I dont understand why zzp focuses on front wheel drives primarily? I have a 1997 camaro 5 speed and have been looking for inexpensive mods to help it pull a little but more when I have fun, but wanting it to be super reliable like the stock 3800 is, I did blow and engine due to the previous owner failing to assemble to the engine but I got another engine and it already has the SLP 1.8 ratio rockers and would like to take control of timing and fuel more but wanting to put a car back on it to help with the fuel economy or without one if I had or knew a way to help it run a bit better
Do you have options available for a 1996 Buick park avenue? I want to turbo it but maybe just cold air intake for now. Someone stole my converter so I’m running catless was think to straight pipe it since I fixed to missing cat issue. Maybe some sort of plug in tuner ?
I've got one in a 97 Camaro 5 speed. Mods so far are LT1 radiator swap, 3inch aluminum driveshaft swap from SS LS1 car(dropped around 10 pounds from the 2 piece steel unit), factory z28 dual exhaust with flowmaster 80 series welded in, K&N cone filter, z28 rear sway bar. Also have mid length headers/y pipe, high flow 3 inch cat and stainless GMMG Madhammer cat back for v8 cars waiting to be put on. Definitely do the driveshaft swap, and do anything else to keep engine/coolant/underhood temps down. Other stuff is more replacing lower intake gasket w/ zzp aluminum one, get a metal front cover gasket, relocate coil packs to the firewall, etc.
If you've got an F-body 3800 (Camaro or Firebird), especially an older one with the worse air box, check out the Spectre SPE-8161 air filter. Buy just the filter, remove the entire stock air box, and mount the filter right onto the intake manifold. @@4g63tpowered They are basically a replacement for the stock intake runners that are inside the upper intake plenum. You get higher power from this because it drastically changes the air velocity and how it enters your engine, the stock runners are about 4 to 5 inches tall, the HV3 insert reduces that by about 3 inches. The taller the runners you get more low end power/torque like the stock runners. the HV3 is much shorter and has a smoother airflow so it pulls the top end of the power band up. They are out of stock from ZZP but there is a brand called khaos motorsports that sells what the call an HV4 insert. I have the HV4 by them paired with the GT2 rpm cam from zzp.
Didn't know rockers alone could make my 200k+ mile 3.8 a little more happy, shes got fantastic oil pressure of 45 at idle and just over 60 everywhere else, ide love to do more but the oil changes have been leaving a bit of copper tone shine particles in the catch pan 😢
The rockers have a higher ratio, and lift the valves further open. It's basically like putting a higher lift cam in. Achieves the same result 2 different ways

I have a 2004 grand prix with the 3800 v6, I love cars but I'm ignorant when it comes to mechanics, recently I came into a C6 Corvette exhaust is there any way I could swap it for my stock exhausts on my GP? Anything helps
Lol, no
Hello, do you have a guide on how a tune would work? I am a novice and really wanted to rejuvenate my 2008 pontiac grand prix - its the v6 model. Does the tune in this video work on my model? Anything I need to install?
We do provide tuning support for the 2008 V6. Here is a link to our tuning page, If you have any questions email us at customerservice@zperformance.com.

Will these upgrades work for Buick and Chevy 3800s? Such as impala, Monte Carlo, regal, and etc?
Their web site parts description looks to show what cars they will work on.
yes they should because they are all made by gm, the only difference (which will say on the website) it probably the exhaust and that typpa stuff, but everything should work you would think.
It's the same engine in them all
Will these pcm update reduce how hard these 4t65e trans shift into 2nd?
Are you able to do the dod delete on the 05 grandprix GXP with the 5.3 im installing new cam and lifters doing away with the dod valve train
Yeah but like, what about the transmission. Is the 4t60e gonna handle all that?
Yes
Probably. Them I believe them are supposed to be good durable transmissions too
Which, if any of these, are compatible with a series 3 L26 3800?
I got a 98 regal LS does all this apply JUS HIT 86 thousand miles
can a super charger be added to a 2008 buick lucerne?
Anything I can do on a Series I 3800? I believe the transmission does not have electrically controlled shift so not sure any options for that.
The problem with the K&N oil soaked filter is that it’ll plug the MAF sensor.
Will these products work for the pre-series 1 or any recommendations for a 1989 buick 3800 fwd
get rid of the motorola ICM and go with the later Delco set up. reattaowner.com/roj/common-problems-a-solutions/replacing-magnavox-ignition-with-delco. Also you can install GEN III bosch injectors. larger exhuast piping , cold air kit. you can put a L67 supercharger or turbo charger but with the high compression of LN3 engine doesn't hold up.
So I have a 2002 LeSabre and the engines in these do not come with the dog bone motor mounts on top. Am I able to fit some mounts like that or can I run any of these mods without it?
If you send your question to customerservice@zzperformance.com we would love to help you out.
I ask zzp about my 08 grandprix they told I couldnt add supercharger kit because drive by wire throttle body is this true I can't do nothing to it bee side air box for it
You can add a supercharger to your car, we just do not sell one for the Series III engine. We do offer a few other parts that will fit your series III, exhaust and internals mostly!
Anyone have before and after 1/4 mile or 1/8th mile times for the 1.0 pcm programming?
I have a 3.8 v6 3800 series 3 L26 not supercharged and I want to put a supercharger on it. What would I have e to do.
This is the first I've seen of this - I know some people are turboing them and dragging them, but I've never been able to find performance engine upgrades. Can anyone put up a few links to sites that carry drivetrain upgrad parts?
Do they make a air induction that will fit a 96 firebird with 3.8.Also is a turbo kit available?
Have you found anything out? Just picked up a 2000 firebird!
Question ZZP ever thinking making a supercharger kit for the GM 3.9L that came in the Pontiac G6 idk what other car but that would be cool to do 3.9 makes like 260hp
Believe the 06-14 impalas had this motor too
really interested in those hv3 inserts.. last time i had checked i think they were out of stock and real pricey but i wonder how well it would pair with a turbo 3800
Can you educate me on what the fuck they are exactly? I'm new to the 3800 club but a veteran in car modding. They look like intake manifold spacers. I got the intake and just did the coil wires and plugs from zzp looking at the PCM and down pipe next but wondering wtf this is exactly
@@HypebeastMajorities thanks Buddy!!
Is there anything I can do for my 3.6 v6 lacrosse
Didn't know rockers alone could make my 200k+ mile 3.8 a little more happy, shes got fantastic oil pressure of 45 at idle and just over 60 everywhere else, ide love to do more but the oil changes have been leaving a bit of copper tone shine particles in the catch pan 😢
Hey did you feel an obvious change in power with the rockers? I'm not sure what to do just yet.
@@henrywashington4212 lol i didnt install anything on my car, just gathered the info from the video
The rockers have a higher ratio, and lift the valves further open. It's basically like putting a higher lift cam in. Achieves the same result 2 different ways
The na 3800 is the l36 correct? I'm still learning and wanted to boost my 03 ss monte NA
Wonder if these will work well on the Series III V6, got a 2006 Base GP was looking to do some modding to it
That's what I've been looking into as well
Can I do theses mods on my Monte Carlo ss 2001 pace car ?
Ok but what would you do to let's say a 98 firebird with the same motor
y’all should restock the super chargers soon haha
i have a 97 pontiac grand prix se. does anyone know if i can slap a turbo like this on it or a supercharger? i cant do the gtp or gt engine swap cause i guess they have different mounts compared to the se
One won't just be "slapping" a turbo on it. It would be a HUGE project, and require a TON of fabrication done by you.
My question is this, I have a Kia Sedona, it's got a 3800 in it. Could I fit a sc kit on that is a fun question?
How in the world did a 3800 find it's way into there?? 🤔
I have an 07 buick lucerne with the NA 3800 series 3 and ZZP will not help me figure out if their performance parts will fit.
Hey Dylan, sorry if you've been having any issues. Some of our parts will work on an 07 Lucerne. Contact our team at customerservice@zzperformance.com and they can tell you what will work.
I’d like these for my RWD Holden Ute.
Are any of these turbo kits, or superchargers work for 1997 Camaro 3.800 serie II N/A engine ? Thanks !
Hey man I have the same question you do, mines a 1997 camaro rs automatic with AC, did you ever find out if it’s compatible?
@@isaakcruz8003 nowbody said nothing ! Not everybody answers back LOL. But there is a kit on ebay 650$, they say it makes 750 hp, and i found on UA-cam a guy that put on Pontiac 3.8 serie II the same engine, and made about 330 HP, with that kit !
Novac Darco Louis awesome, thanks man!
Novac Darco Louis awesome, thanks man!
What about the u bend delete ?
The u-bend in the stock downpipe is said to be one of the most restrictive areas on a 3800. A u-bend delete (or even a whole downpipe) will eliminate the restriction at that part of the exhaust, allowing it to run more freely and smoothly.
where the heck is the link to find the HV3...
Kinda vague about what it is :/
But I've already made a wish list on what I'm wanting for my '05 Series 3 3.8 grand prix :)
No link currently, it's in the re-design phase currently. Hopefully we can have it back on the site before the end of the year.
@@ZZPerformanceChannel
Do y’all have more information about about the equalizer down tube for the N/A 3800
I’ve been wondering how the redirected heat from the exhaust might affect the upper engine components by the intake tube and manifold
:)
What hen is my 02 regal SC?
Question , i have modified a 944 porsche with a 3800 supercharged from a 2000 bonneville and 5 speed manual trans the flywheel is from a camaro or firebird now i understand the balance is wrong for a supercharged is it true .THANKS
Sounds sweet! We'd need a liiiitttle more info though to help you out. Try emailing our tech's at "customerservice@zzperformance.com" with a description of your build and the issues you're having!
Does ZZP still make the HV3? I can’t seem to find it using the link.
We do not currently sell the HV3 as it is going through a redesign. We don't yet have an ETA on when it will be available.
@zzperformance Would the intake kit work for a series 3 in an 2006 LaCrosse?
How much boost can a stock 3800 hold?
Probably don't care after 2 years but 10psi is safe. Anything after that and you're getting dodgy
@@knownbarkert6153 actually thank you I've been running 5psi on stock
you ever have someone hook this up to an f40 transmission and put it in a fiero?
Could you run the 1.65 zzp rockers with a cam even if it’s the same ratio
We would only recommend our 1.65 rockers with our VS or GT1 cam. Make sure to measure your push rod length.
Which is more fuel efficient, supercharger or turbo? Like which one makes more hp with better fuel efficiency
Turbo for sure! Roots style blowers are parasitic by nature meaning they require HP to be driven.
Where can I find the HV3 insert?? Ive been looking on the ZZP website and can’t seem to find it:(
It’s getting revised it should be out this year I’ve been waiting 3 years
Does this all fit a 2000s Firebird ?
You should start making stuff for the L27, I cannot find anything for it online
L27?
Could this work with Buick lesabre
How much for the steadama turbo kit
do these mods also go for the 2000 impala ls 3.8??
yup, any 3.8l gm engine should be compatible unless otherwise mentioned
How hard would it be?to swap my series 3 NA engine for a series 3 Supercharged engine?or am i better off putting together a custom turbo kit?
Can you do all of these mods with a rwd 3800 camaro?! I have a 2002 camaro I’d like to mod
i have a 1990 buick reatta with the 3800 what can i do to make it have more horsepower?
Drive it off a cliff?? 🤷🏻
i love the sport package
