hi first of all a very useful video. Thank you. I have an old hp pavilion dv6 1270st with burnt mainboard. I bought a new motherboard of the same model. I don't have the cable you plugged in at 30:37 of the video. Either I lost it after shredding it or it wasn't there but the first possibility is higher. So CN15 socket on the motherboard remained empty. What is getting caught there? I continued to defragment the computer, thinking that if that socket is empty, it might not prevent the computer from working. As a result, there was no display on the screen and the capslock led started to blink twice. When I search it was written that it is related to the BIOS. Could this be related to the missing part? Or may the BIOS battery be dead? Or might the BIOS not be installed at all?
Got scared too when reassembling. If you look closer it's printed "bluetooth" on the motherboard. So it is the bt connector for that module I suppose. In my case it came without it so it all went fine. Btw thanks a lot for the video. Was really helpful with those hundreds screws :D
@@ucantburpthis man I spent the day fixing this laptop too (fan cleanup) and when I noticed that cable i literally just unscrewed everything and went back to look for it only to find nothing .-.
@@amalia4344 lol me too. I was keeping this video as a reminder and got scared for a minute. At least all that work and now is running 30° cooler now. Even tough it was the cleanest old notebook I'll ever see I think :D
Hi, thank you for making such a amazing video *thumbs up* It has really helped a lot. I just have one question, what was the idle temp before and after the cleaning?
Hi great video :) my question is what size of thermal pad ( thickness) is used in this laptop ?? I need to replace it and have no idea what to buy. Thanks for help.
Hey i have already dissasembled my laptop, it went really smooth. I was just wondering if you were using any special cleaning tool or just and ordinary cloth.
I wanna find a cheap fun for the same laptop from ebay/ali express but im not sure what model would fir me. Could yo u send me a link for a dv6-2140ed fun?

There are many possible reasons, it can be a battery, power cable connection to the laptop, power cable connection to the DC power, motherboard outages

I thought now. Can it be a thermal sensor because it is directly above the fan?

Did you use any cleaning solution to clean off the thermal paste for the CPU or just damp the cloth with water?
