Something I think people don’t really get is that a average faithful suit is as good as a wild and experimental suit. It just depends where you use it. In these films about the story of Peter Parker with the same heart as the original comics, the main suit can have liberties taken by should be over all the same composition and idea. Alternate spidermen or alternate takes on Peter should be the ones that get the experimental suit treatment. They have their own identity, they should be able to have a suit that messes with design and colors. Most of the time when people get massively upset about a suit, it’s when the opposite happens. Average everyday Peter gets a suit that’s way too esoteric and out of left field for him, or an alternate spiderman lacks unique identity. I love the early suit designs for TASM but I would never want them on an official film staring Peter and the traditional story.
I mean when I saw that suit for TASM 2 I never hated it at all but I prefer the first suit and wished it shown up for no way home because I felt it set Andrew apart from the Tom holland and Toby maguire suits.
I honestly loved the TASM 1 suit. It fit the story of a young angsty kid mad at the world who made his suit and identity for revenge rather than to be a hero. Remember he doesn't truly become spiderman until the bridge scene and the scene where captain Stacy calls spiderman out for profiling the criminals he was stopping. Peter WAS looking for his uncles killer until these 2 scenes when he fully realized Ben was right and Peter had a duty to help because he was the only one with the power to do so. Then following all of that he created the iconic suit in TASM 2 because he had fully stepped into his role as NY's hero. I think he should have been back in the TASM 1 suit, or a variation of it, for No Way Home to represent how he fell back into a dark place and wanted revenge for gwen and was just angry. Also would have helped track who is who in the final fight
for some reason some of these make me want so see a spider-man horror movie, like the evil superman trope but instead it's spiderman, if he decided to kill and couldn't get enough. No venom, just a peter parker that's drunk with his newfound power.
Honestly I like tasm1 suit, it looks different and compliments Andrew’s slim physique and the spider logo looks better than tasm2 logo, I also like the boots shape more (tho, not the pattern they have) Hell, I don’t even hate the lenses tbh, just the web pattern and the way the shoulder and hands are connected on the arm and the unnecessary complexities it has at times
Hands down one of my favourite suits. It has a grounded design and looks like what Peter would realistically whip up from the materials he could find The only thing that I don't like as much is the webbing, especially on the mask. Makes his head look like a basketball lol
That first one would look amazing with a web-cape. I can imagine him at night, perched on a rooftop corner or a grotesque, one hand curled up into a fist while the cape is pulled by the wind behind him.
This is an interesting and cool look into the TASM suit concept art and whatever the hell was going on with those designs. It'd be pretty cool if you made a similar video for Raimi suit and MCU suit concept art, or villain concept art from the movies cos those can be really wild.
I think the TASM 1 suit was okay, it at least made sense since it was a origin story and he hasn’t fully become Spider-Man yet. So it’s like a early prototype to what Spider-Man suit’s final design. The only odd thing I didn’t understand was the orange / golden eye lenses.
I liked the design for the first film, unlike other Peters this one never caught his uncles killer so understandably he had a vendetta against all dudes that looked like the killer and wanted to look menacing. Then during the bridge when he saved the kid on the bridge he had to take off his mask cause it was menacing. After saving Dr. Connors and new york he probably saved up more money and made the suit we know and love in the sequel.
1:45 does anyone remember the 67 series Spider-Man episode where he was slipping in paint? It’s the same episode where he meets doppelgänger. That’s what this suit reminds me of😂
The suit you cover first in this video would make for a very cool AU spidey in a multiverse story, maybe a more antihero one with its vaguely menacing look
7:04 it's funny that you mention that , because his suit is in the 2nd game of amazing Spider-Man and you get it free after going to spy on king-pin's nightclub
One of the reasons i love concept art is the point is to be outlandish most of the time, so your able to pick out things that work and things that dont.
Honestly, I don't really hate the tasm suit anymore. If it weren't for the thin red lines on the arms and legs and the blur fingers, I might actually love it.
The uhhh first concept looks sorta like the House of M Spider Man suit where the red was more pronounced and had strands of the logo running down the lower half.
The one costume in the comics that didn’t make sense to me was one of the costumes where he was wearing during his identity crisis, which was the hornet
I really love the designs where the artist thinks outside the box like putting an extra spider logo on the knee or putting in more spider elements like a web cape (since some spiders actually can use their web lines to float along an air current). It isnt about "accuracy" but simply making it feel like "A" Spider-Man in a different continuity. They look a lot more interesting than just taking the classic suit and adding textures, pannels and stripes to look more generic. He's SPIDER-Man, not Red and Blue Man.
I don't remember exactly where or from who I heard this. But the TASM1 Suit it's perfect for that movie because it's the suit made by an agressive griving Peter looking for the killer of his uncle for revenge. He didn't become spiderman to be a hero, he just wanted revenge for the dead of his uncle, he was angry and the suit reflected that anger. It wasn't until later on the film when he saved the kid from the bridge scene that he realizes what that suit could be and by the end of the film he is no longer searching for revenge. That's why TASM1 Suit works for that movie, because by the second film Peter already got over that revenge path and lean more into the classic hero path, and that is represented with peter having now a more classic accurate suit.
The amazing spider man 1 suit is my FAVORITE super hero suit of all time. Ever since I first seen it. The blue fingertips, the gold glasses, it was perfect
I remember seeing these on my DVD for TASM, and made me more thankful with the suit we got. Some of them looked too alien. Mainly the first one, and others just looked too similar from the Raimi suit or so far away from what Spider-Man looks like. One of them looked like Deadpool with webs. However, it's not to say I don't respect artists for making their own take on the character since Spider-Man is no stranger to having new looks, and I'm all ford with new designs for the characters. As is, I love the suit we got since it was leaked online. I thought the yellow lenses were unique, and the texture and patterns looked sleek, grounded yet futuristic. And the colors somehow looked more vibrant and colorful than TASM2, a suit most fans adore. I kinda wished they made a hybrid of this and the next together for TASM2, and then the TASM2 suit would be his final suit in NWH, like a nice transition to his more iconic look.
it’s fucking insane at 1:25 how that suit actually looked good once stripped of its color their actually might be something to that design and it’s horrible color blocking is whats making it look bad
No matter how much worse it could've been, the suit we actually got was still awful, it's like they tried to adapt a suit drawn by a little kid who thought random shapes made it cooler
A little disagree. I like TASM 2 better than TASM 1, but both are not perfect. I don't like that in both suits the spider design is very similar to Tobey's but with longer legs. Also, I find it very lazy that both suits have the same spider design on the back of the suit as the front without any significant changes as with Tobey's suit.
I didn't fully appreciate the TASM suit until using it in the Insomniac game. I kinda wish they reused it for NWH to make Andrew's Spidey more distinctive from Tobey's.
@@ILikeSoda229 They could've handwaved it away by having him mention he's wearing an older suit because it's more intimidating, matching his more brutal treatment of criminals.
@@Dalton_Boardman2000 I suppose so, but it would have to be an upgraded version of the Tasm1 suit, since Peter made the 2nd costume to be better than the first.
@@dericjames2018 Yeah that’s what I was saying the TASM 2 suit is supposed to be better than the first so it would be weird if Andrew’s Peter wore that suit in No Way Home. That would be like if Tom’s Peter wore his Homecoming suit in No Way Home.
I honestly would've preferred it if the TASM 1 suit leant fully into the Ditko style red-and-black colour scheme. The blue's pretty much the ruining factor for me, it doesn't really sell the menacing and weird vibe the rest of the suit is going for: plus the fan recolours I've seen seem to tie the suit's design together more clearly for me. The blue just seems like an obligatory inclusion, in a weird way.
TASM suit is my 2nd favorite. I understand why Spider-Man fans were shocked at first but idk man, it’s just so much more genuine and believeable, I dig it 🤙🏽
some of these designs remind me of this one creepypasta i read quite a while ago from what i remember it goes smth like this: the main character finds this weird spidey action figure at a nerdy store/comic shop/whatever, its all red with weird protruding messy black webbing and a realistic 3d spider in place of a logo when he buys it out of curiosity, he finds out it came with a tie-in comic he reads the comic, and its basically like the normal spidey origin up until when he gets bitten when peter parker gets bitten by the spider, red shit forms all around his body along with spider webs, and the spider rests on his chest after this he goes around killing everyone, yk standard creepypasta stuff, i think the guy who bought the figure was haunted by spooky evil spider-man or whatever i just found it interesting that some of these designs were basically what i pictured while reading that story, especially the ones with the venom-like eyes
Steve Ditko whether intentional or not drew spiderman to be creepy cause he was an artist who did creepy designs so I think the movies suit actually evoked that well
I actually dug their attempt to explain the "first suit" construction. They showed peter looking for ski / sports spandex suits and ordering one he liked in red and blue. That makes sense in context of the odd red and blue placement. The flow looks like a sports suit. He just added the spiders, webs, mask and used sunglasses for the eye lenses because that makes sense. And he made the boots using sports shoes and even used watches as the basis of his webshooters. All of it makes contextual sense and I didn't mind it.
HELL TO THE YES I LOVED THIS MOVIE. ahem i loved this suit and darker version cuz it goes with the story line and where he lives and what environment he grew up in and i love the yellow tinted eyes so awesome
I probably won't remember a word you said because I'm vibing too hard with the nostalgia trip that is the Warioland 4 soundtrack! Amazing music choice!!
7:13 there can only be 1 spiderman in the tasm universe. Richard used his own DNA to make the spiders, so only his Relatives can obtain the powers 🤓 (unless another spider goes to the dimension)
that looks fucking awesome. i don’t want the Spiderman suits to look nearly exactly the same every time. the amazing spiderman 1 suit is just the classic suit with slight differences

That's why TASM1 Suit works for that movie, because by the second film Peter already got over that revenge path and lean more into the classic hero path, and that is represented with peter having now a more classic accurate suit.
Man…that first amazing Spider-Man suit was so incredible to me. So cool
Coming after Across the Spiderverse:
Spiderman 2099 now has a cape but ditches it
I like the angrier looking spiderman
No matter how much worse it could've been, the suit we actually got was still awful, it's like they tried to adapt a suit drawn by a little kid who thought random shapes made it cooler
No way bro they referenced the PSM birthday suit 13 years before he did it
That is definitely one of the suits made
The tasm suits are the best live action suits
A little disagree. I like TASM 2 better than TASM 1, but both are not perfect. I don't like that in both suits the spider design is very similar to Tobey's but with longer legs. Also, I find it very lazy that both suits have the same spider design on the back of the suit as the front without any significant changes as with Tobey's suit.
3:30 Tbh these would look WAAAY better in 2D or a different more defined 3d model. Especially the middle one
It'd be sick to see even a 'cameo' of the first shot in Spiderverse 2
I really like the webbing come out of the back logo on the Miles
I didn't fully appreciate the TASM suit until using it in the Insomniac game. I kinda wish they reused it for NWH to make Andrew's Spidey more distinctive from Tobey's.
True but it wouldn’t have made sense since that would be implying that Andrew’s Peter wore his old suit for no reason after the events of TASM 2.
Nah Amazing Spider-Man 2 suit is the best and the lenses are beautiful.
I understand why Spider-Man fans were shocked at first but idk man, it’s just so much more genuine and believeable, I dig it 🤙🏽
some of these designs remind me of this one creepypasta i read quite a while ago
from what i remember it goes smth like this:
the main character finds this weird spidey action figure at a nerdy store/comic shop/whatever, its all red with weird protruding messy black webbing and a realistic 3d spider in place of a logo
when he buys it out of curiosity, he finds out it came with a tie-in comic
he reads the comic, and its basically like the normal spidey origin up until when he gets bitten
when peter parker gets bitten by the spider, red shit forms all around his body along with spider webs, and the spider rests on his chest
after this he goes around killing everyone, yk standard creepypasta stuff, i think the guy who bought the figure was haunted by spooky evil spider-man or whatever
i just found it interesting that some of these designs were basically what i pictured while reading that story, especially the ones with the venom-like eyes
So if anyone trash talks the Tasm1 Suit Just show them the unmade suits.
Steve Ditko whether intentional or not drew spiderman to be creepy cause he was an artist who did creepy designs so I think the movies suit actually evoked that well
We actually live in a nicer timeline for once
I really liked the TASM 1 suit its unique and not childish , it instills fear and is like a proper vigilante type
Tbh I loved the TASM1 Spider-Man suite
I actually dug their attempt to explain the "first suit" construction. They showed peter looking for ski / sports spandex suits and ordering one he liked in red and blue. That makes sense in context of the odd red and blue placement. The flow looks like a sports suit. He just added the spiders, webs, mask and used sunglasses for the eye lenses because that makes sense. And he made the boots using sports shoes and even used watches as the basis of his webshooters. All of it makes contextual sense and I didn't mind it.
The lack of a 'belt' breaking up the blue from the front is what ruins the tasm suit imo
How dramatic you are in the beginning is perfect
HELL TO THE YES I LOVED THIS MOVIE. ahem i loved this suit and darker version cuz it goes with the story line and where he lives and what environment he grew up in and i love the yellow tinted eyes so awesome
The TASM1 suit is like the micheal bay transformers of spidey suits
I probably won't remember a word you said because I'm vibing too hard with the nostalgia trip that is the Warioland 4 soundtrack! Amazing music choice!!
I don't mind the TASM 1 suit. It actually looks something a teenage would sew/design, so it works within the contest of the film.
