Great video. I have the same setup, but no matter what I do, the laptop does not recognize the HDD in the DVD slot. I don't see it in DiskManager. I completely reformated the HDD. No problem seeing it when plugged in a external HDD bay.

+Yerbol Akhmetov hi, The possibility of installing a ssd through optibay depends on the sata interface typology. Unfortunately I don't remember the caddy one, however if it's a sata3 interface there won't be differences in putting the ssd in HDD

Ciao Sebastian, ho letto solo ora il commento. I supporti optical drive sono universalmente riconosciuti da quasi tutte le motherboard. Per rispondere alla tua domanda: si, può essere riconosciuto come supporto esterno, senza bisogno di driver, se lo colleghi tramite porte SATA. Se utilizzi un adattatore USB non so se ci sia bisogno di driver. Ciao!

+Aqua Tsurugi as you can see at 6:37, the interfaces between optical drive and the laptop are: .-SATA plug -Middle placed hole for screw -thickness of drive (12.7mm). If for the first two points you shouldn't worry about (because are identical for all optical drives), be careful for the last one, because there are two kind of drives with different thickness.

Ciao @yaproc, la massima quantità di RAM che puoi connettere alla scheda madre è riportata sul sito ark di Intel (chiaramente devi recuperare l'informazione relativa alla tua). Venendo alla tua domanda, nei limiti della capacità della scheda madre, puoi aggiungere quanta RAM vuoi anche due banchi con capacità differenti per i due slot (4GB+2GB ad esempio). Si consiglia di prendere due moduli compatibili tra loro in maniera da sfruttare la caratteristica di dual Channel. Single rank o dual rank inoltre non fa molta differenza nei portatili. Le single rank sono preferibili perché dissipano meno calore e consentono eventuali overclock, ma nei portatili non fa molta differenza. Non so se sono stato di aiuto, ti prego comunque di chiedere informazioni anche al venditore, in quanto io non sono né un tecnico ne un esperto di informatica👍

@@acquasalsa se il processore è i7 2630qm, la pagina ark dell'intel ne quantifica il massimo utilizzo di RAM in 16Gb (ricordati di scegliere il giusto protocollo DDR3 con massima freq a 1333 MHz). Non so dirti se la scheda madre però li sopporta (ma questo non lo sapevo neanche del mio HP ed è per questo che ho fatto la prova).

you can follow two way: 1) make a copy of your old hdd trougth software like Norton ghost (and an usb/sata adaptor:www.amazon.com/StarTech-SATA-Drive-Adapter-Cable/dp/B00HJZJI84/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1496006762&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=sata+usb+3.0) or 2) you can buy a new windows OS (DVD) and install a new one OS (insert dvd, choose optical drive as first drive to read in bios setting, and follow the instruction to complete your installation).

I searched information about motherboard (HM65) and chipset (i7-2670QM) and I found out they could read 16 Gb... So I bought the memory on amazon and I tried... Well it went out the computer could read it and now I have got 16 Gb... Try to find out informations about your MoBo and Chipset...

+ToMaZ l'alimentazione del lettore dvd sul portatile avviene per mezzo della porta sata, quindi desumo che un convertitore possa bastare . Viceversa non saprei da dove alimentare il lettore dvd.
have you tried windows 10 you know Pavilion dv6 has two GPU , i did changed to Windows 10 pro but i lost the AMD RADEON GPU , only using now intel 3000 GPU , since AMD here only works on windows 7 and last upgrade was in 2012 , really man AMD sucks .

MY interface is SATA-II though the SSDs are of SATA-III....hence they will clock at SATA-II only....

I searched information about motherboard (HM65) and chipset (i7-2670QM) and I found out they could read 16 Gb... So I bought the memory on amazon and I tried... Well it went out the computer could read it and now I have got 16 Gb... Try to find out informations about your MoBo and Chipset...

ciao... come faccio a sapere quanto deve essere grosso il caddy dvd in base al mio pc (HP Envy dv6 non so il codice di serie)?
+ToMaZ ciao, le due tipologie di caddy in commercio differiscono tra loro per lo spessore. penso che il tuo richieda un caddy da 12,5 mm tuttavia ti consiglio di seguire la procedura nel video per rimuovere il lettore dvd e misurarlo.

+ToMaZ l'alimentazione del lettore dvd sul portatile avviene per mezzo della porta sata, quindi desumo che un convertitore possa bastare . Viceversa non saprei da dove alimentare il lettore dvd.

have you tried windows 10 you know Pavilion dv6 has two GPU , i did changed to Windows 10 pro but i lost the AMD RADEON GPU , only using now intel 3000 GPU , since AMD here only works on windows 7 and last upgrade was in 2012 , really man AMD sucks .

How do u know what ddr u have ? ( ddr2 or ddr3 ?)
It is labelled on the slot usually, or maybe you can refer to the version already on your board for replacement.
