QuickFix | How To Remove and Install a Shift Knob On Audi S3 | RS3 | A3 & more!

Here's a QuickFix video on how to remove your shift knob and replace with a new one or aftermarket. This is done on a 2017 Audi S3 the process should be very similar for most Audi / Volkswagen vehicles especially on the MQB platform.

Do you need a new shift boot as well or just a shift knob thinking about doing this to my A3

I think it would be preferable if you can find one with the boot. Just makes the switch over easier. But the new boot isn't needed you can detach it from the original

Your red trim ring broke too eh? I was wondering if there was a way to replace that.

Yes mine broke randomly just one day the piece fell off. I tried to source the red ring but they don't sell the piece separately, it's sold as one unit with the shifter which is very expensive
