Oh boy- this is all WAY too familiar. Hahaha. We've actually been watching travel UA-cam together for over ten years, but only actually decided to take the plunge a little less than two years ago. We started with just a phone (an out of date Android, at that) and a big, annoying external microphone. We decided to make a few "practice videos" as well, which we honestly never thought would see the light of day- but posted them anyway. There was such a learning curve to the whole thing, and we're still figuring things out to this day. Everything you said is super relatable. It's SO hard to not constantly check the numbers and compare to others. It can be so disheartening. People can also be super rude, and cruel. And even if 99% of the comments are decent, it's always that 1% of jerks that sticks with you. We're just shy of our two years on UA-cam, and are just reaching 10K, even though we were monetized in 3 months. UA-cam life has SO MANY highs and lows. It's really hard to stay focused and not let it get you down. But it is nice to see we're not alone feeling this way! What you've guys accomplished so far is super impressive, and having a core audience like you've found is the dream. It's so much better to have, than a large sub count that doesn't even actually watch or engage. Hopefully one day we'll have the same. 🤞 You guys make great content. Keep up all the amazing work!

Interestingly, I came across your channel because I was searching for travel vlogs in central Asia and loved every bit of that journey you both shared. I found there are not many travel vlogs on yt that explore central Asia.
I think you're both amazing on camera, one of the many things i love about your videos. I've seen a few travel vlogs and i didn't vibe half as much with any of them. You don't need to be "bubbly" to be a good watching experience. In fact i find overly bubbly personalities grating, it always feels so false. You keep being you ❤

I love your idea of a podcast channel. It will give us the opportunity to learn boring technical tips and tricks of traveling that will make our travels more enjoyable. 🙏. On your main channel, can you tease us on where will be your next destination? It will give us a chance to tip you back on some interesting stuff to cover. like, when you where in Luang Prabang. I wish you had talked about theirs famous river algae snack. Another suggestion is to use a common thread about this region. I love listening to podcasts but dont use Spotify. 99% of podcasts I follow are available on other podcast apps other than Spotify and Apple Podcast. I use AntennaPod and am not sure on how you need to upload for the podcast to be available for non Spotify users. It'd be great to listen to you on my commute and not have to use the UA-cam version of it. Thanks!
