I'd love to see a "4 weeks later" update for these guys.
poketvenus or 4 month??
poketvenus that’s a great idea!
Or a year
Or two years
Or three years
"can you un-sickle your foot please?" SHHIIIIIIIIT
Fuck
Ass
Bitch
What does un-sickle mean? (I'm still learning)
Aylin Rodríguez sickling is when your pointed foot curves inwards. you want to point straight out through the tips of your toes rather than pointing in.
The first dude who got fitted had the prettiest feet in pointe shoes.
Aves Raggiana the cutest feet
@@losenti926 The cutest feet, on the cutest guy!
Aves Raggiana 🔥
Really elegant
Y’all have a foot fetish lmao
This video has made me so confident about getting into pointé! I am a boy that does ballet in Australia and has been offered to do pointé, although I lost a lot of hope because my peers always tell me, “Boys can’t do pointé, you’ll never do pointé.” But this has really made me much more confident and excited to know that boys can do pointé.
FYI: I am in Year 6. 😬😩😊⚡️
I know this comment is from a year ago and idk if your on pointe or not but I’d you do get pointe shoes and try it I bet you will do great and any gender can do pointe no matter what someone says ( as long as their ready )
Don't give up! You CAN do it!
First off - Anyone can do anything! It may not work the same as someone else, it may take more work and require adjustments that others may not need, but the end result is setting a goal and achieving it in a way YOU can manage! I recommend you watch the video of Katelyn Ohashi tackling the Marine Obstacle course. She's not perfect, she has limitations that require her to seek assistance (which she does!) but she makes it through and enjoys the process regardless of the setbacks.
Second - Whatever you do, do it safely! One thing I like about watching Josephine is that she stresses doing the right thing for you.
I'm impressed with this lady's instant and accurate assessments and suppositions of these guy's feet! She really knows her onions!
um what is an onion in that sense?
@@carlyrose9047oke she knows her stuff. She knows what she has to know
She really knows her onions huh???
Jane Laurent onions- What she’s working with
Waaay back when a lot of knowledge came from the agricultural aspect of life...to know your onions meant that you were skilled at knowing your craft...because there wasn't just one type of onion there were and still are many types which are better suited to making certain dishes...
That woman is amazing. So much knowledge. Total pro.
Lara King she is fitting my first pointe shoes next week😊
Addie Britt she fitted me last year she’s so nice and now I found the right pointe shoes because of her:)
Pizza Is life same
I know right 🙂
I know its not traditional but More men should go on pointe tbh
Yup, and more modern choreographers should feature men on pointe. I thought it was a kind of dancer-y thing people say until I watched the trocaderos, but I was like, "they're right, it's a different 'attack' (to me, it's something about the balances and landings)to women on pointe."
Yes
Yes I have seen quite a few shows where guys were on point in serious shows not in a joking way most of them were new shows though so not really hyper focused on female leads and storylines more focused on male characters but it was really beautiful seeing guys & girls lined up on point.
@@minwellitsanicknamebegrate2531
Yes this is exactly what I meant I hate how when people give examples of men on pointe it’s in a joking or mocking manner I’m so happy to see we are moving in a more progressive relationship with dance and gender
The tricks Ballerinos do in ballet are not suitable nor safe to be wearing en pointe shoes on
Omg. I think when I was a kid I did theatre with that first dude. Yes have confirmed with my bff. 😂
For real? That's cool lmao
For real lololololo

"It doesn't jam when I bourrée." Hearing that from a guy trying out pointe shoes makes me giggle, and I don't know why. I retired from ballet long before any of these remarkable young men were even born. I only regret NEVER having taken pointe, I think my feet would have improved in strength and flexibility.
Since it's been so long since you left Ballet, are your feet and ankles still strong? I'm fascinated by Ballet dancers and their strength. Just curious, don't have to answer if it's too personal of a question. :)
@@ashleymccarty Thank you for your question, and it's not too personal at all. I'm absolutely certain that my feet and ankles are NOT as strong as they used to be because there's no physical activity that works ALL the muscles in your lower legs and feet in quite the same thorough way ballet does. Having said that, even with my pine board feet (low arch, no instep, and just like these guys, inflexible ankles), and even though it's been many years, the mobility and strength in my feet and ankles is still greater than that of a person who's never danced. In other words you lose a lot of strength and flexibility through disuse and the passing of time, but you still end up with more than the average, non-dancer person.
It is NEVER too late!
I am 40 years old and just starting a "re-training" program in ballet after over 20 yrs of no training. My goal is to build my strength and flexibility enough for pointe. I believe it is truly never too late.
I’m surprise that if there’s a whole theater troupe of men on point, that the manufacturers aren’t scrambling to make bigger shoes. I mean they want to make money don’t they?
They're actually multiple brands that have started making pointe shoes for men recently :)
Well, many of the trocks have custom shoes, since they do it full time. They special order them to fit them from whatever pointe shoe company they prefer.
As I understand it the profit margins for pointe shoe manufacturers is incredibly slim.
I’m a man, and my dream growing up was to be able to dance in pointe. It’s nice to know that there is that possibility for others.
This is a late reply but I hope you tried to learn and are able to do it now!
the first guy had really pretty feet
tell me why i have no ballet experience other than taking it from 4yrs old to 9 yrs old but im still watching this lolol
Cause we never gave up that dream of being a world known ballerina.....we just had to grow up.
No ballet experience at all, but I find her videos so interesting
if you took ballet for 5 years then you have experience
Taylor Vlogs not really...ballet at age 4-9 isn’t REAL ballet. Its just fun and games haha
Taylor Vlogs yeah it is but it’s not that much
Business opportunity: pointe shoes and toe pads for men
(Not my business but someone out there can be a revolutionary lol)
Tati D Siberian pointe shoes has actually released a shoe specifically for men!
That's exactly what I thought.
Siberian Swan Rudolfs!!!! Designed specifically for men! (I have a brother who just got fitted for pointe shoes so... I know)
Haha my brother tried pointe. We both have done ballet, and I’m sad to say that he may look better because he has an amazing arch. 😂
A professional video
From a very professional specialist and great passionate from this job
Great work 🙌🙌🙌🙌
I really think ballet should snap out of the gender divide. Love to seethis and also the comments of men/boys who are/ want to be en pointe🥳💚😊
It is happening, slowly... very, very slowly.
5:30 minute mark - the guy in red looks terrified
I'm one of those unfortunate females born too tall and too large to participate "seriously" in ballet and/or gymnastics. I've always been kind of sad about that. It doesn't keep me from admiring and enjoying watching those that can, however. I Love watching ballet and women's gymnastics. I guess you could say I'm kind of living through them without the pain. LOL
Susan Davis I also am too tall, with shoulders like a footballer ( in uniform!). I danced until I was 16, but then serious school/college exams took up too much time. My dream has always been to be about 5’3” with straight black hair. Deep sighs from large blonde!
when she said “can you unsickle your foot a little bit”... i gagged🤣🤣🤣
I adore that they are really calm and not like screaming as we can see in other videos. I know, obviously they are professional dancers. But it's good they are open.
Not even remotely into ballet but I really enjoyed this!
If I had had this opportunity, I would have decided to dance on pointe, but unfortunately it passed me by. But had there been in my time so great women who help men to find the right shoes who knows where I would be today^^
Never done or tried to do ballet... And yet I've been binge watching all the videos.. Lol
I've never really understood why it's not usual for men to do pointe? I don't feel like they have a physical disadvantage, the thing you mention with most of them having stiffer ankles than women I suspect boils down to most women having been en pointe since their tweens so they have really worked that ankle felixibilty. Is it a silly gender norm thing? Apart from a few modern ballets I've seen, guys seldom have intriguing choreographies and are utilised only as support for the women as well.
the guys were looking that they just wanted to get home as soon as possible to start playing with the shoes
That moment when you dance on an ingrown toenail...
even wearing socks on an ingrown toenail is terrible
Siberian Swans have created pointe shoes for men I hear! Do you carry them?
I don’t even dance so I don’t know why this was on my recommend. But like. I’m here for it. It’s interesting
6:28 some crunchy crunchy biscuits XD I'm a guy but I started pointe at 14 so my ankles are still extremely flexible even after 3 years of no dance. I'm also weirdly relieved to see that being a XXX wide in blochs isn't /that/ wide for a guy :P
I think the ankle flexibility comes down to training. As a nondancing female, I have about the same flexibility in my ankles that they do.
Your second sentence kind of prove the first sentence wrong :)
@@ytk4rv FRR
I actually was fitted for pointe before! I honestly enjoyed it if I’m gonna be honest! I actually didn’t feel too much pain when trying on pointe shoes for the first time! I would love to take more beginner pointe classes in the future!
next video: teaching guys how to sew pointe shoes
really shows the breadth of knowledge this woman has she can tell so much about a dancer at a second's glance in different positions
That sad moment when you’re a girl whose feet looks like the guys’ 😭😂

The fitter is so knowledgeable and patient.
She was often in class at the Peninsula Ballet San Mateo , Yes she has very good technique , did class on pointe shoes .
What pointe shoes are they all being fitted with, exactly?
Looks like all Russian Pointes to me, although I can't tell the model.
Looks like Russian pointe, the color of the satin and the sticker on the shoe
Russian pointes are very narrow though, so maybe it's a different brand.
Very interesting to see this though!
looks like grisko 2007 or something similar to me
@@paulahills9546 I have quite wide large feet and RP has had a more comfortable selection from my experience
My dance teacher hated me as a kid. I'm size 13 women shoe (North American size) and just shy of 6 feet. When I was a kid, I was already size 9. She refused to continue to teach me ballet. I was too tall, feet too big, hair too short... Hated her so much. I love these videos with men & women. It shows that there's a pointe shoe for every size. I wish now (many decades later!) that I had allowed her to make me feel like I had to quit.
My grandmother womens size 13 feet but her feet were only womens size 9 when she was 12 years old. 🎭🩰🎨
4th reason - You just want to. :)
Navaji you need loads of experience of ballet 😂
It's claudia Honestly I ’m not sure what your trying to say.
@@Navaji She means that you can't just wear these without a lot of training in ballet. You will hurt your feet and knees if you have no or bad instruction.
NataliaEnchantix I am aware of that. I’ve been a professional dancer for 11 years and train and teach pointe. My original comment was based on the fact that a desire to be en pointe wasn’t listed as one of the reasons why a guy would be en pointe. Any serious ballet dancer or teacher knows point is serious business. My comment stems from the fact that you need to want it. If the guy wants to be on pointe the he CAN and should be able to train on pointe. It doesn’t just have to be for comedy and there is no need to be exclusive. These days I believe women should be encouraged to do more things that were once inherently only for men and vice versa.
NataliaEnchantix exactly!
I had never realized men didn’t do it that often…and I love men in pointe shoes…give us more!
This may just be me, but why do some dancers (not just these men) crunch their toes when they point? I was taught that you are supposed to elongate and stretch your foot but when they crunch they're toes it just takes away the effect of long beautiful pointed toes.
Dane Burch I noticed this! My friend used to do this until a new teacher told her about it and now she doesn’t do it! It’s cheating the point
What's their Instagrams? Lol I love following male ballet dancers
Wow. Fabulous expertise.
How do they learn to walk quietly in them in time for a performance? I haven't been on pointe for decades, but I remember that being an issue. Can't be clonking around on stage like a pony ... First dude had a really nice arch, though.
AS someone who has broken my right ankle 3 times and had 2 lateral ligament reconstructions and also has developed accessory navicular syndrome, that i am probably going to need another surgery to sort out. I MARVEL AT THE THINGS THAT DANCERS CAN DO WITH THERE FEET AND ALMOST CRY THINKING ABOUT THE PUNISHMENT AND PAIN BALLET DANCERS GO THROUGH.
What sizes were these ? I wear a women’s 11 , and I never can try shoes on in stores bc people don’t keep them stocked !
11 is nothing. They were around a Men size 13... which is like a 14 in women.
My feet run 2 number sizes smaller in men's. So I'm a 7 or boys 5. I wear men's shoes more than most women, and often can't try them on because they don't stock things that small!
@@beautywearsboots6458 I'm a 17 year old boy with a size 5 kids sized foot
I have this problem too, and wide feet. It's so frustrating.
Yes! I am 12 and a size 11 in women’s shoes
I realy wish i could where point shoe, btw im 14 and its my wish to be a ballerina but i want to where a point shoe thats why my parents said no because point shoe is for girls only...
On top of that you need to be certified before he can even go on point shoes it takes years
tbh I am no dancer and far from ballerina.. but seeing how she gives them comfort with the shoes gives her enough credit to be supported
Me watching this: **puts on pointe shoes for no freaking reason**
I got my point shoes about a month ago and I hope in the future I can get fitted by you
I just started watching videos and learning all of this cool stuff. I was wondering earlier today if men ever wear Pointe.
May offer up an opportunity to have a male line for toe pads for pointe? Would help expand your ballet product needs both online, and in store fitting. Seems like it's becoming time for these additional product size beyond what was normal five years ago, vs now. Best of luck to all these wonderful men! Turn out, and those strong ankles are just beautiful. Take care, 🤓
The first dudes feet are so prettily arched.
I’m not a dancer, so this may be a silly question, but if it is not very uncommon for men to go on pointe, why aren’t there pointe shoes made for men? I understand that it is not common, but it sounds like it happens enough that there would be a niche market.
Who stocks these sizes? I wear 42 in EU sizes which is quite big. 41 is usually the largest size for females. I wish I could have pointes one day, but I live in Serbia. I doubt anyone stocks them here.
Try Siberian swans...online Russian company.
@@dianebrady6784 They seem great, hope they live to expectations given that I ever order them. Thanks for the reccomendation.
My fitter in finland said that the largest size pointe shoe she has ever sold was 45 in EU sizes and they werent even for a man :D
@@Stammyify Oh wow, that's amazing. Do you know what brand were they?
@@kaca2903 She didn't tell me that, but they stock and sell a lot of russian pointe. And the last pair they sold me (male, 42 foot EU) were also russian pointe Rubin i think. Not quite sure if i like them though :)
I'm not even into ballet but this is so interesting, I'm so used to the feminine type of guys that do this, but seeing an average guy (just my opinion based on my observation but ofc I might be wrong) trying out pointe shoes is the coolest thing.
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
The definitive video
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
As I am watching this, I am sewing my pointe shoes LOL 😂
Pointe should just be a regular thing for men and boys - not just to strengthen them as partners. Change is good
Idk HOW this came on my recommend BUT loved it! Very informative yet i have no clue WHAT half the things u said lol
I used to take classes at The New Ballet School, very good teachers.
I wish the shoe makers could make a bunch of custom made shoes for them.
Several brands of pointes are effectively custom made anyway. Most Grishko are hand made as can be seen from their special order options as are Freed Classic.
I don’t do ballet and I have never had interest in it yet this was recommended to me and I’m watching it lmaooo
Be kind to each other for this video!
my name is Josephine that was weird to hear since I’m watching your channel for the first time 😂
I wonder how much of the ankle issues are truly anatomy vs. the simple fact that they haven't been dancing in pointe shoes since they were 12 like the girls do (that is, anatomy vs. stretching/practice)
When I was getting fitted for my point shoes the fitter told me I have German peasant feet and now I just learned I have men feet 👌nice
7:30 they guy in the middle's arch! 😍
Camille Sutherland its sickled
@@ysabellac.1309 From what I can see only one foot is slighty sicked and even if it is he still has an amazing arch
Did you see the first guys
I DIDNT KNOW MEN DANCED ON POINTE. I went to a ballet a few months ago and none of the guys were on point and when I asked the front desk, she told me men never go on pointe
Chelsey Abbott it’s not super common, but more and more men are dancing en pointe now!
1:42 THAT ZOOM IN THO HAHA
Haha ikr
0:45 You forgot the 4th reason, because they want to. Like me !
What was the name of the company that men wear pointe shoes (English is not my first language and can barely understand what she said) ♥️
diego tejera she said the trockaderos.
I think the New Ballet School. The Trocaderos are a seperate company.
Ballet Trockadero de Monte Carlo, is the full name of the company. They are often affectionately called The Trocks
I think when little boys take ballet classes, after a few years, they should be put en pointe like the girls but just wear black pointe shoes instead of pink.
its a colour,,, its rly not that deep
That color is supposed to match the skincolor...
Only black little boys/girls should wear black (dark brown) shoes. The shoes are suppose to extend the line of the leg so they should match the skin colour or tights of the dancer
Not my dude in the back in 5:37!😂
Lol I'm a girl but I always had a hard time fitting my shoes. I have really wide short feet, with a high arch, but not so flexible ankle. My first pair ended up being a grishko pro 2007 in a 4XXXXX (that's the widest they come in). I swear, I probably tried on 50 pairs of shoes my first fitting and those were the only ones that fit (some brands didn't even come close to offering the width and length I needed). I ended up switching to gaynors because they have more variety in sizing in terms of parts of the shoe that can change (wasn't offered them as my first pair cuz a lot of people don't think beginners should start with them since they're so different, not sure whether I agree with them or not).
Omg I have pretty much the same foot and I’ve had to try sooo many shoes and ya honestly I’ve wanted to try many brands but the shoes were too tight. They weren’t wide enough. Right now I wear Russians rubins and they are pretty good.
Too bad that men only get en pointe for comedic purposes. Would love to see a production of male dancers dancing en pointe in a male costume
I know men have worn pointe shoes to mimic animal hooves.
I like your videos very professional I have a suggestion for you, Can you wear gloves for your protection? you have a tendency to touch your hair after you touch the feets, 😀
what exactly would she be needing gloves for? These are professional dancers. They take care of their feet and theyre highly unlikely to have anything that could be caught. Otherwise theyre in for a fitting on VIDEO. Im pretty sure none of them want to be known as the ones with the stinky feet so im pretty sure theyd have made sure they were clean and fresh.
Where can I buy these shoes I am from Australia. 🤔😅
you can buy pointe shoes from most likely any dance wear shop!
Literally how did I get this far and not understand men go on pointe too
I am a transgender woman and my feet looks exactly like the second guy. I'm not sure if someday I will be able to stand on point. It's really difficult to get over the point correctly.
Really enjoyed this video 😄
I was a professional dancer. My street shoe size is a 14.5 AA. Lol. . Some men have very narrow feet with long toes. I would like to get back into teaching and what company would you recommend to look for a custom fit. The Vaganova releve shoe by Grishko does make a box that fits me but way too short of a vamp and too short wings.
Knowing where the floor is . . . what is done to the shoe so that we don't hear them? Very important.
You roll through your toes and they floor usually has marley which muffles the sound
I am a Male pointe dancer as well
Very informational ❤️
Very interesting! And that couch! 😍
She actually fit my shoes line the first time I got shoes (aka. Like 4 or 5 years ago)
Love this 😍
The slow and steady zoom-ins of the feet cracked me up for some reason
I would love to buy such shoes and walk down the server room and check all the switches. And none of my colleagues would be able to say anything for a bout 2 hours min. :)
so funny how she kept accidentally saying "she" hahaha
I simply cannot stop staring at the first man who gets fitted. He's just too damn handsome (and, if I can add, his feet look perfect)
I'm a guy starting pointe soon, so I would love for Josephine to fit me!
Did Bennett dance at Texas Ballet Theater School?
That was really informative!
