Hi there! When my Dad was alive he lived with me on 6 1/2 acres in Maryland . We had not only a fireplace in the living room ,but we also had a HUGE wood stove in the basement that was piped into the air handler and would heat the house if need be. I loved working on my “toys”. Log splitter, snowblower, tractor and chainsaws! But now I live in Florida I only have a zero turn mower,Kawasaki mule, and of course my chainsaw! I am a 68 yr old (woman)

When I was a teenager one of my best friends dad bought an old walnut orchard that was being replaced and we cut and hauled wood for three months. The equipment you have would have been so much help. All we had was chainsaws and an old ford pickup. Every time I watch one of your wood cutting videos my back hurts a little bit more brining back the memories of that summer. Keep up the great work and videos. Have a great summer and stay safe from your subscriber here in sunny California👨🏻‍🚒🇺🇸

Thanks Mike. Looking good Melissa. Up here yesterday ( Tues. ), I had 72° @ 1:00 pm & 77° @ 5:00 pm when I called it quits on DAY (23) of my windshear event above the pond. I have 90% of my view back on the pond now, looking at it from the porch. Wolfe Ridge made contact with me from yesterday's presentation & they indeed will be in VT come spring. I won't miss that event...
A tremendous piece of equipment Mike as it did exactly what one would expect of it... Glad to see you oiled the chain & the (8) zerk fittings around the machine is an easy number to remember too...

I've been watching your show almost from the beginning and it was like looking at my self from the beginning of my firewood business 40 plus years ago. all by hand with a chainsaw and splitting mall and an old truck. Saved up enough to buy a used splitter and worked up to newer ones over the years. finally got a tractor 5 years ago then the grapple never could manage to come up with a conveyer. Well time has caught up to me now and were down sizing to a smaller place so this is my last year for firewood should be all done by October. I know I'll miss it so if you don't mind I think I'll live vicariously through you and Malissa. Thanks much for your channel.

I started out with a 32' modified hay conveyor to load my dump truck to get it to my outdoor wood furnace. No worries until I started selling prepared firewood. Now I have to measure it volume-wise, which means having to handle it two more times (1. stacking it into a known size stack in order to charge correctly, and 2. getting the stacked wood to the customer). Mike, how do you do it? I stack it into two racks directly from the splitter which total 4'x8' and place those racks onto a flatbed using forks on a skid steer. Then stack from the flatbed at the customer location.

Great set-up, Mike! I was expecting it would cost more than that. One thing I would adjust now is the table at the end of the splitter. Now that you don't need someone there to pick the split wood at an easy waist hight, I would slope the table downwards so the split wood just slides down into the conveyor hopper instead of building up on the splitter table. Make the angle adjustable maybe..

When you were oiling the chain for the first time and the chain was - CLICK - CLICK - CLICK - CLICK - I thought I was on the THUNDERBOLT going up the first hill. For the folk older than the Morgans it was called the Pipin back in the 1960s. The Thunderbolt / Pipin is a wooden roller coaster at Kennywood. For you NON-YINZERS ( non Pittsburghers ) Kennywood is a amusement park that has been around since 1899. They also have the latest and greatest steel coasters but the old wooden coasters are the best [ Thunderbolt, The Jack rabbit, The Racer ]. I am too fat to fit the rides now but closing the park on a summer evening is a great memory. Thanks for the video, don't work too hard - go swimming with Melissa and don't look at the pile of logs next to your neighbors pool. [ Why would anyone think about firewood when your lovely wife is there ]. So take a six pack and a diet coke for hunter and go be neighborly.

Mike if you can angle the table on the front of splitter I do think that would help substantially ! Looks really nice! Definitely keep a grease gun nearby. I know he said you can use used motor oil but I don’t think I would. It could be corrosive and wear out the chain quicker. On somethings yes but not that.
