  • TOPARCHERY Lightweight 50x50x5cm High Density Self Healing Foam Target Layered Hunting Shooting Practice about $38 at the time of making this video, on amazon link below:

At a reasonable price the target does its job! i ended up spray painting a circle onto the middle of the target with some spray paint and that adhered just fine and stands out. Im going to probably end up buying a 2nd target and lay them out at different distances.
Hope the video helps if you have any questions leave a comment!
    Thanks!

That won't last long. I use foam floor tiles from harbor freight stacked. They work great and I get 6 tiles for $8 that are 2x25 inches x 3/4 of an inch. Cut them in half and stack them. I have shot 1000 arrows through so far and no pass throughs.

This has since broke down but I plan on giving the harbor freight floor tiles a try. Thanks for commenting!

Tree makes a great job stopping the arrows

It definitely does. I don't have experience shooting at trees, i heard that it could damage the arrow. And arrows aren't really cheap (for me at least) but if you aren't concerned with that then a tree or even a large thin piece of plywood would do the job id think!

1 pack of 4 foam floor tiles is 2' X 2' and is less than half that price and would do the exact same thing.

Do you have a link or a suggestion for a keyword to search in amazon for what you're talking about? i searched up foam floor tiles and I get the rubber looking puzzle pieces. If the material Is the same or similar i don't see why that wouldn't work!!

@@confactor18 . Yes those are the ones. Walmart sells them for $13 CAD for a pack of 4. If you buy 2 packs that will make a target 2 feet by 2 feet by 4 inches. I tested a small piece 4 tiles thick(2 inches) and the arrows stuck out about 1-2 inches in the back from about 8 meters with my 35 lb recurve. So 8 tiles thick should do(4 inches). Theres a video on youtube where a guy makes targets like this but he uses 12 tiles thick.

Let me know what you think of it after 500 to a 1000 arrows have been shot in to it and how it has held up thanks.

No noticeable difference in its ability to stop the arrow yet.

How many of those targets do you think it would take to stop the arrow from going threw them at all @ 20 yrds
I'm asking cause I shoot 20 yrds in my basement. So I don't want the arrows hitting the wall behind the target

This is a great question and i honestly should have thought of doing this when i had made this video as i did have two but from two separate manufacturers. I can say with enough confidence that if you had two of these taped together and a small buffer like a pillow or something between the target and wall it wont hit the wall. I think that with two of these foam targets one behind the other shooting with the best arrows and 60lb draw weight the arrow would likely still protrude through the back target, but my guess would be it would only go through maybe an inch or less. But again i havent tested this myself to verify thats just an educated guess.
I would advise against doing it inside though its probably the furthest thing from safe and BS happens, its possible you'll end up misfiring or having a fluke shot at least once and throw an arrow into the floor or wall. Anything can happen so just be safe and expect the inevitable! Hopefully my answer helped best of luck with your target set up!!

I purchased the same target off Amazon, and its junk. Every arrow I shot at this zipped right through it. I shoot a 70lb compound, even my kids 50lb shoot arrows right through it. Dont waste your money.

id love to see you upload a video, i think i was shooting at 60lbs. my buddy shot this with a thinner arrow and also did not go directly through it. i haven't used it in a while maybe i will make an updated video myself soon.

Hi just want to ask if by any chance this high density foam will work as a target for card throwing? Do you think the cards will stick to itinstead of just bouncing? Thanks in advance.

    • @confactor18
      @confactor18  4 роки тому +1

Hey! Thats a great question.. if you are throwing playing cards, i know how to throw a card and i can spin it pretty far and hard but i dont think the card can get enough force to actually puncture and stick into this foam.. if your talking about metal cards or maybe even sharp plastic cards maybe.. ninja stars definitely. i think the foam is too dense for normal deck of playing cards from a casino.
Thanks for watching hope this helps!

@@confactor18 I see. Thanks for getting back to me, man. I was planning to buy one of this for the longest time. Guess I'll have to find a different kind of material then. Thanks again for the quick reply. Have an awesome day.

@@kimokimo17 I think card throwing is interesting, thats pretty cool.. i searched up a video on youtube and found people using something similar to this archery target material but its far less dense. do you live by a home depot?
