    Sony has released two cameras that have received a lot of attention. First is the ZV-E10, and then came the a6700. All I can say is 'wow.' This camera checks almost every block a photographer/videographer wants and needs. From using it since it was released, it has proven to be excellent in video and exceptional in stills. The A74, which I sold, couldn't beat the a6700 in photography. And I did a lot of pixel peeping just to see if the A74 was a better camera. The a6700 proved to be better than the A74. The a6700 is keeping my A7R3 company, both happy campers, doing what they are designed to do.

      I use both the A7iv and the A6700 with the 70-200 f2.8 GM2 for photos only, shooting mostly runners.
      Definition with the A7iv is better. When focus is correct, if you zoom in the picture is sharp until it pixelates. It is not as good with the A6700.
      The A6700 autofocus is slightly better but cannot be considered reliable. For both camera is seems to perform well for smooth movements like surfing or long jump, but running is a problem.
      Automatic white balance is tremendously improved with the A6700.
      I'm going to sell both when the A9iii and the R5ii are available.

      @benoittissier58 in image performance there is some difference between apsc and full frame. For photos I have always likes full frame since it gives a sharp but not over sharpened look. With autofocus - I would consider a6700 reliable since any other camera I have ever used feels pretty sloppy when using wide AF area, and this camera is the first one that is not confused and is usable using that mode. Using other more specific AF areas will result in better performances. A bug downside I believe is no joystick for sports photography

      How is the performance in low light photography compared to a FF e.g. A7c. Is it better than A6400?

    • @benoittissier58
      @benoittissier58 10 місяців тому

      @@matiss.skujins I've been using spot tracking modes only with the A6700 since my experience with wide area on the A7iv has been terrible. I've also had repeated failures with the A6700. I have yet to try the non tracking smaller areas.
      On the A6700, the Dpad is the joystick : press the center button and you can move your focus area, press the center button again and you can use the Dpad functions.

      Thank you brother, much appreciated! To be honest it really depends if you find yourself in low light situations a lot. If you do - full frame, no questions about it. But if you don't - I seriously would recommend this camera. Full frame is a safe option, but at a cost.

    This is by far my favorite Sony A6xxx camera and also the best APS-C camera available today. If Fuji has better AF it would be a tighter competition, but as it stands Sony is light years better. All lenses are sharper. The only thing Fuji has is bdtter colors without having to post process and better stabilization.

    • @matiss.skujins
      @matiss.skujins  3 місяці тому

      Although I have not extensively used fuji, in my opinion it is just a different camera. Fuji is a really fun camera for hobbyists but I find sony to deliver more consistency. I do love the fuji lenses, they’re quite good looking and innovative. But I would still pick sony for my use case

    • @Princeton_James
      @Princeton_James 3 місяці тому

      @@matiss.skujins yeah I have one Fuji left- the XH1. That's seems more than the newer stuff. They are fun but I can't fully rely on it for events or paid stuff, but if I feel that way then I should steer clear because even for personal stuff, unless it's landscape then you cannot always retake the pictures.

      The autofocus and lenses choices definitely make it good for entry / mid range wedding photography, but if you do it seriously - I would consider investing in a full frame like a7 iii / a7 iv with a 24-70 f2.8 zoom. That combo will get you through all the weddings and afterwards you can invest in other products that creatively express you!

    been using the A6700 since release I find the lowlight performance to be ok. Not on par with FF but it still not bad at all. Especially with AI nowadays so noise isnt really an issue and I typically dont go over 3200 and I do not find any instances where I need anything beyond that too.

    • @matiss.skujins
      @matiss.skujins  Рік тому

      Thank u brother for the feedback!! Well they have a lot of similarities in photo department, but the video is where a6700 shines. It will deliver higher quality videos with better autofocus, better colors, ibis, longer battery life and better rolling shutter. However even with all these upgrades, for most users who just want to record 4k and take photos - both cameras share similar build quality and similar results for most daily cases. Id say that a6700 is a perfected a6300, but the a6300 is still no slouch and is a good stepping stone to get into cameras. You can get the a6300 used, pair it with good lenses over time and then when you’re ready - get the a6700 (might even drop in price when you do)

      It truly depends on what you plan on doing. A7 III is one of my favourite photography cameras of all time, but the video is a bit outdated if you plan on doing professional work. A6700 is so good for video but struggles with noise when doing photography, especially in low light!

      The A7C II only makes sense if you also want to buy smaller lenses which usually are not the fastest. If you already have some bigger lenses you might be looking at - I would rather choose the a7IV. If small is what you are looking for - a6700 offers that with its lens selection.

      @alexthemle ive used all of those lenses before and they truly are light and medium size. If your budget allows you to - the a7C ii with those lenses will be more universal and will give you better results than the a6700. If you however find yourself in a more budget section - a6700 is great in that regard!
