Bang for the buck they have a great exhaust performance and sound but only with muffler IMO. Straight pipe is way too loud. Only downside so far it rusted after one winter. Yes! Mod #1 is the PCM tune so that should already have you covered!
@@ZZPerformanceChannel awesome cuz idk anything about tunes so yeah imma order all 5 now when I install all the parts would be best if I did regular tune like oil change and spark plug etc so the new part dont damage the use parts?
I have a Chevy Cruze are you saying that I should be putting premium gas in it? I've been filling her up with 87
With the 1.4L turbo engine, YES you should be.
Do you do a straight switch or how does one go about transition from 87 to premium
Love the comment about other 4 cyl mods sounding "a little ricey", lol!
No mods for the 2nd gen Cruze 😩
0:20 You are 100% right here in Canada on a hot day on regular 87 octane this car knocks like crazy, replacing the intercooler with a fmc did improve somewhat but even on 91 octane there is partial knock and misfires on low rpms, in fact on my datalog y saw missfires on 94 octane at part an full throttle even when the car was new.
No idea if its the pcv system at fault, a bad turbo or bad coils( changed the coil pack + new spark plugs ) changed nothing.
The problem it’s a POS Chevy haha
@@aznboi344 that pos chevy is costing me only 4,6L/100 km does not cost me nothing per moth and except the pcv and the knock issue it has never let me stranded.
Unlike a pos BMW OR VW where you need to have a tab open at the garage.
I’ll never own a vw or bmw. I own a Toyota and Honda/Acura. My 1998 Accord has 247,000 miles and still gets 31mpg.
@@aznboi344
Just make sure your Toyota's accelerator doesnt get stuck...
Why would it get stuck? It’s a 2007 Tundra with a 5.7 V8. That’s hilarious that all you have against Toyota is a short stint of faulty gas pedal problems. At least Toyota and Honda didn’t take a huge ass “bail out” like Chevy. It’s their own fault they built too many shitty cars no one wanted to buy and almost went out of business.
How much labor to install valve springs?
Korey Mayo a lot
Do you guys have any plans for a Gen 2 Cruze intercooler kit?
What about chevy trax??
It's funny rewatching this and seeing the Sonic with mirrors. 🤣
ZZP is nice.. just wish there was more available for 2nd gen cruzes…
the 1.8l with 5 speed manual has the least issues.
I like the mod where she's willing to "Get Out of My Dreams!... And Get in to My Car!" 😅
Wht can I do with my non turbo sonic
I have a 1.8 can you help me with that
The 1.8 is shit lmfao
Fr get a turbo bro
I have a 1.8 as well. Thinking about adding some mods. Is a turbo an option with this displacement?
@@aconstip8edcow I dont really think you can turbocharge the 1.8l due to the engine bay not having enough space. Maybe if you heavily modified it and made an area for the turbo but that would cost you thousands and would probably just be better off buying a RS turbo
Love your stuff, brakes/tune are on the list. I'm in California, so that's probably it 😅
just keep the stock parts for smog ;) I'm in cali and I just bought the stage 2 kit lmao
Hi Ashley. Words are great, but this is a video platform. Show us these mods in action vs a stock 1.4t used as a control (you know, science). Also, this 1.4t vs VW's 1.4t.....
This is a helpful video, the proof is in my track times which if you follow ZZP have been posted before. 13.65 in the 1/4.
@@chiashley26 boom
Best upgrade, better car lol. Jk my wife has one, I dig it. Trying to convince her it could be better... WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY lol.
Can you do these Mods on the LT Cruze version as well as the RS that you mentioned?
RS is an appearance package.
@ZZPerformance can you guys do a video like this on the 1.8l? I’d appreciate it alot
Brandon Orozco thanks for the list. Very useful info. Know I know what to do with my Cruze LT RS.
Hey so I know I’m tardy to the party. I know nothing about mods. My question, of these top five mods, in what order would I install them if I didn’t have the cash to do them all at once? Idk if it matters but I have a 16 Cruze Limited with a manual gearbox.
I would start with cold air intake then move to exhaust set up. I'm in the same boat so far. My build will be put up on my channel.
Whats all 5 cost to get done im interested
All pricing and extra info is right on our site! Links are below in the description of this video.
Tell me more!! I got an SRIV JH white, with 18“ rims. Paid 10.5k AUD
Hey ZZP if I were you I would check to see if your own turboback exhaust system was in stock before you tried to promote it.
Nathan Keeley doesn’t sound that great for the money..
I just want a ls 7 in mine you know
Hey Ashley . I really like the sonic, but my buddy bought a 500 Abarth and it's a real fun car . Can the sonic compete ?
Fiat is such garbage! The Cruze is much better!
Yes, a properly modified sonic will be able to handle a stock 500 abarth. Plenty of sonics running low 15 quarter miles, and a stock abarth will only run a 17.
@@trainermono4362 👍👍Thanks, did not know that !
Wish I could trade my Cruze for a 2015 Buick verano 2.0 turbo with 260 horsepower!
@@leesantos9711 No prob. If youre interested in modifying yours I highly reccomend getting your info from the sonic owners forum. Theres a ton of great threads and smart people over there.
ZZZ is right I almost fell asleep
I got the same engine in my buick encore
Are these fairly easy to install for a beginner?
No.
The cold air intake can be done DIY, but I'd leave the rest to the pros.
Turbo cars, especially when high compression is present, requires 93. Factory, will work with 87, but especially in summer there will be predestination.
Don't you mean pre-ignition.
Steenveld yes, thanks
Are all of these upgrades easy to install yourself? ☺️
can it be a 2012 model?
Bang for the buck they have a great exhaust performance and sound but only with muffler IMO. Straight pipe is way too loud. Only downside so far it rusted after one winter. But for price it is easily one of the biggest performances gains but only with a tune. I tested 0-60 independent Cai, exhaust and together with stock tune and the computer compensated and minimal performance gains. Did same test with a tune and exhaust was biggest gain 0-60 besides tune itself.
What about newer Sonics, like 17-20
Same 1.4L turbo engine
Good vid.
Thanks!!!
Seriously thank you
I just installed the 1.4 cruze catback $550 and $200 mechanic install and sound it's no difference as the stock one, lost my money.
im not pumpig 93 in my cruze tf
Good short video I’d like a little more in depth I’ll definitely be doing valve springs and intercooler next
