- Trapping season is the pinnacle of the year for the woodsman! In this video we will go over how to set Havahart style cage traps for Raccoons or other small game. I will go over how I create cubby set with these traps that produces animals consistently. Live food never spoils so small game trapping with live traps is a good practice.

Your wife is going to twist your ear for using the pillow cases 😁 You trapping for the fur , meat or both ? That’s great bringing your daughter. Start that connection with nature as early as possible. Enjoyed watching. Y’all have a blessed evening
Thank you so much John! Mainly I am doing this as practice, experiment and to teach my daughter things about wildlife. She isn't quite ready for dispatching and processing yet but the time will come. I am glad she enjoys being out there so much and gets excited every time we have a catch. Thank you for tuning in and blessings to you and yours!
Neat video !!!
Thank you!
Your daughter is adorable.
(Obviously she takes after her mother).
Thank you Jim :) Her nickname is Daddy Jr although that is based on her personality more than looks possibly lol!
Great video. I like catch and release. But what a nice hat it would make . Oh the mittens. A bag. Food throw that in your Bush pot eating good in the the woods. God bless. From Glenn CATT in Massachusetts.
I am with you Glenn! So many nice possibilities :) Thank you for tuning in and God bless!
@@blackhatbushcraft your welcome Matt. Can't wait for another cooking video. From Glenn CATT in Massachusetts.
Ive caught a lot of coons in those traps around my chicken coop. Ive seen them pull so much mud into the trap that there was no more room to move around lol, had to hose it off to get them out.
They are funny how they do that. They just make themselves right at home in there :) These traps a definitely a viable option depending on the species you are targeting. Thank you for tuning in!

I have two different sturdy traps but somehow Raccoons managed to escape multiple times. They get away from the very corner bottom of the doors. Any suggestions?
By the time you put in the video.
Hey daddy... can we keep that one? He is so cute!
Sure honey, we can keep it.
What are we going to name him, Daddy?
We name him dinner, sweetheart!
LOL! She might not be happy with that :) She would however LOVE to keep him as a pet! She wants every animal to become a pet lol!
Remember going to a small town rodeo several years back. During the kids calf raising contest one of the girls had named her animal “Freezer Baby”. I’m sure by now that kid has grown up to make some fellow a great no nonsense partner. 🐄🥩🇨🇱
@@blackhatbushcraft My daughter was the same. Great times. Enjoy them while they are young!
@@cedarbrake1309 Awesome!
I want lunch
LOL! I actually had raccoon and possum this past weekend.
