Theres a popular theory going around, it might be a little out there but the facts don’t lie. The Yiga all dress very similarly, they all live to serve their master, they have the one eye design. The only visible hair is on their head, they have survived for centuries and they all love bananas. I think it is very clear now that the Yiga are the next evolution of the Minions from Despicable me. The facts don’t lie !
My god you've done it
YOOoooOOOOO WE HAVE A MASSIVE BRAIN HERE

This is probably the best comment I've seen. Ever.
*OH SHIT!!!*
Also, the new favorite foods of the Sheikah are Fortified Pumpkins, which increase defense, and Swift Carrots, which make you go faster. That shows that they no longer want to fight. And the prong on the Eightfold Blade seems like it could be used for catching an enemy’s sword to disarm the enemy.

but the only blight I died to, and I will add, multiple times; especially after trying to skip to the castle, was Waterblight.
Even with the knowledge of cryonis being able to break ice, which... I got... very late... the only way I was able to beat him was spamming the hell out of the few bomb arrows I had into it's eye.
i see you dont panic to the point of being in bullet time whenever thunderblight moves an inch
@@dunkleosteusterrelli BIG same. Thunderblight was fast. That's not scary, just irritating. Waterblight though... Waterblight ended me so many times. The fight was close quarters with big hits in an environment where you move slowly.

Another potential solution to your issue around why Link would be frightened by the Blights. I always assumed he developed PTSD (or something similar, I’m no mental health professional) because, though the boss fights are easy, being faced off against a foe of such magnitude that killed your friends, one of your love interests, and Ravioli would probably have a significant mental impact. However, this is also just pure conjecture
I do believe he definitely would have ended up with some sort of ptsd because he can't remember what happened to him,all his friends are dead, and he would probably end up blaming himself for their deaths, and all that on top of having to save practically the entire world

the great eagle's bow shoots three arrows for the cost of one and if I remember correctly the game also give you bomb arrows, if it was given the fight might have been way too easy,. Keep in mind that you can use champions abilities during the rematch agains blights it would have been too easy for windblight .
Oh really? I completely forgot about the three shot thing...I wasn't sure if it was not used because it was too op or not but that detail makes it much more of a possibility!
@@NintendoBlackCrisis dang a lot of people don't give the great eagle bow a shot. Its 28 power 3 shot with nearly pinpoint accuracy which is the only multishot bow that can pull that off. Lynel bows are the only ones that surpass it in power but the accuracy of that bow is amazing. I rebuilt mine about 5 times
With such a badass weapon it is pretty sad that Revali screwed up and lost that fight.
@@Flaris right in Revali's pride.
Alternatively Revali was maybe not afraid of the blight itself but more afraid of being shown up by link with HIS signature weapon.
Aka Revali be going "he has the sword he's not out doing me with MY bow"
Maybe Revali was the only one who didn't want Link touching his stuff, lol.
That’s very Revali of him
@@noizepusher7594Nintendo probably didn’t give the great eagle bow only because they realized it was broken, but this theory is way funnier so I’m going with this one
14:52-15:17 This sounds crazy, but hear me out:
What if Revali didn't have the Great Eagle Bow in his battle with Windblight Ganon? It would explain its abscence in the rematch fight. Revali claimed he could've taken it on and won if he wasn't unlucky, which does sound in-character with his blowhard nature, but maybe he was telling the truth? If he didn't have his best weapon on him for some reason, of course he wouldn't be able to fight at his full potential.
Alternatively, if the rematches are based on the fears of the Champions', maybe a big fear Revali had was that without such a weapon, he felt worthless next to the other Champions? It's interesting to note that out of all of them, Revali isn't a proper knight like Link (who's own father was a revered knight himself), or a tribal leader/royalty like the others. Being next to others born into greatest or had a lineage, while he had to work his way there, must've hurt his ego immensely.
Heck, of the other Champions, Link's the closest of them to a commoner like Revali, and the former was granted the title of the Hero of Legend. Of course Revali would be jealous towards him.
But hey, that's just a theory.
This is actually a really good take! Makes me kinda feel for Revali... only kinda.
A NINTENDO *GAME THEORY*!
that must've been a huge punch to his pride
Never in my life did I think anyone could get me to feel sorry for that bird brain even momentarily, but you have somehow found a way! I feel kinda sorry for Revali now, AND I'M NOT OK WITH THAT! HOW AM I FEELING SORRY FOR THAT JERK?!?! WHAT EVEN?!?!

*"They stand now."*
Maz Koshia’s entry is huge when you think about it. The only monk who even so much as moves. And his intro is great too.
I feel like everyone forgets that if the other monks had a little more resilience. The monks aren't ghosts or zombies, they're just mummified humans. Most of them have been mummified for so long that them simply giving a spirit orb to link makes them crumble up Thanos style. Maz Koshia was just build different
YOU SAID THE "Z" WORD!
Jokes aside, Maz Koshia is definitely a worthwhile topic! And the Illusory Realms do seem to be based on the Champions' fears themselves rather than Link's. I just played through them yesterday, and I had the same thoughts! Excellent work!
Definitely heard it coming "if you look at where the bananas are common "
Yep, he's about to say Zonai
"They're primally found in the Faron region, ancestral home of the Zonai"
There it is
Bruh those cracking noises when the monk stood up gave me shivers
To answer why revalis bow isnt in the fight in the illusory realm, the reason being that it probably broke during the fight considering that this is botw and he uses his weapon the most out the all the champions because it is shown in memories that revali constantly trains, and when he dose it causes more damage to the bow due to how it has a string and isnt metal like a sword. In otherwords, training with a bow damages the bow more than it would if you were training with a sword.
Oh god thats kinda dark
His own desire to be better screwd him over in the end. That's actually super dark/sad.

@@PitXRoxas exactly. Hell if the future Champions are characters id pay for as DLC.
The thumbnails makes it look like Maz Koshia is wearing a helicopter hat.
I actually replayed this recently. As cool as the boss fight is, the trial itself is so creative
My theory: The reason why the champions have divine beasts is because Maz Koshia most likely gave the champions trials and when they completed them, they acquired a divine beast, if this is true, then Link is a divine beast tamer, therefore, the master cycle is part of his divine beast (the divine beast he acquired when he defeated Maz Koshia, the bigger version of the master cycle is the divine beast), don't quote me, this is just a theory.
Age of Calamity confirmed to us that Monk Maz Koshia is the only Shekiah to had received a divine revolution from goddess Hylia, making him as old as the Great Calamity itself. Hence why he is the only one who is shown to stand and challenge the hero during the trial
Ok hear me out here: what if... Maz Koshia is one of the characters in Smash Bros Fighter Pass 2?
I think it's impossible but seeing joker in smash maybe there is little chance
I change my mind its impossible
I think impa might have a chance but im not sure because of Shiek
Holy sat your a genious turn aroundd and file an application to Nintendo
In combined range, draw speed, durability, dmg and being triple shot Great Eagle Bow is possibly the best bow in the game. So I'm sure it's pure balancing.
Side note revali failed despite a super op bow
Yeah I’ve always wondered how he got clapped by windblight like you have a god bow and the blight only had lasers cmon man 🦅
Also windblight was the easiest boss in my opinion
@@kellen8405 Ritos bones are hallow one hit by a laser would greatly impair any ritos chance of flying till they can rest, and Revali had to fight to the death, along with flying if he was hit he could have difficulty drawing his bow at all after he was hit one time by the blight.
@@kellen8405 The Blights are also only Malice and Guardian parts, therefore things like stamina don't apply to them.
Each blight was created to be the hard counter for the champion it fights against. The tornadoes Windblight creates can throw Revali out of the sky and make his arrows lose their direction, it shoots way faster than him and it has help from his flying miniguns. Also apparently Revali fought him at night. This doesn't seem like a big problem until we learn from a rito woman in gerudo town that a rito doesn't have great night vision, so all Revali could rely on was the sound of moving wind, which isn't really helpful when you fight on something that is high in the sky, constantly moving and you hear the wind rushing past it the whole time, and the few lights that Windblight had on him. I don't have night vision myself. Trust me when I say that these few things don't really help to pinpoint where something is at night. But its still impressive that he apparently lasted the longest out of all the champions, if you consider that his SOS, which you can hear when you are in Vah Medoh, started way later than the other champions SOS which lead many fans to believe that Revali lasted the longest against his blight and only sent out the SOS when he was nearly dead
ok kinda off topic but I just had a pretty weird dream that happens after you beat breath of the wild
like
hyrule castle is flying with the weird ancient technology
and all 4 divine beasts are blue and just kinda roaming around
then like a malice.. cloud.. thing pops up next to hyrule castle
and a bunch of like hinoxes keep coming out of it to attack the flying castle
but theyre like weird malice induced hinoxes
and then you have to shoot the weird hinoxes in the eye with the bow of light
and then vah medoh comes falling from the sky
with its right wing tore off
and crashes into a mountain
and like
then link shoots the weird hinoxes a ton, but not in the eye
eventually the half-hinox half-dark beast ganon looking thing starts going towards link
and at that moment I was in links body / pov and I got so scared I woke up
I know this was a while ago, but you wrote a whole final boss in your dreams. 👍skillz
@@inkspill5547 probably would've been longer but you don't understand how horrifying it is to randomly be put in the body of a person fighting off 20ft hinoxes with a special bow when I literally don't know how to shoot a bow so I woke up :P
Not having the great eagle bow in the illusory battle against windblight ganon might just come down to the bow being too powerful for how easy of a boss wind blight ganon is lmao, I don't think there's a lore based reason

I really hope too see some more backstory on the Sheikah and the events of 10,000 years ago in age of calamity. I know it's set 100 years prior but there's still a possibility of some stories and possibly even a cutscene in the new game.
When you said that you recently got Misery, my heart dropped because I just heard about that today and what happens in it

I guess it's just one of those things where you don't notice it until you know about it then you see it everywhere.
The best part about fighting Maz Koshia was how all of his attacks are a combination of many different enemies, each of them that you should have learned by then how to counter. Imo, it's the ultimate test on just how good you are at the game and I bet it was a big eye opener for most players (including me 🙃).
Imagine going to a wax museum and looking at hundreds of the statues, then one of them get up and start beating the sh*t out of you, that’s what it’s like
Ah shit,night at the museum.
I remember watching moz kashia move and I was like H U H 0_0 I remember how freaked I was it was amazing
I've been replaying the series in preparation for Age of Calamity, and something struck me about the Gorons that reminded me of something.
Then I realized it: the Pequeninos (Portugese for Little Ones, alternatively Piggies) from Orson Scot Card's book "Speaker for the Dead" and other books in the "Ender's Game" series. (Spoilers for Speaker for the Dead)
Both species seem to only have one gender, and call each other "Brother" with very rare references to Father/Son. Both species seem very tied to their environment, with Gorons basically being rocks living on a mountain (and seem to turn more rocky/ volcano-ish as they get older), and the Pequeninos live in the forest and turn into trees when they die. Both are suprisingly good craftsmen with their particular material (wood for Pequeninos, stone and iron for Gorons) and work well with humans/ hylians but generally keep to their own civilization and cities.
"Speaker for the Dead" came out in 1986 to interest and acclaim in the Sci-Fi community, winning the Hugo and Nebula awards. There was plenty of time for the developers to read it and include some inspirations from it into the Gorons for Ocarina of Time (over 10 years).
I'd be interested about what others think about this, and if anyone else even realized that there was a whole series of books that followed the famous "Ender's Game." Anyone who is interested can make a video on this. It might lead to some new and interesting theories about Gorons.
I'm surprised you didn't mention how the modern Sheikah's food grants defense and speed buffs, which fits the way they act in the modern day, compared to the attack oriented Yiga and ancient Sheikah.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to your favourite game show, “does NBC mention the Zonai this video!” Survey says... yes he does!
No hate tho I love your vids
That segway to that audible ad was absolutely amazing, I was just like damn wow he got me lol
About the great eagle bow, gameplay wise, it will be an overkill against the already super easy windblight ganon, story wise, who knows
two years late so probably no one will see this, but maybe the reason link isnt given the great eagle bow in the illusory realm when revali did is because in addition to fearing windblight ganon, maybe revali is afraid of not having it? and that fear of not having his prized bow was strong enough to carry over with the fear of windblight ganon. there might be some self-worth implications as well as others here but im too tired to try and think through them
I just noticed when the blights die they have purple beams instead of sheikah blue. The same colour as the beam that hits revali in the age of calamity trailer.
What if revali almost finished the blight off but he got bested in a final fury? And maybe it has something to do with the fact you don't use his bow as link?
I'd assume the blights can regenerate, so it wouldn't be far fetched (to me anyways) to say that revali could've almost won but got beat while it was on its death bed.
Just something I noticed.
Considering Revali's immense pride of himself, I could see this failure of the bow to be reason enough for him to ditch it and choose a better one.
I love how Monk Maz Koshia combines traits from all sheikah, really creates the Common Ancestor vibe. He might be Kohga's ancestor or just someone who also had access to that skill, like Kohga's ancestor could've been part of some elite group that Maz Koshia was also in.
Wait... If he's facing the champions fears, why isn't he fighting dogs?
If you read Robbie's journal, it says something along the lines of "once me and purah put link into the shrine..." So I think that the two people that picked up link from a fight at fort hetano were Robbie and purah

What if kogha is maz koshia’s disciple or something like that. Because monks don’t usually have children ya know
As cool as that would be, it’s not possible. Because Maz Koshia has been in that shrine for god knows how long, and there’s no way Kohga’s been alive long enough to have known Maz Koshia before he was enshrined and basically mummified.

You are probably a bot but just in case, Botw is obviously in the future. Its stated many times throughout the game and has been confirmed by Nintendo.
Matt Nelson 😆 😂 😛 lol
Majora I’m not a bot but thx
it takes place in a different universe
The Yiga could have been Maz Koshia's disciples/followers, and part of the reason they defected may have been the decision to effectively imprison their master for possibly eternity within a shrine--mummified and immortal, denied rest--for some hero that was believed dead/proven weak during the initial Calamity. Demoralized, estranged Sheikah mourning the loss of their beloved mentor. Just a thought, and feeds into Kohga and others wielding similar abilities.
The way I always viewed the weapons you have for the Illusory Battles is that the Champions are giving Link their power, the weapons and tools they used/their strength. Why is WindBlight different? Revali hates Link he didn't want him to succeed
wouldn't be surprised if Ravali some how purposefully withheld the bow he used against wind blight from like in a rival type move like, "If you really want to prove yourself that make do with less then i had." type thing.
Not me getting a Dole bananas advertisement halfway through the video 😭
Not going to lie, that might be one of the best sponsor tie it's I have seen. Well done.
I purposefully stalled in that battle just to listen to the music. Maz Koshia has good music taste
Pretty good so far - *around **9:25* - "Sir may I interest you in the Zonai?"
Personally I see Maz Koshia's line of the fear that dwells within as Link's own fear of Ganon and his previous failure to save Hyrule, as well as fear of the blights themselves because they killed the champions, as courage is not the lack of fear but overcoming it
6:35 the only time I have heard of this was in the 2012 TMNT tv show, where Splinter taught these words to Leonardo as a healing Mantra, in which was used to heal poison in the episode
Edit: in the episode it’s a healing Mantra that both Splinter and Leo use to expel Karai’s poison
Sooo..
I was expecting the fight and the music from livestreams and videos of people fighting him and even though I beat him on first try, I was still intimidated by him.
I had always assumed in the illusory battles you were reliving the battle that killed each champion with exactly what they had on them at the time, overcoming a challenge they could not. Maybe ravioli left his bow in the care of the elder thinking he wouldn't need it to fire a big lazer out of a giant robot
"It was able to best me 100 years ago... but only because I was winging it."
Maybe he meant he didn't have his bow for some reason.
Okay; with a bit of research, I found Revali did NOT in fact have his bow with him in the memory of the calamity awakening. At the base of the mountain, right before he flies up to the air - it's not there.
For some unknown reason, he did not bring his great eagle bow with him up Mt. Lanayru, so when he flew to his divine beast - a seemingly direct flight - he was quite literally "winging" it. At least, as far as gameplay and Links memories serve.
That, or at some point on the mountain, it broke (durability and all that, assuming the characters follow the gameplay rules)
@@Aluandale or maybe his worst fear is using inferior equipment, haha.

That sponsor segue was flawless right at the beginning
They probably didn't add the great eagle bow because of game balance since it would deal 84 damage every time fired (not accounting for crits) and has a fast rate of fire you can go into bullet time mode and nuke windblight with no effort, since these fights are meant to be challenging it would trivialize the battle
The introduction of the theme of Koshia's fight is really similar to Death by Glamour in Undertale (Metaton's 2nd theme )
When I was about to battle maz koshia I went crazy when his finger moved
To be fair the fight've might've been a bit too easy with the Great Eagle Bow considering how powerful it is

8:40 the shekia can actually be seen next to the divine beasts in the clip your showing
About Windblight's Illusory Realm, the Great Eagle Bow is probably the most powerful of the champion weapons. You still get a Falcon Bow, which Revali presumably would have used at some time, so I always assumed the devs just didn't want the Windblight rematch to be too easy.
