The 00s wasn’t when the “Kim Kardashian” look popped off (like she was still Paris Hilton’s friend and Brandi’s stylist back then especially early on). People were still quite focused on thinness then. The *2010s* is when her look really hit. The 2010s is its own decade/era that people seem to forget/skip over.
The big booty aestheic didn't pop off till about 2014. In the early 2000s we were still scared of having a big butt (specifically white women. Would love to see one of these for POC!)
As someone who has ridiculous body dysmorphia, I've no clue what my body looks like unless I'm staring at a mirror and even then it's like I'm borderline schizo cause I still can't see what I really look like. I feel like a monster 23 hours out of the day and it makes it hard to find someone to love, cause I'm very self conscious and constantly think I'm ugly and not good enough. These beauty standards add to the flame. When the BBL curvy figures was a thing, I lost 70 lbs. Now that skinny is back I'm closer than 200 to than ever before. I hate this food, diet and fashion culture we have. Im getting therapy but it's still hard. I'm turning 23 soon. I've had an eating disorder since I was 9 years old. Diagnosed. It's very difficult. Incredibly hard. Please, anyone with. Children, raise them with love.
@@kk65275 thank you my friend! I've been 2 months purge free! Losing weight healthily and pursuing therapy was the best thing I could've done for myself :D I still have my bad days absolutely but therapy is very important
And these were mainly European/Caucasian body standards. That said, the 30-50s and 80s seemed to be most accommodating. Let's love our bodies, be healthy and do our best with what we got.
Yes because in African culture slimness is frowned upon…but if you’re a lot more should I say rounder that’s also an issue for them. I think Hawaii or one culture big bellies are a thing, I could be wrong though 🤔
I remember there was a time in the 90’s-early 2000’s when the body type was all giant boobs and no ass and the song “I like big butts and I cannot lie” was like a revolutionary song
This reminds me of what another youtuber talked about with trends... The internet is speeding up the trend cycle. That might be why the 2000s feel like whiplashx3
I feel like in the 2000 wasn’t the kardashian era. Instead magazines and pop culture focused on being skinny and thin. Meanwhile in 2010, that’s when the slim thick Beaty standard became to rise as people started to mimic Kylie Jenner. Big lips, big butt, small waist. I feel like as we go into 2020, a fit natural (yet still hardly achievable) figure are becoming the new beauty trend as we focus more on “natural” beauty. Celebrities removing their BBL’s and “no makeup” makeup. Looking flawless “without makeup” with perfect skin.
Y talk about White body types. We akready know it for the most part. u could talk about poc bodies around the world or just a region. I was in the 80's and athletic and would love to see how poc stayed, all sizes . Teach that
Or just go into detail about black body types across the world since she’s a black woman? POC includes literally everyone but white peoples and that’s a lot to go over…

Thank you! And I can’t believe in this 2023 we are still falling prey to beauty standards set by God knows who 😰

Y r we majoring on white women? Is there a point to this?
And remember, you are only talking about Western society.
