Moi too; the vintage tutorial wasn't what I stayed for, it was the humour. The sisters handbag, tying the T shirt post hand-struggles vid, 1950s schoolgirl, shoes that stop blood, and the numerous references to merch.. Genius idea to merge merch/vintage/money-saving tips.

    Four things:
    1. I can send help for your tiny clothespin problem! I use them for my dolls as accessories and to adjusts their outfits as my sewing skills are pretty much non-existent (one reason I REALLY loved this video). If you can spare I will take whatever.
    2. I am also obsessed with bows. Glad I am not alone. ^_^
    3. I must buy that lavender dress! It is perfect and I desperately need more dresses/shirts with Peter pan collars because I adore them so thank you for providing the name/brand.
    4. I loved this video!!! I have way too many t-shirts but want to incorporate them into my regular fashion (which sometimes delves into the realm of vintage) and as I mentioned, my sewing skills leave much to be desired so I am so excited to try some of these tricks out.

Those are all great! I do a more casual vintage look typically (especially after someone complained that I was inappropriately dressed for work last year. I'm a preschool teacher and remain confused about how skirts are inappropriate. )
Anyway, v neck tshirts can do most of what you explained in this video as well. And any modern shirt with a tie at the neck. Tucking things in really does make things look more vintage.
The other big thing to consider is the amount of "ease". Ease is how loose or tightly fitted clothing is. Vintage 40s and 50s things were worn a lot more fitted than modern garments. I find that sizing down from an XL to an L gives whatever I'm wearing a more vintage look no matter the style of the garment.

I don't even intend to wear vintage style, but the thing with rounding the sleeves I will definitely do, to make all my old band shirts cuter and more fitting to my current style.
    Thank you

Hi Jessica loved the idea of making t-shirts into vintage knit looks. As I can't wear jumpers. Don't worry your not the only one who put skirts on over your head I do too. Marie

For people who are interested in adapting t shirts for the more masculine side of vintage clothing, I find that if you tuck it into some nice vintage trousers and wear some suspenders it looks quite nice

When Jessica was modeling the outfit wearing Claudia’s wedding shoes it occurred to me that shoe freak nirvana could be realizing that you and your wife, girlfriend or best friend have the same shoe size. Match made in heaven😊

Jessica this video was outstanding! This made vintage so much more approachable for me. And I am WITH you on the offensively large hat. I have a very very wide brim floppy straw hat. When I wear it I can't see anyone on the sides of me and the wind is always trying to take it off my head but it's still my favorite and I refuse to give it up 😂

The Utrecht regional Dutch people call it a 'hemd' (sounds like hemmed), often a type of underwear or a sleeveless shirt, occassionally referred to by youglings as a 'tanktop'

    • @Mandinobear
      @Mandinobear 4 роки тому +1

Hmm hemd is underwear for under your buttonup shirt (overhemd, verklaard de naam lol) and i would call that shirt a tanktop cause you wear it as a shirt on its own.

I recommend with t shirts that you want to tie up, that you cut a slit up the centre front depending on how cropped you want it/ or where your waist is and then its wayyy easier to tie than making a massive knot!

Fun fact; The earliest t-shirts date back to at least the 1898 American-Spanish war where they were issued to soldiers as undergarments. By 1913, it had become common for members of the US navy operating on submarines to remove their outer uniform jacket and wear only the t-shirt, later this caught on with workers in labouring in hot conditions and became very popular during the Great Depression.

I feel like this video has helped me get ideas on how I can wear T-shirt and not feel like a 13 year old girl that has no fashion sense. Especially being able to pair it with skirts. This makes me so excited!!
