whenever you're able, reducing stress if possible). Wishing you a quick recovery!
@@mallikkhan118I’m not sure I can recall many more specifics than what’s in the video (I had to look back at some notes I made even for this 😉) but happy to answer any additional questions to the best of my ability 😊

Due to this video I'm running to an audiologist today.

Sometimes or most of the time even if you take action immediately doctors will fob you off and not do anything
