For anyone curious why they don't allow adults to dress as the characters at Disney, it's because they want to keep the costumes to the actors to preserve the magic for the children. The aim is so that a young child sees Belle and thinks that she's actually Belle, so if they see two Belle's walking around, it gets confusing for them.
That makes sense but at what age is it not allowed anymore then? Is it 18+ not allowed or 13+ or?
@@Karin-fj3eu its 13+ because to young children even teenagers can look like adults and in addition to that some princesses are meant to be teens anyway just look at ariel shes supposed to be like 16 at most in the little mermaid
There's also the safety aspect of it. Don't want kids running off towards some random person who is dressed as their favorite character.
not a fan of this policy but I understand the reason for it
@@annaswanson5903 I am totally with you. I really am glad the policy is getting more awareness because how much would it suck to drive all the way to Disneyland for the day from out of state in a Minnie costume, only to be turned away at the gate and have no spare clothes.
I love how she reacts each time there's a bow. Someone, please, send this lady all the bows. She deserves them.
I appreciate the random illegal activity, but only because it let me see Jessica liked my comment 😭💜
Jessie complaining that clothing is "too straight..."
Sounds about right. 😂
ChickenMccZoe I just realized this!!! We need gay clothes
@@user-ly3pj1yz4l I'm not sure if clothing can have a sexual preference. 😂
@@ChickenMccZoe hmm my sister will beg to differ with you, there are a few things she can add to any outfit to make it look more queer
@@annaswanson5903 Maybe I need fashion tips from your sister then. 😂
ChickenMccZoe I did a video with her and that’s exactly what she did. I even wore these frilly vintage dresses and she turned it queer. If you’re interested plz check it out and let me know what you think .
Being told I'm a 'beautiful people' is the best part of my day :)
You are lovely people
Just shown this my nephew:
"Is she your friend Alice? shes very pretty. Shes a princess!" -my nephew Sebastian
Awwwww.
You're not obsessed with vintage beauty. It's a normal and healthy level of appreciation.
I sleep in vintage nightgowns (even tho I’m a guy, they feel and look great don’t come for me). It’s weird I keep finding awesome 40s-60s nightwear at the charity/thrift/second-hand shops in my area for so cheap but I’m not complaining, just got a lovely purple nylon nightgown and sorta matching bed jacket for like 8$.
Edit: my fave set is a 50s turquoise/blue cotton nightgown/slip with lace straps and smocking at the stomach/waist and a (sorta, same color and time period) matching button up bed jacket made of cotton & nylon with an empire waist, slightly puffed sleeves, and lovely pink and white embroidered lace above the empire waist. Sorry I just love talking clothes.
Your taste is IMPECCABLE.
It must be said.
Yeah I like the clothes videos too!
Holy moly! They have sizes that I can possibly wear! Color me surprised!! (I was going through the video and thinking: "Well, I bet they won't have sizes for me, but nice clothes though.") Also, I think you temporarily broke their website. I can't get on it yet...:)
I wasn't even going to check them out until I saw your comment! So glad they offer larger sizes
I love Jessica's voice, it is a pleasure to listen to her talk about any topic.
This whole video I thought, don't get too attached, they're all probably made in China in incredibly exploitative situations, but I kept not being able to click away because you are so charming, then to find out that not only are they made in fair conditions, but to have you actually give voice to that very issue that way too few people care about? Amazing. You've made my day.
She says it in the very beginning of the video?
I love that you address shipping as well. So much detail
I spent maybe two months feeling like something was missing then just yesterday I realized UA-cam stopped recommending your videos! Just my luck that you uploaded a new one today too!
That tuxedo dress is gorgeous my heart is making grabby hands for it. (I tried to be offended because I love those fake-shirt collar+jumpers but I couldn’t because you’re just too charming)
"My heart is making grabby hands for it" is my new favorite phrase
Omg your whole life is a beautiful vintage Disneybound!!! Love you jessica! Hi to claudia and the puppies! Happy pride to you both 💖🏳️🌈😘 PS Please collab with Karolina Zebrowska!!! She is an expert in vintage fashion and it would be so cool to have her style you or something!
I would love a Karolina cola, that would be so cool
They live in different countries lol I think you'd have to know someone properly to make that kind of trip
@@susannam3923 youtubers travel to collab all the time. And I obviously wasn't like telling her to, I was just making a suggestion
Heck yeah!
@@Natalie-101 I get that! And I love both of their channels but I just feel like a Collab is only really fun when you have at least a friendly relationship with the other person, and that might be kind of difficult there
Before my breast reduction I loved clothe that emphasized that area, I wasn't carrying those 4 pounds there for nothing.
They're small now, which is way more comfortable for my back (I have Ehlers-danlos and my back was already bad enough), but that cleavage will be missed.
EDS struggles! I have the same issue, too endowed, my poor back. I'm ordering a custom non-reduction corset to lift their weight, I'm really hoping that will help enough I can avoid surgery.
Hope you're between flares, fellow zebra!
@@annedavis3340 I don't have flares anymore, I'm just constantly in pain.
@@thaiseathaydesantos baseline pain is the worst. All my best!
@@thaiseathaydesantos Oh no I'm sorry to hear that you're in constant pain
Hello fellow EDSers, the condition that mangles your body in ways you didn’t think was possible. And then people say oh it’s just hypermobility, ha ha ha. I’m sorry about your cleavage (in a not weird way) EDS takes so much.
The reason why I started to follow you was a mix of (disability) research and interest in hoh/deaf folks. I stayed for the vintage clothing, and through that discovered my own love for it (more the 1960s though. Being short makes 1940s clothes impossible to wear!)
Thank you for still doing these kind of videos! They're very nice to look at, and just great as the perfect end to a long day!
Lots of love from Germany xx
Mindral Fairheart Jessica is why I started dressing vintage too it’s so much fun and the clothes flatter women’s figures so much don’t they?
Jeans ARE weird. Thanks for the rundown of this lovely brand. The tuxedo dress would work better if they had a fold over rather than flat stitching where the jacket meets the fake waistcoat. Love the level of tailoring on these garments.
Your 👗 is Gorgeous. Happy Pride Month Jessica.
Hey darlin' . I love that you look for ethical fashion! I am not sure if you have seen it, but if not, I think you would like *_The True Cost_* on Netflix - a great documentary on the true cost of fast fashion. Anyway, love all of these pieces. I just couldn't imagine you in anything but sublime vintage.
I feel so early! I love your dresses as always, Jess💜
As an LGBTQ+ disabled person as well, you are an icon. Happy Pride to you and Claudia! 🌈
Congrats on being early
@@annaswanson5903 Thanks
I seriously love that yellow on you such a good color
I've got a ridiculous exaggerated hourglass figure, so I absolutely love brands like this. They look awesome on me.
Jessica: all body shapes are fruit, aren't they?
me, to my boyfriend: AN HOURGLASS IS A FORM OF FRUIT?!?
brain fog is great
I wanna see your reaction to lolita fashion (it has nothing to do with Nabokov ). Its a niche Japanese fashion that has a lot of overlap with vintage fashion especially the classic lolita sub-style.
Seconded! As both a vintage and classic lolita wearer this would be an interesting video to see 😊
I was feeling a bit down today, this is just what I needed!
hope things got better for you, feeling down sucks
@@annaswanson5903 Yes mam, they did...thank you!
Christopher Metcalf good
I think the tuxedo dress is my fav, it is adorable and I would totally wear it.
I appreciate that you bring up that cost is a real factor in sustainable fashion and how attainable it is. I am lucky to be involved in communities that value clothing swaps (everyone brings the clothes they don’t want any more, gets thown into piles, everyone takes what they want, everything else gets donated. These events are usually free or a small donation to cover venue costs). Thrift store prices have been increasing and are usually out of my budget; there is no way I could afford to buy new sustainable clothing even though ethically I support them. Very frustrating when everything seems to be ‘vote with your wallet’ but doing so would put you on the street.
Hello, lovely person! I just wanted to say that I really appreciate you acknowledging the problematic nature of discussing those cheap FB brands (honestly, I am so tired of those “does it look like the advertisment???” videos and the like) and making an effort to talk about more sustainable brands, but still being inclusive about it. Honestly, I just love your videos a lot. Good luck with the move!
Omg yess, finally someone addresses the fact that most dresses have mini armholes.
You're my style icon. You inspired me to buy a bunch of vintage style dresses and I love them so much.
I've got a mystery chronic illness and dresses like these make me feel so good, even on bad days.
Tilly: ‘will be instagram prop as long as I can have cuddles on demand.’ Forceful cuddles.
I love browsing UA-cam and seeing a new vid before the notif even shows up
I've been really struggling with my mental health and I don't know if this is weird, but your videos always make me feel better. Your voice is so soothing
Jessica makes me feel good too. Shes got great energy that shines through her videos so thats not weird at all. I started watching her when I was struggling as well and she made me feel better too.
Your excitement for these dresses is so enamoring 😂
Inverted triangle shape = strawberry probably
Hearing you say that you’re usually a size 8 and then talk about how you have a 28E chest gives me legitimate relief because you’re the only person I’ve ever seen with basically the same body as me, especially in the context of talking about clothing. Not super large, not super small, but very large chested. It makes shopping for clothes nearly impossible. I’ve to this day never owned a bra that fit me properly because I can’t ever find anything with a small enough band size and a large enough cup size. I’m so happy that I can look at your clothing videos for brands and things that I can try, that will probably work for me since they worked for you. Thank you, honestly, so much.
Kylie Lode hi! I have the same underband as you. Try bravissimo. They start 28 and cup size d so you should be fine. I’m now 28h and couldn’t cope without bravissimo in my life.
That tuxedo dress is now my entire aesthetic
You have a good aesthetic!
I've been so anxious all day and this video has me smiling again. Thanks for the unwavering positivity of your videos!
As always, you bring joy to our hearts and have put a smile on my face. You’re sunshine and now have the dress to match. 💕
I've always had an urge to learn sign and Last week I finally bit the bullet and started. You're a huge inspiration and I dont know if I'd have started if not for your channel. So thankyou!
The moment she started talking about import taxes I was wondering if she was gonna have a “oh Brexit no” moment.
I literally finished binge-watching your other vintage videos the other day and now you bless me with another one. 🖤
Your videos always cheer me up! Which is just what I needed since I got a massive headache at work this morning.
hope your headache goes away soon
Holy shit you're also large-chested?!? I've NEVER found a UA-camr who's larger-chested like me! This means I might actually be able to wear the clothes I love on you! And thank you for the representation, I never see anyone in media with a chest like mine, and it means a lot to see it normalised.
Seeing your uploads makes me absolutely happy. Much love and good vibes!
same
Pleeeease do more videos like thise one ❤ i just started to wear vintage clothing after years of not being brave enough for it and I have yet to find a UA-camr who does as good and honest of a job reviewing dresses like you do!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 love you
Jessica serves vintage realness and im living for it!
Love, love, love these videos. It is so helpful to me to know the positive and negative to the vintage repro brands. You always do such a great job. Thank you.
I’m really glad you addressed shipping, many UA-camrs don’t which is frustrating when you go online and not only see that the items are expensive but that the shipping is also expensive.
I absolutely love this type of fashion.
As just a side note, I'm an 18 year old guy so I would never know how much I like these clothes if not for your channel so thanks Jessica!
Massive skirts are normal and jeans are weird - YES!!! Adore you to bits, and continue to enforce this message myself xD
The 2 pale blue dresses remind me of Alice in Wonderland, if I were ever to wear a dress again (I'm VERY butch) it would be Alice in Wonderland Disney Bounding...
Also i mostly wear mens clothes from cheap high street stores, like Primark, and i'm still wearing items I bought over 10 years ago, so not all 'cheap unethical' clothing is crap.
You've got a stunning collection. They suit you beautifully too!
I’d forgotten about this collection and your review! Also I love your hair in this video -your hair is always lovely but I just love the curl by your face
Tbh a tuxedo dress would be exactly what I need for my graduation, so if you're willing to ship to the Netherlands 😂
How do you pick a good petticoat/undergarments for vintage clothing?
there is a review for this on her channel
Love fashion reviews and I’m so glad you’re focusing on ethical brands! Great idea about not doing the cheap brands, although I’d love if you could showcase some ethical/good quality brands that are at the cheaper end if possible 💓🎀
I've missed seeing your vintage clothing and hairstyle videos on a more frequent basis! I so enjoyed this one.
*_HAPPY PRIDE MONTH JESSICA_*
Loved the video-
Dear Jessica,
Thank you for that review and for the presentation of the brand.
These are great! Hope your move goes as smoothly as possible!
I'm so happy you're talking about ethical fashion! :)
I used to wear tons of dresses in this style back at university when I was a different size, and now I'm so keen to get more back in my wardrobe again since my younger sister has nabbed my old ones and tailored them smaller.
Oh my gosh that tuxedo dress is absolutely gorgeous 🤩🤩
I own one of Miss Candyfloss's Snow White dresses. I would die for the Belle or Cinderella ones featured in this vid! Just gorgeous.
I didn't realize how much I missed your vintage videos ♥️
Disney is my fave thing and 50s is my fav era and I love you so this video was made for moi
I could listen to you talk about dresses all day. Also thank you for this video, we are going to Disney world in 2021 and want to “dress” like the princesses.
28 E, yes, yes you can!
32 G, me too! Never been an Xs though... just no, never.
You’re brilliant! Thank you 🙏🏽
I once filled my winter boots with glitter and put them away... Winter came round again and I put my boots on to go to Taekwondo, a barefoot sport 😂🤣😂
Love all the dresses. Love the way you style your hair and accessorize with them.
I’m with you on the halter necks. I’ve got scoliosis too.
I absolutely love your style. It's classic and so well done. I like the feel of synthetic fibers, like polyester, but when washed they contribute to micro plastics in the ocean. However, a way to fix this is using a guppy friend bag which is basically a very tight sized mesh bag that catches the fibers. That way we can have comfort and do our best to be environmentally friendly :)
I didn’t get a notification for this and I’m SO MAD because Disney and vintage fashion are my favourite things!!!
love how much you love bows :)
You are so pretty, Jessica! ✨ Always an inspiration for me 🌞
Happy Pride Month Everybody 🎉
If you take your 'baggy Steve's along to a tailor or seamstress, they will be able to alter them for you. The sleeves you mentioned are easy to alter.
Butterick makes retro patterns, as well as modern ones. This might be of interest to some of the Lovely People.
Wow, you have so many beautiful pieces that I thought I could pick my favorite to comment on, but they all work for different reasons! The only thing I can comment on is the colors, you look LOVELY in yellows, red wine colors, and occasionally (and depending on the cut of the dress, blues :) ) MARVELOUS video! You're beautiful no matter what, and I'm still jealous in a good way!
Love love love this video! It's so cute when you do the little dance
Amazing as always !!!
That blue jacket would look amazing in a different colour with the red skirt!
Love your vintage videos (ok I love all your videos), all of this is so beautiful. I wanted to try a 50s dress but everywhere I've looked either the bust would be way too big or the waist would be way too small so I'm living my dream through you
I would definitely appreciate a tuxedo dress in an XS for all my fancy occasions
I love all the dresses 😍!! I also love the tuxedo dress, the one you have would be my size too!! I typically wear tomboy style clothing everyday, but love wear vintage style dresses whenever I can!! Love the review of this brand, very helpful.
What a beautiful in depth video!
♡
Thanks for the recommendations for vintage inspired brands. I'll have to check out Miss Candyfloss. I completely agree that supporting ethical brands is great. Kudos to you! I did notice you may have forgotten to ad the. Cards at the top in a couple places, but with the move immanent, it could happen to anyone. Good luck with the move!
Ooh loving a late night upload 😀
I love your videos so much because they're so detailed and it's so evident that you put a huge amount of effort into them and they're beautiful (as are these dresses! Also do you have any tips on washing/handling more delicate fabrics and dresses?)
Wow, this was so thorough! I really, really loved this video.
MCF is seriously one of my faves. Everything I've gotten from them (I think I'm up to about 10ish? pieces now) are amazing quality. They're definitely in my top 3 vintage inspired brands (the others are collectif and vixen at the moment)
“I’ve just realised that brexit is a thing!” 🤣
Thanks for the very useful video. I am back to my vintage passions and I haven't a brigth idea of the UK landscape, clearly I am not British. Plus I feel you: my very vintage collection is slim (at the moment) and definetly some other vintage inspired brand are so bad (plastic dresses) and I need some dresses to wear in my dayly life so thanks.
.... begins binge watching all your dress/clothing reviews... ❤️
I saw that you uploaded and I had to click immediately!💞❤️💗💞💓🤩💞
I can see you make wise decisions in your life :)
The tuxedo dress is so pretty 😍
I think the tuxedo dress is stunning
I loved this as I do all your lookbook and review videos, you always look so elegant I’ve often dreamt of owning some of this brand but they are not in my budget right now maybe one day xx
Miss Candyfloss is my favorite brand for retro clothing. The fit is always Great, and the quality is amazing. I don’t have a lot yet , i even got a playsuit for when i don’t want to wear a dress.
Jessica, I would love the tuxedo dress! It is so cute!
Jessica you are history bounding every day!
What a great idea! thanks for this fun video. xoxoxo
That tuxedo dress looks amazing on you!
