I really appreciate how you took the time to create an in-depth and detailed video so that we beginners will be able to learn quickly from your great tips. Thank you so much!
I love the way you show this step by step. This is how I do mine!
+Rebecca Perkins awesome to know great minds think alike! 😘👍 thank you for your support! 🌼❤️
Wow! I already liked the video at 0:37 when you showed what consistency it is supposed to have. I was thinking, "whoa! Others never show this step. They assume I'd know. I should follow this channel."
The most beautiful video I've seen in a while. Thank you.
wow, your skill was ten times better than my culinary school's teacher! please post more videos about cake decorating!
+lolo li thank you, I have a bunch more videos coming soon 👍😊🌸
My “teacher” for cooking is my mother.
Thanks for this video. I think the mircowaving for 5 seconds to soften the buttercream for that final coat is such a great idea! will have to try it next time. Loving your channel, keep up the amazing work!!👌
+annabelle j. You're most welcome, thank you so much for your support! 🌹👍❤️
Hi what if i do not have a microwave, what other method can I use to soften the buttercream? Thanks in adv.
TA Lau place the butter cream bowl couple of minutes in a bowl with warm water and stir well
I use a metal bench scraper and heat it in hot water, blot the water off and drag to smooth without digging in. It just kind of melts the top layer.
One of the more honest videos about what it takes to get the sharp edges and smooth finish! Thanks!
Thank you SO much! SO helpful.
+Bunny Mad aww, glad it made you feel better ❤️❤️❤️
It looks so simple, but yet I just can't do it!
Yes you can
Tip is to use Swiss buttercream. Any other buttercream will be harder
Thank you for this video, I just started learning to decorate last week and this was very helpful. I was also taught to put spatula in hot water.
Thank you so much.xx
I love love love how your camera is showing us the important angles the we must see. Thank you for sharing this video.

+Primavera13 thank you! I really don't know what to say to such praise, except that I'm very touched ❤️😘🌸
This is by far the most helpful video I've watched on this and so useful to see the whole process, how you hold your scraper etc. I've learned stuff watching you. Thanks!
I totally enjoy your videos, they are amazing and I have learn so much. Your SEBC is the best thing ever, I used to make the Swiss Buttercream or the Italian but after making yours I wont go back, it is easy to make and delicious and in my area where it's hot and humid it holds under fondant very well, plus everyone that has tried my cakes go crazy with the buttercream flavor.
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing talent with us.
+Mymi Freedman you're most welcome! Thank you for your kind words 😘🌸❤️
Perfect and thanks for sharing. I will try your technique.

+toffee tarts you're most welcome! 👍😊
Thank you for this video. I always thought maybe I needed a metal scraper but now I think the microwaving for 5 seconds will really help with the wholes and the smooth consistency.. i will provide feedback
gorgeous!!
+Zabdi Coronado thank you! 🌸❤️👍
thank you for this video!!
Looks excellent. I need to get the spiny thingy and the cake scraper !
This is the best video!! Thanks for sharing.

Amazing!
***** Begortega2502@hotmail.com thank you! 👍🌸❤️
Looks perfect very nice 👌👌👍
Awesome result!! Great tutorial Sawsen👍🏻 well done 👏🙂
+Adele Rae Collins thank you Adele! 👍🌸😊
Fancy Favours & Edible Art my hubby works for Kimberly Clark who makes the Viva towel you use to smooth your cakes, however here in Australia we only have the impregnated viva...not the plain smooth towel that you use, which is a bummer for Aussie cake decorators 👎🏻😕
+Adele Rae Collins ah I see, yes I know the paper towel method for crusting buttercream, I hear your can use washed and ironed sewing interfacing fabric instead... sebc doesn't crust though so paper towels can't be used to smooth (just for clean up, as per all cakes!) 👍🌸
I am just a new bee in baking and this video of yours is a big help in solving the puzzles in my mind hahahaah.... Thank you so much for sharing such technique...
+Paytou Forget-Me-Not you're welcome 🌸
thanks so much! this helps A LOT! I have 2 questions: is it the same with regular buttercream or you recommend swiss meringue buttercream better? And also.. I live in a hot weather, does placing the cake in the fridge with the final coating would make the cream get like watery on the outside once I take the cake out of the fridge?
I appreciate your help!❤
+Sldp90 hi, thanks! I recommend my buttercream the most. Recipe link is in the description box. Cover the chilled cake lightly in cling film or place in a lidded container before bringing outside to avoid water on the cake, remove cover after the cake is close to room temperature 🌸
this is so patient and beautiful you are an artist , chapeau bas
Fantastic job!

Good job!
Loved this tutorial, by far it is the most informative. I do however have one question. Will this method of heating the buttercream in the microwave work if my buttercream is made with eggs?
I am trying to learn how to decorate cakes. I have been showing this tutorial to people, and this is goals! This is literally the best frosting tutorial I have ever seen. Well done. How long have you been decorating cakes?
+Mandolin Brown haha thank you 😊 almost 8 years now 🌸
Fancy Favours & Edible Art I just did my first cake, it did not look like yours, lol! I know I just need practice, but is there any specific tips at all that I need to know, besides what is in your video?
+Mandolin Brown just follow the steps carefully, use my recipe and check the consistency is right, then practice practice practice! 🌸
Fancy Favours & Edible Art ok thank you so much for the help
Very informative and relaxing to learn from you. What kind of turn table do you use? Mine always stops 😳 having the right kind would help a lot.
this is more perfect than me 😃👍
Can this technique be done with High Ratio shortening buttercream? Thank you for your video.
Hi. I make a frosting similar to buttercream but I use crisco. Would microwaving it have the same results?
This tutorial was amazing! Going to try all your tips! Thank you!!
That looks amazing 🥰 anyone have any idea how long a cake like that would keep for? In and out of the fridge.
That's a very cute tiny offset spatula :)
Amatuer!
I lllllllllllllove your videos.... thanks
Hi, great video, thank you! Just wondering, does the scraper have to be as tall as/taller than your cake? Or is it possible to use one that isn't as tall? Thanks :-)
+Jade Crawford hi, doesn't have to be but really helps!
so when you make the buttercream you melt the entire batch a little in the microwave to get it really smooth and silky?
249 thumbs 👎....why? This video was flawless
thanx for such a great video...feeling lucky that i've found out your channel...im yet to try ur SEBC...would love to give it a try...but im afraid..what if i mess up the whole thing...is it a NO FAIL recipe...i mean i dont want to waste up all the butter if at all i mess it up...1 more thing i would like to know...i dont have a microwave..what alternative method can i use to get that smooth texture...i need to try SEBC as soon as possible..probably this week itself...Thankyou...
hi, sorry for not seeing your comment til now... YT put it in spam for some reason, I guess the length... anyway SEBC is a very easy recipe to follow, you literally cant go wrong as long as the ingredients, quantity and temperature are right. If it's too runny chill the bowl a bit then continue, if it's not mixing or too lumpy warm it a little with a hot towel on the side briefly then try again. If you dont have a microwave and find you have air bubbles try hovering the bowl over a saucepan of bubbling water for a few seconds, then stirring, and repeat that until the buttercream softens. Not too long or it'll melt! good luck 🌸👍😊
I love this buttercream, but how do you get it to not have air bubbles? Mine never gets as smooth as yours, there are always holes.
Thanks for sharing , I use to have this spatula can’t remember what product I bought that has this in it , please can you share the product name ? Thanks
Wow 🥰🥰🥰
Beautiful job, well done. Looking forward to more video's 👍🏻
+Mr. & Mrs Wojciechowski thank you! 👍🌸😊
Is this smbc? I have to use American “buttercream” which is shortening based because of the cottage food laws. I have a lot of problems with air bubbles as I’m frosting even if I take the time to squish them out with a spatula.
Does this work with basic butter and icing sugar buttercream?
Thanks for sharing your skills ...only a request please can u tell me the cake recipe that u use in this tetorial
Do you use same buttercream to crumb coat.
The buttercream is very smooth
Hi..Beautiful..Can I use Fondant with this Buttercream ?
+Johana Hernandez thanks! Yup, chill well and you're good to go 🌸
I simply love all your tutorials and am a big fan, any tips for icing a cake with whipped cream
+Anita Bhandari thank you 😊 I'm afraid I don't work with whipped cream so I can't help you there 🌸👍
Does microwaving also help American buttercream?
That's really helpful....plz guide me whenever I kept smoothing with scraper...my scraper scrapes alot of frosting and in beneath naked cake appears....frosting the cake is still a nightmare for me and im afraid I'm not gonna perfect in doing that....
im not very tech savy can u please give me a link for the recipe u used for ur icing!! please and thank u. your cake is so beautiful.
thank u so much! 💗
Do you put the buttercream in the fridge before putting it in the microwave?
Can a cake covered in this buttercream be placed in the freezer to firm up?
Will this work for American buttercream?
Can we use this egg free buttercream after 1 day or 2 days ? And if we can than how many days we can save it ??
You are so artistic . Your amazing
Is this frosting get easily melts?
If you chill the cake and scrape again, isn't the buttercream too hardened scrape off? Is the scraper warm? Anytime I've tried to scrape chilled buttercream, it comes off in chunks
Does this dry hard
Instead of using iceing
Hi! How much butter and icing sugar did you use to cover this size of cake? :)
+Dani Larson about half a batch of my buttercream for this cake, recipe link in description box 🌸👍
wow very nice😍 i wanna try it but can i use regular american buttercream?
+hope1light not with this method, sorry. Try mine, its super easy and absolutely delicious, like ice cream. Look for my simple buttercream recipe video here on UA-cam for an easy recipe 🌸
I am confuse. About the buttercream..I wonder if you mean it from the butter or from the cream.which we wipping it.thank you .
What is the best reception for a cake that is going to be covered with buttercream? I love the taste of a sponge cake the best, but I think that is to soft, l can never get sharp edges like that.
Hi, I love your buttercream , but last time ,they cracked, can you tell me why? Thanks
Ooooooh nice finish!!!
The music is a bit annoying though....
is the cake sitting on a cake board of the same size or straight on the gold board? thanks.
+Nazly Nasser this one is straight on the gold board, you can add a cake board if you want to transfer the cake to something else 🌸
when you say "chill" does that mean in a fridge or a freezer?
Fridge
@@EfromR thank you for clarifying
If we add water to butter cream frosting, what happens if the butter cream and colour gets separated?

+kwakoe lightly! Take off thin layers at a time 🌿👍
