    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  2 роки тому

      Hi
      Many women can experience the odd night sweat after periods have stopped. These can be caused by a number of reasons such as stress, coffee or alcohol in the evening, dehydration, high salt/sugar foods with your evening meal or evening snacks or even low blood sugars in the night. Maybe do a food/drink diary for a few weeks and when you get the sweats and you may find a trigger!

      That's all normal though-we are all like that. It's sad, but at the same time, we sure kicked BUTT back in the day, right? I can feel muscles weakening, and getting the chub at waistline, have lost over half my hair at 46. We all go through this together-we are in the twilight years. Keep staying active and you will still be walking miles at 80!

      Hi Mari
      We do find that many women can have a good life after the menopause! If you feel that you've been struggling for a long time then it could be that other health issues have crept in and are prolonging the transition. Always a good idea to get a health check if this is happening just to rule out other conditions such as vitamin D or B12 deficiency, under/overactive thyroid function, low iron, diabetes or heart disease as all of these can cause symptoms that are identical to menopause ones!

    I went into surgical menopause since 2015. So I assume I am now considered post menopause. Why do doctors not distinguished the difference between menopause and post menopause? It was not natural or gradual. I had a hysterectomy and lost all of my hormones.
    Just had sacropoplexy surgery and recovering. Atrophy caused it (lack of estrogen which is menopausal symptom) and I also had a hysterectomy in 2015. Never thought I would be in this situation yet here I am.
    Women who are glowing in post menopause are probably taking estrogen. A womans body needs it to prevent post menopausal diseases like heart attack, osteoporosis, and alzheimers disease.

    Any suggestions....I’m 46 without period since 2015... coffee seems to increase flashes but as a teacher I have come to depend on a small cup each morning or I feel lethargic in the morning and a bit snappy/crabby to everyone around me. Are the mood changes permanent? I find that I am a “beast” compared to how I use to be when I was younger...then I begin to feel bad like “ Wow I’m becoming pretty difficult to be around”....🤔😳

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  3 роки тому

      Hi T
      Unfortunately, coffee is really addictive and your body can notice a difference even if you stop 1 cup!
      Most women find that their mood stabilises but you can help it along by taking a magnesium supplement and something like Valerian or Passionflower as these are known to calm the mood.
      Learning to do slow deep breathing can also be really effective and stop mood swings quickly.

    The one and only problem that I have really experienced has been mainly achy sore arthritic like symptoms in my hands, which didn't start until my first year of perimenopause. Last year I had no period at all and maybe just 3-4 full periods and just spotting here and there. I have not experienced any other major symptoms like most women and I eat a very healthy diet. Maybevi should drink a little more water during the day as well. My question is if I think that I'm post menopausal at this particular time, can I still experience sore achy hand joints and swelling due to hormonal imbalances? I was also wandering if too much salt can swell your hands and make them achy and sore as well?

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  Рік тому

      Hi Monica, some women can be more prone to aches and pains after menopause but that doesn't mean it's normal or inevitable. Drinking more water could definitely help. Too much salt can dehydrate you further and contribute to swelling. I would suggest upping your water and trying out Atrosan Devil's Claw tablets. www.avogel.co.uk/herbal-remedies/devils-claw-atrosan/

    I am so grateful to find this site.🙏🏾 I have been trying to find out why at 65 I am having menopausal symptoms. I just really started having hot flashes about a year ago. Because I have afib the doctors say I cannot take anything that would help the menopause. A Dr I went to this week says it's highly unlikely that my symptoms are menopausal at my age. So between the body aching,The Hot Flashes, the heat intolerance and the other issues I deal with I have too many days lacking energy, focus and just feeling bad with headaches,body aches with osteoarthritis and such.. I had a partial hysterectomy 6 yrs ago. Is there anything that you can suggest Pleaseeeee!

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  2 роки тому

      Hi G.G.
      Did your doctor do any tests for you? Other health issues such as poor thyroid function, low vitamin D, low B12, diabetes and heart disorders can cause similar symptoms post-menopause. If not, then it is a good idea to ask just to rule them out. In the meantime you may find sage can help with the flushes and I would suggest an over-fifties women's supplement which can often be helpful. Remember to drink lots of plain water daily as dehydration (possibly caused by the flushes) can be a factor in all these symptoms!

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  4 роки тому

      Hi RB,
      We tend to say that after two years of having no periods, any symptoms that remain, are less likely to be the result of fluctuating hormones. At this stage, as you rightly point out, there could be other factors having a part to play, including a stressed nervous system, an underactive thyroid or nutrient deficiencies - vitamin D, especially, is a really common one. Additional tests with your doctor may be useful if things still don’t start to improve.

Previous test low b12 advised injection, I said no, I have severe allergies so prefer dietary supplements higher quality. Now being told practice want annual blood test only, end of. I've lost faith in the GP ( profit from pharmaceutical co ? and the NHS) am trying to save money for private blood tests. It's appalling . I had a hard time understanding or wanting to believe that my body has changed. So I still wanted so bad to fit into clothes that I wore not that long ago. Well the bad thing really is the fact that I don't have any money right now for all new close so I what I do get I really have to make sure fit well. Not just looking at it and thinking it's going to fit.

    Hello thank you so much for all your helpful videos. I am 55 and had a partial hysterectomy last year leaving my ovaries. My question is now that I don’t have menses to tell me if I’m in menopause, do you think buying an ovulation kit to test urine would be a good indicator of an LH surge happening when ovulating? Once I am in menopause I no longer ovulate so am I correct in assuming if the test is never positive that I am not ovulating? Thank you

    These symptoms seem to last forever more! I am type 2, have hypothyroidism and high cholesterol so maybe it was these health issues that were causing the symptoms all along? Menopause is, and has always been, part of life. Maybe we should do the best we can and feel lucky as many others have serious health complaints to contend with. My menopause lasted 16 years I'm 7 years post (according to the blood test they give you) it's not pleasant but I'm still here a grandmother with lots to be grateful for. Hope you all feel the same? 🤗

      Hi Kimberly
      There could be a number of reasons for this such as general fatigue, dehydration, low blood sugars, low blood pressure or even having a caffeine drink shortly beforehand. If you get this feeling regularly, then it may be a good idea just to speak to your doctor to rule out low blood pressure.

It’s so amazing regaining my health back to normal and ridding my body of Herpes. Hi
      LH helps with the release of an egg from the ovaries, if your level increases this can indicate that you are in the menopause.
      Low oestrogen tends to cause symptoms such as anxiety and fear so you may find a plant oestrogen such as fermented soya or Black Cohosh helpful. I would suggest asking at your local herb store for a hormone balancing herb for the menopause and they should be able to help you.
      Good to hear that the videos are helping you, thank you for watching!

      @AvogelCoUk  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Nadia
      Keeping blood sugar levels stable can often help with fatigue so make sure that you eat little and often but not high salt and sugar foods and caffeine drinks as these can make symptoms worse. Nuts and seeds, a small amount of dried fruit, or plain yogurt can often help as mid meal snacks and have plenty of protein and some healthy fats at every meal.

      Hi
      It's so very difficult to give up these things on your own, especially when you rely on them to help you manage stress and poor sleep. I would suggest hypnotherapy, which can often be really effective. An experienced practitioner will also be able to help you manage stress and to cope better. It can be done! :)

      I'm afraid that we can't offer this kind of treatment on UA-cam as you would really need a face-to-face consultation with a healthcare professional. Have you looked at treatment such as NLP or EFT, if hypnotherapy doesn't work, as these practitioners can teach you specific techniques to help you through this? Just Google for practitioners near you.

    My theory is:
    Nature directs men to have little attraction to swiftly depreciating post menopausal women as they cannot breed. The older the woman, the less the sexual attraction. Just my observation as a mere male.
    And, I’m not a misogynist as my two ex spouses attest. I try so hard to keep them at bay. It’s trying though !!
