Fun fact, the first LEGO MCU Spider-Man (released in the Civil War line of sets) was actually based off of this suit, before being updated for the Homecoming, making that specific figure significantly more rare in the process.
Seeing as they only updated the torso, that's probably the reason MCU spidey always gets molded with dark blue and red instead of more screen accurate colors like they did with the What If version
@@Lexious_Mofaa The arm printing is also slightly different (with the black line going down the arm on the Civil War figure, rather than segmenting the shoulders) but I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re right. I’m just hoping we get an MCU Spidey with an accurate blue once they inevitably make a set with his final NWH suit
I do like the scrapped suit better than the suit they chose but I wouldn’t like the fact that it would’ve been made by Tony Stark and not by Peter Parker

Yeah it sucks tony came up with the Spiderman look. Why couldn't he find a drawing of the suit that Peter couldnt make when he found peters homemade suit.
As much as I love this suit, in terms of story wise I don’t think having a suit so classic early on in MCU Spider-Man’s career would work especially with the NWH ending suit being a thing. Maybe this should’ve been the far from home suit cause I guess that would work better in terms of story placement. I personally never minded the black bands as I always thought they were a substitute for the lack of visibility of the webs.

In that case, they could have just given us thw CGI webbing. They could have given us an entirely CGI suit if they wanted. It doesn't explain why this specific design was scrapped. My theory is that it has something to do with marvel’s commitment issues with CGI. Marvel movies use so much cgi to leave their options open and it’s why some suits are never made (like the quantum suits in endgame). I think that they knew the suit wouldn’t be the final design but made it anyway for an outline for the VFX artist to use, hence the cgi bands tom has in some photos.
I really like this suit. It was inspired by the Jhon romita sr art which was my fav Spider man artist. It also has the new elements added to it like the techy style and raised webbing.
13:48 It makes sense, in the morbius trailer that shows spiderman, and it was clearly supposed to be Tom Holland version, they use the Sam Raime suit from the PS4 game
I will say, what I prefer about the mid-production suit is the back logo which looks so good! But aside from that I think I still prefer the stark suit but it's just my taste. Altho, the mid-production back logo on the nwh final suit would have looked so cool
The fact that it’s a very close adaptation of the Romita Sr suit, has perfect colors, and modernizes it while also not overdoing it is what makes it my favorite live action suit. I mean the stark suit in civil war was really good but it was heavily downgraded in Homecoming. The unused suit feels more mature and heroic which would’ve made it perfect for the end of NWH imo.
Apparently it got replaced because the suit was unfinished and kept falling apart since Tom was rushed onto set at the last moment . I’m pretty sure I’m behind the scenes you can even see a guy still painting the costume

However, the newest suit from No away Home to me is honestly MCU Spider-Man perfection, with it looking exactly like a comic Spider-Man suit with bright and vibrant colors, no extra lines or unnecessary details, as well as a cool yet simple spider logo on both sides. If anyone disagrees, I’m honestly confused as to why because it’s exactly what we’ve all been wanting as far as I’m aware, but I’m open to other opinions
Kai I remember hearing that the original suit was scrapped because the raised webbing lines kept coming off the suit, which started getting annoying for the costume designers who had to fix it over and over again
I think something worth noting about all this is that there was a Lego figure of this suit made for Lego Civil War sets, and since the film wasn’t complete at the time the sets came out, Lego had to use this prototype suit as reference for making the figure.
