I've just found your main channel yesterday and I was watching for like 5 hours, what could I say, you look such a kind and cute couple but also different personalities that found a way how to be together also work as creators! I really understand how difficult is to travel full time for living and not have stable routine or time for actual relaxation.. For people who don't understand it looks easy and nice, but it's also very hard job that your are doing! I am also graphic designer with a lot of different experiences I am almost 30y and dreaming of creating content while watching vlogs like yours! You are such an inspiration for me as travel creators but also your both energy is super warm and that the reason I will watch and follow your content!! Good luck for your guys
It feels a bit scary to start from scratch again, so thank you so much for watching! Don't be shy to leave a comment or give us any suggestions for future video topics!
love this.....
I’ve been following your channel for a while now, and I just wanted to say a huge thank you for sharing all your amazing insights on traveling. Your videos are so inspiring and always make me excited for the next adventure. Keep up the great work!
Hi Flora and Note, I only discovered your main channel a few months ago and I really enjoy travelling along with you. I love that you share facts about the various places you visit, as well as discovering things along the way. Your enthusiasm and friendliness is very engaging.
I’m from a different generation and in the early 1990s, I back-packed around the world for 2 years on my own. This was pre digital cameras, internet, mobile phones. I wrote regular letters to my mother so that she knew where I was and what I was up to. I only phoned her twice in 2 years! I bought Lonely Planet Guide books for wherever I decided to go. Everything is so different today.
I can relate to what Flora said about needing to compromise when travelling as a couple. What I loved about travelling solo was that I met a lot of local people who would invite me to visit and offered me meals and even offered free accommodation sometimes. Couples were more “self-contained” and tended not to get invited to the local’s houses like I did.
Another advantage of traveling alone was that I didn’t plan ahead too much, and I could be very flexible. I might meet some backpackers at a hostel, or a bus stop, who were travelling to somewhere interesting and I would spontaneously decide to join them for a few days. Through these chance encounters, I climbed two different active volcanos in Chile and Argentina, I joined some people sailing in a felucca along the Nile in Egypt, I walked the Inca Trail into Machu Picchu, Peru (I have heard that its all regulated now, but we didn’t even hire a porter, we did it all ourselves) and so many other unplanned adventures.
I wish you well with your adventures and I was glad to hear that you will stop if you become tired of it. After 2 years, I began missing my family and life in Australia so I went home.
Thank you for sharing your story with us! That must have been an amazing time to travel and get lost in the local experiences. South America is definitely on our list.. it feels like a trip that will need 2-3 months though so we need to save up!
So happy for a podcast, I would love to listen to yall talk about your pre planning process in picking a country, budgeting, figuring out where to stay and what to do.
Ohh budgeting is a good one because we're terrible at it! I'll note it down 😉
I just watched your video. I am like Flora , love to be by myself sometimes and my husband is like Note. It just shows that living contently is a struggle for all of us. We all want structure to our life. I will enjoy you as long as you do this. I will say I will miss you both one day if you choose to stop UA-cam. You are much appreciated for showing me places I will not be able to go to. Thank you, Kob Kuhn Ka. ❤️❤️🙏
Thank you Diane 😍 We're always so happy to read your lovely comments. I do agree that everyone has their struggles so it's important to find happiness in the small moments, small accomplishments of each day. So far we're still really enjoying this lifestyle so we're not going anywhere! This new channel just gives us a platform to grow even more as individuals, as a couple and as creators so we're really excited to be able to express ourselves here.
I love your travel shows so much. I literally wait for them like new TV episodes. I am so happy for you guys to be doing something you love, and to boot, you are learning the world more than most of us can. In sharing, we live vicariously through you. Thank you.
Congrats on the new channel, I will be watching 100%.
We feel so special! We remember the feeling of having to wait for new TV episodes every week, not like now when most things are on-demand 😂 Glad we can be part of your week, now twice a week! Thank you for the support 🙏🏻💕
Followed from the main channel. Can’t wait for more content. Keep up the great work ❤
Thank you so much for supporting both channels! 🥰
Love this new channel, share more what you see and what you think in a casual way 👉❤️
Thank you our #1 fan, always supporting us! 🥰
My husband and I are enjoying your new channel. We are always looking for new posts each week. Congrats and looking forward to seeing more of your posts.
Thank you so much! Now you'll see us twice a week 😊
You guys are amazing ❤
We love you two! Congrats on the new channel 🚀
Thank you for the love and support! 🥰
love that you guys are starting this podcast!! we get to see more of you, the behind-the-scenes of your lives, and a more casual setting. thanks for sharing :)
We're happy you're excited for this too! Thank you 🙏😍
Love you guys and sharing your thoughts makes you closer to your viewers. Loved your honesty about each other.. That's what makes you guys special..Will follow this channel with as much as excitement as your other channel.. You guys rock!!!
😀
We also hope to connect with our viewers more so thank you for supporting us here too!
My wife and I are pretty new to creating travel content, but traveling has been a passion of ours for years! Last year, we decided to start our own UA-cam channel to share our adventures, and honestly, we had no idea where to even begin-gear, editing, publishing, the whole thing was overwhelming. Then we came across your channel, and it’s been such an inspiration! We love the way you guys vibe with each other, plus your editing style and soundtrack choices are always on point. Keep up the amazing work, and good luck with your new podcast channel. ❤
Good for you guys! It's fun to capture the moments and later watch it together to relive the memories. We just posted episode 2 of the podcast where we share our UA-cam journey - the struggles and lessons learned! Maybe what we talk about will resonate with you guys 😉
@@OTR_FloraandNote thank you so much. we will watch the second episode now. ❤
Hi Flora and Note, this is my first time commenting on UA-cam channel, me and my boyfriend never miss watching every one of your videos.
We both love all your content and all the effort that both of you have put in.
I hope you guys don't mind sharing with us how both of are able to stay fit with your busy schedules and traveling.
Love ya both!!!!
We’re so honoured and so happy you decided to leave us a comment! Keeping fit has actually been a struggle lately and we’re trying to implement some changes.. we can definitely share more about that.
I was thinking about traveling or moving to Thailand and came across your channel. I can't believe I have been following your other channel for a year. Love you guys and your channel.
Thank you so much!
My first marriage failed because we spent too much time together. Codependency is not healthy. An occasional break from one another will lead to a new chapter in your personal growth.
After my second wife died suddenly, I found myself able to cope and carry on only because we had regular intervals of being on our own due to our various jobs. Had we not done that, I know I would have just crawled into a ball and slowly died.
Keep up the great content, guys. Your Central Asia series was very inspiring! ❤
We're sorry to hear about your loss but thankful to you for sharing your story and learnings with us.
We're sorry to hear about your loss but thankful to you for sharing your story and learnings with us.
brother, everyone is not you
Hey! Love from China❤My BF and i love to watch your videos, and get so much travel inspiration! The most common I saw on the Bilibili channel, was "Your guys are so smooth, even when you encounter something that does not meet your expectations, you guys always stay optimistic(情绪稳定)" I'm really curious about this part, and wish could discuss more in the future
Haha the direct translation is so funny, that we’re emotionally stable. I think we can definitely talk about that more and about the times when we struggle to keep it together.
All the best for your new channel guys❤🎉
Thank you 😊
Just got notice of your new channel. You’re telling it like it is. Great stuff! Keep up the good work. You will grow this channel quick, I do believe.
Thanks for the encouragement!
I was the 1000th subscriber :D Love your videos! Looking forward to more fun conversations here!
Yay!! Thank you 🎉☺️
Hey guys! We came from the main channel.
Looking forward to hear more about your new home in Thailand. How to overcome the struggle as a 24/7 working + living couple. Fully support with your 2nd channel which let us get to know more the real life of you two 😎💕
Happy to see your comment here too! We're saving up for the home build 😉 It'll be another test for our relationship to build a home together haha
All the very best. Thank you for sharing your insights into your travels...
Thank you so much 🙏🏻 We look forward to sharing more travel stories here.
Love this couple❤ You guys rock!
I love the mindset you both have. I'm turning 40 next year, I've worked for the same company for 18 years, my Dad died in May of this year and I still live with my Mum. My parents never encouraged me to travel and have never understood why I started to travel solo and why I love it so much.
It took me years to realise that I wasn't living the life I wanted but since starting therapy and grief counseling I'm also realising that my biggest fear has always been disappointing my them so I've never taken risks and trusted myself enough to make huge changes.
Taking steps to change your life when you're not happy is such a big thing and I admire you both for taking that leap and working so hard together.
A therapist friend of mine said “always take the path that scares you the most. It will make you grow the most”
We're sorry to hear about your loss and thank you for being so brave and honest sharing your journey with us. We can relate with that feeling of not wanting to disappoint our parents. I think we both studied abroad because we physically needed the distance from them to feel like we can live for ourselves, but that doesn't mean we don't love them. In fact, I think we love them so much and care about what they think too much. Enjoy your solo travels and hope you find joy in all the little things in life ❤
So excited for your new channel and to hear y’all just chat more! My partner and I watched your videos to prepare for our trip to Vietnam and we had a blast!! Y’all have inspired us to move overseas as well! :)
That’s amazing! We’re also looking to return to Vietnam later this year to visit places we haven’t been yet like Nha Trang and Dalat. Where are you guys deciding to move to?
We're moving to Da Nang! We accidently ended up there on our trip when we switched from an overnight train to a quick flight and were like "this is it!!" :) @OTR_FloraandNote
Love the new podcast channel. It’s clear that the both of you have a strong love for each other. It’s also clear that Note is dedicated to Flora since his day is not the same without her. That said, sometimes a relationship grows stronger when time is spent away from each other. Flora’s interest in solo travel could work if the trips are short in duration so as to minimize her time away from Note. Life is what one makes of it, sometimes taking a risk leads to new opportunities, direction, and experiences. Like your channels, one never knows unless one tries. I would love to see more discussion on your relationships, how you determine where to travel to, the research required to make the trips successful, and if you will be traveling to other parts of the world outside of Asia. Keep up the great work!
Thank you and we agree, we can work out the solo trips to make it more fun for both - maybe we explore the same country or same city but separately. We are looking into exploring parts of Europe next year!
I’m really happy to hear you are expanding your direction because I consistently and anxiously wait for each new episode to release! I’m 💯 the new content will be the same! Thanks for being an inspiration.
(BTW the irony that I’m currently reading Kerouac’s OTR just makes this uncanny)
Thank you for the boost of confidence!
Lovely video. You share your journey so genuinely with us.
I'll never forget stumbling upon your Chiang Mai street food under $10 video (that was your 2nd upload) while researching for my Chiang Mai trip. I ended up binge-watching your content and subscribed in 2022. So proud seeing how much you've grown without losing your authenticity. ❤
That means so much to us! Thank you 😊🙏
hey Flora & Note in new podcast mode.. enjoyed listening to you, and get to know you a bit better.. lets see, what future will bring..
Happy to see your comment here as well! We hope this channel will keep evolving and one day we can invite other creators here to share their stories too.
@@OTR_FloraandNote fine, lets see.. other creators or just interesting people (if you dare😍) ..
I am loving your second channel as well keep up the good work
Thank you so much for support us :)
I subscribed to your main channel when you were doing contents in Koh Samui and i really enjoyed it so much because the way you did those videos was so much funs and also Thailand is always one of my favorite and to be honest I am enjoying even more now.
Looking forward to your video in your new channel.
It means a lot to us that you continued to watch us in other places outside of Thailand! Thank you Lee 😊
Thanks for sharing your guys 心路历程! mindset along the journey to be content creators❤❤❤
Thanks for watching! 😁
Flora! You are speaking to my heart about the job thing! Drives me crrrraaazyyy when I'm not able to fix something that desperately needs it. Exactly what resulted in me getting let go from my previous job and really catapulting our family to travel and work remotely and make our own UA-cam channel. Thank you for saying that! I'm not alone, yay!!
This is exactly why we wanted to start this podcast! I’m glad you resonate with what I’m saying and it gives me confidence to continue sharing our experiences and journey 😁
Follow you from the main channel and look forward to discussing and knowing more about your journey as a UA-camr, the type of struggles, how to balance your daily life and stay motivated
We look forward to sharing more of those things as well! Thank you for subscribing to the podcast 😃
@OTR_FloraandNote you are most welcome. I am your fan and I am a beginner as a UA-camr too.
Already loving this new channel. ❤🎉
Thank you 😍
Suggestion: Do an episode for each county that you guys visited. It would be interesting to hear your discussion, feedback and perspectives as a traveler and foreigner and hear your experiences in those countries - especially those that were not captured in the episodes.
Yeah, that could be interesting. We'll add it to the topic list 😉 What country are you interested in hearing more about?
@@OTR_FloraandNote Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬, my home country 😊 Do that while the iron is hot and your memories are still fresh 😊
Love this idea and podcast. It shows and share more of you guys as a real couple living life together! It shows more of both of your personalities and realness. I think this really enhance your main channel. Your personalities and rawness are always present in your travel channel but this really opens up to the next level. Glad to listen to you guys and get to know you more through this podcast. Love you guys and your content and I hope our paths crossed one day. It would be really cool to hang out with Note. Keep it going and keep up the great work!
Note is pretty fun to hang out with - that's why I'm still sticking around! 😂 We really appreciate your comment. We also hope this space can give a more wholesome view of our travels and lifestyle.
Always enjoy your video content! Keep going guys👍💪🏻😊
Thank you 🙏🏻☺️
i cannot imagine u guys fighting at all! 😅 u both seem so chill and very compatible ☺️
The fighting probably helped get our feelings out in the open so we can work through them. That’s why we’re compatible now 😂
I found this really interesting guys. I am going thru my own major life changing transition at the moment in preparation to move to Thailand. I am ready to sell everything and move but am overwhelmed with the physical work getting that done.
That’s a huge decision! It will be worth the work 😉 You just need to get the momentum started
You guys make such great content. My wife and I love your videos. We would love to show you around South Africa someday 😊
We’ll make it there one day! Hope we can take up your offer then 😄🙏🏻
I don't really understand why you have done a separate channel but I've subscribed anyway ❤❤🙏🙏🙏
We appreciate you subscribing to our new channel. It's a different audience that's interested in us behind the scenes of traveling so it needed its own space. That's why we created this channel.
Where about did you study and work in Australia? Fellow Australian here, love you guys. So glad I discovered your channel.
We’re so happy you found us too! We met at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. I completed my Bachelor’s there and Note came from Canada for a 6 months exchange. We were neighbours 😂
Come from your main channel great video guys ❤
Thanks for watching! 😃
Guys U r awesome !..
we really enjoyed this podcast and so glad you covered this! it's good to know that fighting more (to an extent) with your partner over work and content creation is normal haha. what is your main consideration/s when you guys think about what kind of content to create or destinations to visit? an idea on a podcast topic could be what the issues you ran into when you first started vlogging and how you overcame them!
Glad you guys enjoyed it! We just filmed episode 2 and talked about just that - our vlogging journey and what we wish we knew.
Loving the new channel already, really going to be cool getting the background insights. One thing i've always wondered, when you're enjoying the sea wherever you are, what do you do with your belongings, and have you ever had them stolen? I'm always super paranoid about leaving anything on the beach unattended.
We're glad to hear you're excited for this too! Actually I'm (Flora) super paranoid about leaving our things unattended too.. so I try not to bring important things (like jewelry, credit cards, IDs) to the beach and we keep our stuff in sight. For the most part in Thailand/Vietnam, it's pretty safe and we never had anyone try to take our stuff before.
@OTR_FloraandNote glad to hear it's not just me that's paranoid about it! Was thinking one interesting thing to talk about in later episodes could be your go-to travel kits. Anything no traveller should go without (you could even see if any of your preferred brands fancy sponsoring)
สู้สู้!!!
Interesting chat with some great insights. I’m a long time follower of your main channel and love your videos. Did you have any contingency plans if it hadn’t worked out? How long do you see it lasting? I mean, do you still see yourself doing this in say 10 years time? I hope so. I enjoy travelling vicariously with you both!
That's an interesting question that we don't really have an answer to 😂 But we can share our thoughts behind it in another video! Thanks for your support here!
Key takeaways I preserved:
No guaranteed formula: Relationships require ongoing effort and adaptation.
Experimentation is crucial: Trying new things helps you learn what works best for you.
Communication is essential: Open and honest dialogue helps you understand each other's needs.
Time apart can be beneficial: It allows for individual growth and reflection.
Reflection is valuable: Looking back on your experiences helps you learn and grow.
best wishes to both of you and i hope this won't put Note on extended KFC diet!
All of those are so important 😊💕
@@OTR_FloraandNote KFC diet as well? lol
It's refreshing hearing the struggles and the stories behind you guys' journey from all the videos and adventures. And it's so admirable that you guys know how to prioritize relationship over youtube channels. Certain things are more important than money and fame. I think i started watching you guys when you guys had 10k-20k subs. You guys have been genuine and wholesome. I could feel it from the videos. If you guys faked it, then you guys should try out acting haha. All in all, i've watched a lot of travel vlog channels, and you guys brought the uniqueness that only you guys can bring out. Maybe i naturally like exploring the nature or camping like you guys LOL I'm like Note. not much of a city person. i hope you guys live happy, healthy, prosper, and may we one day see you guys debut your future children HAHA
Thank you, it really is the greatest compliment when you said that we have our own style as content creators. Once we realized it was much more fun to film when we were just being ourselves, then filming became easier.
@OTR_FloraandNote No, thank you for showing us your wonderful personalities. And for showing us the hidden gems and different sides to traveling. I still enjoy you guy's videos every Saturday haha. It's very calming and relax especially when there is too much going on in my life. 🙂

I wonder how you guys fight. U look so adorable. Hopefully you make podcasts to each country you visit. I love all your videos PLUS the accent, I dont have a hard time understanding it.
Hehehe Note is clingy just like my husband.
We’re lucky to have clingy husbands right? 😂
Still the best Kombucha I’ve ever tasted!!! And I’ve tried so many brands here in Australia and in Asia. Sometimes I wish you still make them. Hahaha
This is such a nice video of you guys so honest and personal. ❤
That means so much because you were our first kombucha customer! 🥰 Hope you’re doing well and we look forward to catching up with you one day!
Some of the most interesting experiences in life happen when the camera isn't turned on. With that in mind...
1) I want to hear some of your funniest travel experiences that weren't captured on film.
2) And likewise, I'd like to hear about some of your most difficult travel experiences that weren't captured on film.
Those are great questions! We’ll save it for another episode 😄👍
From main channel
Subscriber since fishing with Paddy Doyle in Koh Samui!
Can talk a little bit more on leaving Canada? Were the push factors burnt out, financials, cost of living etc?
And how was the initial settling in Thailand?
What were fought over the contents and how it came out that led to today's video style?
Wow that video was ages ago! Thanks for sticking around. We spoke about leaving Canada in this video because we were living separate lives but living in the same house. Cost of living wasn't as expensive back then as we left in 2017, so it was more of a personal decision to spend quality time together and travel before we have more responsibilities. We can certainly talk more about setting in Thailand next time!
Looking forward to continuing on the road with you guys.
I'ma loyal fan. Hey Note, you're scratching and picking at yourself too much. Otherwise, bon voyage!
Hahaha he got about 20 mosquito bites sitting there 😂 He took it for the team though, because I didn’t get any!
Great video. There is also an OTR Food History channel.
I would like to see some behind the scenes type podcast where you go through planning and then execution of a video series…
There seems to be a lot of interest in that so we’ll chat about that next 😊
Hello Flora and Note!
My partner and I are also starting the travel UA-camr journey. We've been hooked on your content, and always sit down on the sofa with a cup of tea or a coffee at the end of the day haha.
I love this honest podcast and have a few questions:
1. How do you guys find/choose specific activities you do while travelling? Eg. Google, recommendations, forums etc
2. What usually happens when you come to an impasse regarding your plans for a trip? What activities do you prioritise? E.g adventure, main attractions, hidden gems?
3. Do you think Note would flourish doing a solo mountain trek/camping? I feel like we're similar, and would enjoy a nice hike haha.
4. And lastly, we're going back to Samui, Phangan and Tao in January, would you like to meet for a coffee? Haha 😊
Thank you for all the questions, we have another podcast coming this coming Tuesday answering some of your questions. Enjoy Samui, me miss it so much but we wont be back until June
@@OTR_FloraandNote can't wait! 😁
Opposites attract ❤
It’s true, we are opposites in many ways 😅
When you guys moved to Koh Samui you did an episode on moving to Koh Samui. You guys did it, took the risks. I watched the episode numerous times I thought heck, if you guys can take the risk so can I. I got on some websites and bought a place in Samui site unseen. The agent was new to Samui, Canadian and showed me around the options. Worked out great. You guys are making some very good content. Kyrgyzstan?! Wow that’s way outside the standard beat and track! Also, If you guys didn’t disagree on occasion and couldn’t work out a solutions you would have quit long ago. See you in Samui one day
That's so crazy that you bought a place in Samui without even seeing it! Before we bought the piece of land in Samui, I think we went to see it 10 times and got to know all the neighbours before buying it. And one neighbour said she even prayed and sacrificed a chicken, and wished we would buy it because we seemed like nice people 😂
@@OTR_FloraandNote Well I ate some Gai Yang before deciding. And said ocean view ... here I come. For what it is worth, I think you guys made the right decision to buy now and not wait.
Subscribed!
This conversation is so interesting. Have you considered trying some weekend breaks apart to see how that works for you both? It would be interesting to see you both let loose in different areas of the same city etc to get an idea of your personalities and to see if you bump into each other in the places you visit. I love to travel but due to ill health I am now unable to work so my dream of travelling more and living in Thailand is difficult to believe will happen but I wont give up on the dream. When you move onto your land on Koh Samui and ever need a house sitter I would be happy to look after animals and plants etc (any excuse for me to get back to Koh Samui 😂) xx
That’s a good idea too - same city but explore solo. I think Note would like that idea 😂
Sounds like Flora wants more alone time...
Just a little bit after being together 24/7 for the last 7 years 😂
@@OTR_FloraandNote You should each try a trip with a family member/friend. Maybe get new ideas/perspective.
Flora and Note, I am a subscriber to both your channels. I just have two questions. Flora, what is your Chinese name? Note, what is your complete Thai name? Can you also share your answer on your next episode of "On the Road". Keep up the terrific content.
Somehow our full names seem like too much info to share. We don’t really use them unless it’s official documents so maybe best to keep those private 🤫
I think you can do traveling only one place for year and many UA-camrs do that. Many foreigners UA-camr make videos only in Thailand and has lots of subscribers
True, you don't have to keep traveling to make videos and make a living on UA-cam. But we love traveling! We just need to plan more breaks in between to give ourselves time to rest and work.
❤️❤️❤️
I have been married for 25 years and one rule we have is to always travel together. When I need some time alone I go out with my daughter, we go shopping, eat lunch, go get our nails done, and my husband is happy because he has time alone at home to workout , read, sleep and relax by himself. You are both very attractive and shouldn't put yourselves in a situation that you might meet someone else. Please travel together, don't go alone.
That's an interesting perspective and thank you for sharing it.
Cometo Okinawa next time
We would love to 😊
🐨👍❤️
Hi guys :) Thank you for sharing your journey with us! Love this kind of heart-to-heart conversation.
Could you share with us how you overcame the challenges when you first started vlogging? Some of us might share the same dream of starting a travel vlog (I’m one of them 😄) but are seriously struggling to find the courage to pull out the camera in public and just do it. Would love to hear some valuable tips and advice on this topic in your future podcast.
Also just want you to know that your influence extends far beyond your travel vlogs-you’ve genuinely had a positive impact on my life and many others, you guys are an inspiration! ❤️
That’s a great topic that we can dive deeper into next time. Talking to a camera isn’t easy for both of us so we know how you feel! Thank you for your kind words as well 🥰
second chanel = more $$$$$$, let's be honest
Another income source would be great of course! But this is also a new space that will allow us to share the behind the scenes learnings, stories and grow as a couple and as creators. It complements the other channel for those that are interested.
They could post it on their main channel and make more $ just from the network effects of having an already established audience. It's pretty bizarre when strangers on the internet act like weirdos by trying to criticize people for wanting to earn for things they do. When you're in a restaurant, do you tell the waitress, "you're just here for money!"? And do you think that person wouldn't rather be making money from something they want to do, other than serving your dumb a$$? Let's be honest: You're a loser. Losers think this way. Losers behave this way. This is how losers justify their own misery.
I see from a cursory Google search that you're a terminally online "self-employed" (unemployed) geriatric with a foreign wife who tried and failed to do travel influencer content so wherever you see success where you failed you relate it back to the thing you wanted out of it but didn't get. Let's be honest. If you could have hacked it you wouldn't be here, and if I threw $20 your way to jump you'd ask how high. But you're here. "Honesty" is kind of like a mirror. Shows strange things when we look at our own reflection.
