NBA 2K23 is a 2022 basketball simulation video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by Take-Two Interactive under the 2K label, based on the National Basketball Association (NBA). It is the 24th installment in the NBA 2K franchise and the successor to NBA 2K22. The game was released on September 9, 2022 for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. If we are counting Tripple Threat, that is by far the strongest opener for me when catching the ball while still on a ball handler. If we are talking about only moves with the ball on the floor the between the legs (occasionally escapes) into a simple stepback works way more often then it should for me when looking for a shot or a bait the defender into overreacting to pass to a cutter or open shooter. Take this with a grain of salt though as I have way more time working in the post these last two years.
Great video by the way. The tip about the between the legs into the crossover drive was a nice move Im going to try to mess around with later today.

They made the game realistic to the point it only takes 3 dribbles or less to score just like the real Superstars ala Kobe, MJ, Kyrie in one on one situations. Getting back to the fundamentals like 2k20. Real hoopers know 3 dribbles or less to be supreme 🖤💪🏿💯

Im glad that this years dribbling requires patience and decision making. Now people have to actually make moves and not just run around while flicking their RS
I love Basketball but not very good at the game yet. Just started about 2 weeks ago. The only thing I dont like is it seems like 3 pointers are very easy for those who know how to play or played for awhile. Ive played people who seem to never miss a 3 pointer.

2K should add the basic dribble combos for elite dribblers, especially when they got their own animations.
Kinda like Fighting games listing the unique combos for each fighter
Making us figure it all out is too much.
Oh like dribble combos like a in-and-out cross over under the leg to the right behind the back and then show a button layout for that combo? Yes it would be cool but the list would be long

Dribbling feels so wonky now, it’s slowed/delayed and feels like I’m not in control at all. They did right by the stamina bar to limit spamming but they need to bring back the old dribbling functions imo

Holy sht this is hands down the best dribbling video I’ve ever watched. Lol I swear bro nobody ever explains it in terms of actual visual technique and how to know which way to go with an opening. That was my only problem with dribbling, which was I knew how to dribble but i never knew how to read my defender. At least not not like this man. This stuff is way more useful to know then knowing how to combo. I clicked on this video expecting just another run of the mill 2K starter kit dribble “tutorial” which it’s nothing but them showing combo’s. There’s nothing wrong with that but anybody can learn how to flick a stick in different rhythmic directions. Even when I do know how to beat my defender at that moment I don’t really know how to put the exact dribble movement I won’t at that time. Man this guy comes at this like fast pace chess. Bro nice video and you’re very good at explaining ima sub.

why is there no tactical direction when playing exhibition game? in 2k22 its automatic, in 2k23 no tactic direction, can i on it?
If I choose to keep the pro stick on 'shots', is there no way for me to do dribble moves now? Bc I find for me that I'm able to drive hard to the basket and also dunk easier when using the pro stick as opposed to pressing square. But then having the pro stick on shots makes it so that I don't know how to dribble. Anyone have any answers?

I like the restrictions they put on dribbling but they changed some of the controls for dribbling which is what I don't like. I can't find the recreate some of the same moves I did last year like the split dribble. I used to do that in stride. Now I can't get it down for the life of me

Dropping This Week!
For some reason, I get a lot of hesitation dribbles when trying to execute a simple between the legs cross (yes I am flicking towards non-ball hand) on PS4. Not sure if it's a controller issue as I do seem to get some random dribble animations when i try to chain moves.
not sure if this is the same issue you are having, but on PC I noticed similar issues and ran a test on my stick inputs and saw it was registering ghost inputs on the left stick, switching controllers fixed some issues for me, especially with ball moves on guards.
This may be because you are running out of Adrenaline
@@saadsalman2261 I don't dribble enough to run out of adrenaline. I will say, it could be something with the dribble style as it's usually right after i receive the inbounds and start walking the ball up. I also hate when I go to do a move and my player switches ball hands just before. So many bump TOs from that.
@@GPan99 you don’t even be have to dribbling it’s literally anytime you hold R2 a lot and also when you try giving for steals also things like that even when you are off balling
@@GPan99 you can lose adrenaline by simply going left to right. You have to dribble in place

Why does the x button pop up while doing dribble moves? It comes up like I’m getting a contact dunk
The animations are bugy, in online the gameplay is so freaking laggy and slow. Also when you have delay your AI players acting like drunks.
No it's not. Your ball handling is low or you are not using a good dribble package that you find smooth. I have PG with 92 ball handle so I get the top packages and it's smooth af my SG has a lower ball handle I had to use differnt packages to find what felt good to me.

I can’t seem to chain my dribble moves even though I have 89 Ball Handle.. when I do the “Behind the Back” my player doesn’t continue running, he stops for a moment, letting the defender guard me again.
What are the controller settings you have on ?
Are you holding turbo when you cross over or just flicking up on the right and moving the left ?
You Can Do It Holding Turbo Or Without
Turbo is at ur discretion r2 just gives a more aggressive cross but beware r2 used wrong bye bye adrenaline

Playing franchise mode, beating the computer on pro 101-86, pretty realistic score, not a blowout by any means, A team was down 41 on me the other day and took the lead by 2, I won in the end though, bt yeah the comp will go on crazy hot & cold streaks! Anyways, I'm playing in franchise and in my game 11:45 to go in the 4th qtr, the give away Player of The Game to freaking Mitchell Robinson! The 4th qtr is still being played wtf! Game aint over! They can come back & win l, then the POTG would have to be on the other team! Besides, Robinson doesn't even have my best stat line, that would be Randle with 18-10-4- 1 blk, Robinson 18-9-1-1blk. See what I mean?

this is the same problem I have. I am assuming the pro stick is set to dribble only? I tried this and it def makes dribbling more consistent but I can't imagine everyone sets it to dribble only..

UNLESS BOOTS is ONLY allowed to fight in SHOWTIME its a DUCK. If n only if, then it's a duck. Personally, I think it was a BAD move. You get the Bud fight and win. Now ESJ is coming for you.
