There’s something cathartic about watching clips of an endlessly versatile drummer like Thomas Lang just lay into a solid groove and hold it tight, it showcases the power of what a particular kind of drumset has to offer. Those fills are delivered with careful thought and authority. The toms, especially, sound awesome. Thomas could play on tin cans and sound great, but he knows how to get the best sound from any drumset. I know i could never play like Thomas Lang but the question is, would this kit sound the same for me?
The kit sounds amazing and this actual one is for sale... A lot of it is Thomas's feel and approach though. But the tuning... the mics... that can be replicated.
Sounded great. I love how he digs into the snare but doesn't overplay the kit.. Meaningful and simple, but effective fills. My buddy has an old PDP Concept maple that he tours with. Hangs right in there with much more expensive kits. Seriously considering a pdp for my second go at drum kit owning.
I owned a couple PDP maple kits in the past. Great sounding drums, except the snare drum. I actually liked them better than my DW kit. Just because something is expensive, doesn't make it better.
It does sound great, doesn't it! 1st, the LTD EXT PLY PDP Snare is a great drum, especially in the 14"x8" size! Those Maple/Walnut thick shells are amazing. 2nd, Thomas tunes so well and a lot of the sound of him playing is in HIS HANDS. I don't exactly sound like Thomas when I play on his kit, if that makes sense? That EXACT snare available here - we can also get Thomas to sign it for you! westlakedrumcenter.com/product/pdp-ltd-maple-walnut-14-x-8-snare-natural-satin-pdsn0814mwns/
Wow. Great drummers make the drums sound great! Who says this guy can’t lay down a pocket? Nice kit 👍🏼
PDP makes great product.
Wow the toms sound especially amazing here. The tone, fullness, enough resonance and attack. Of course super tight playing by the man, Thomas Lang!
This actual kit is for sale through us here at Westlake Drum Center. It is a beauty and not too expensive either!
best lesson ever - knowing the difference between what he could have played and what he actually played...
Totally! With great power, come great responsibility!

I've played on a number of Concept Maple kits. Its a lot of drum for the money once you change the heads out. T
He sounds as good playing slow as he does playing fast.
Are those clear heads or coated I can't tell with the lighting ?
That snare is on point. 🔥 Here's my wallet..
chris@westlakedrumcenter.com will help with that ! This actual kit is available!
How to you get the ltd snare to sound so beefy?? Great sounding kit btw

His sticks are huge!!
@@87hayes You are right... but I use the same sticks and don't sound like him though!
when your pedals are more expensive than your drums (but you get them all for free anyway)
The pedals are free... have to pay for the kit! Hah! 😆
only true drum gods can "bury the stick" on snare hits and get away with it...
