I think Tourism Australia missed the perfect opportunity to advertise our home to the world. Your video logs have presented Australia better than I've seen our own Tourism industry attempts. Both of you, in my insignificant opinion, will always be Aussies to those of us who follow your travels around the world. But know that you both will always be welcomed back any time you choose (or can afford to do so). Sincerely, one very grateful Aussie. 🇦🇺🦘🐨

@@nilishaverma4887Stop complaining. You stated that you made the decision to move to Australia (from Europe) now you complain about how far Australia is from Europe. Fun fact for you it has always been the same distance. Instead of wanting to travel back to Europe all the time how about holidaying in Australia and get to seeing places that made you decide to come to Australia in the first place

    Brilliant - thank you.
A poem by Dorothea Mackellar written when she visited England in 1908 ............
The love of field and coppice,
    Of green and shaded lanes.
    Of ordered woods and gardens
    Is running in your veins,
    Strong love of grey-blue distance
Brown streams and soft dim skies
I know but cannot share it,
    My love is otherwise.
    I love a sunburnt country,
    A land of sweeping plains,
    Of ragged mountain ranges,
    Of droughts and flooding rains.
    I love her far horizons,
    I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror -
The wide brown land for me!
    A stark white ring-barked forest
    All tragic to the moon,
    The sapphire-misted mountains,
The hot gold hush of noon.
    Green tangle of the brushes,
    Where lithe lianas coil,
    And orchids deck the tree-tops
And ferns the warm dark soil.
Core of my heart, my country!
    Her pitiless blue sky,
When sick at heart, around us,
We see the cattle die -
But then the grey clouds gather,
    And we can bless again
    The drumming of an army,
    The steady, soaking rain.
Core of my heart, my country!
    Land of the Rainbow Gold,
For flood and fire and famine,
She pays us back threefold -
    Over the thirsty paddocks,
    Watch, after many days,
    The filmy veil of greenness
    That thickens as we gaze.
    An opal-hearted country,
    A wilful, lavish land -
All you who have not loved her,
    You will not understand -
    Though earth holds many splendours,
    Wherever I may die,
I know to what brown country
    My homing thoughts will fly.
    -- Dorothea Mackellar

That wonderful poem speaks to me.
Born in Europe in the middle of the last century
Living here and learning to love this place so deeply.
Going 'home' and discovering this wide brown land is where my heart and dreams have come to rest.

I love the Dorethea Mackellar poem, but I want to put in a plug for this part of Banjo Patterson's poem Clancy of the Overflow:
"And the bush hath friends to meet him, and their kindly voices greet him
In the murmur of the breezes and the river on it bars,
And he sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended,
And at night the wondrous glory of the everlasting stars"
This is what I think of on those long Australian roadtrips

    Dear Tia & Cheveyo,
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love letter to my country. Never have I seen Australia's beauty so faithfully represented, from the rugged beauty of her landscapes, to the cultural idiosyncrasies (TIM TAM SLAM LET'S GOOOO). It is comforting to know that such a representation exists on the internet for all to see, to show all that Australia is more than dangerous heat, dangerous critters, and dangerous language.
On another note, the tragic reality is that it is so easy to forget the majesty of the incredible country we live in. This love letter is not only a teaching tool for those outside Australia, but a valuable reminder for those inside.
I'm glad you found this place like home. Here's hoping you can visit again someday.
    Love,
    An Australian
    P.S. Sweet postcard Tia.

I have missed watching your regular videos over the past few weeks. I'm pleased that you managed to compile one last video that summarises your time spent in Australia. After watching all of your "Aussie" videos I believe you have come to not only understand, but appreciate, what is at the "heart" of Australia and why it is such an amazing country. So many international tourists dare not venture far from a major city and never get to experience what the two of you put so much time and effort into discovering. I am happy that you enjoyed your visit. I thank you for treating our country with respect. In my opinion, you are top human beings and you are welcome to return any time you can. I look forward to watching your future videos. Have fun and stay safe.

Hi kids. Glad to hear from you again. I hope you choose to come once again to travel our great and remarkable land.
On one of my trips around this country I stopped for a break whilst travelling across the perfectly flat featureless ( dead straight ) Nullarbor plain, only to walk into the saltbush scrub 100 metres from the road to discover all kinds of unexpected things at my feet. Seashells . . . Thousands of them in the loose dusty sandy soil. Millions and millions of years ago the entire Nullarbor plain was in fact the seabed. Tech tonic shifts in the island continent has raised the island continent leaving behind the great Australian Bite.
It’s one thing to travel and see the sights. It’s another to look deeper with open eyes.

Loved these Aus videos. Can't wait to make the move permanently. Like you guys I felt the same about Australia, after doing a few road trips there, can't put my finger on it how it made me feel. I'm from the UK and live in London but thankfully i used my Nursing profession to gain my Australia permanent residency last year. Just waiting to make the move , hopefully within the next few months. I was staying in UK as my dear cat who I planned to take with me to aus became sick, sadly she passed last month so ill be going yo Aus without her but looking forward to new adventure.

    • @dee-smart
      @dee-smart 2 місяці тому

I think your dear cat's soul knew that you were going and decided to use that exit point to leave. No-one dies, we just transition. Some decide to reincarnate and many have for this monumental time in the universe's history with earth beings ascending at the same time as mother earth herself. Normally a planet's beings have to die (transition) leave the body before the ascension, but we are all going to experience 5D earth soon and our bodies are going to be changing while we are here to a certain percentage crystalline. As for your cat, he or she left to pursue another life or take a break from lives. As we live eternally, he or she is fine - we are eternal light and energy beings. The shell/vessel/avatar/body is not us -just needed in this 3D simulation. By the way a warm welcome to you when you finally make it here.

What a beautiful title for this episode. And you had me crying tears of so many emotions right from “Dear Australia”. You have been to many beautiful parts of our country, seen so many wonderful things, but sometimes it’s more about ‘the feeling’ isn’t it, a feeling that’s hard to describe and I know you truly felt that here.
