Nba2k23 is a good game but vc inflation is real. Maxing out 1 build cost over 400k, from a casual players perspective its too much.

Another Tip, you can use the Gatorade courts to learn your jumpshot since those courts have latency delay like in park/rec

They definetly need to fix the resetting the animations every game. I hate having to turn my shot meter off everytime i play, it sucks but id rather turn it off everygame then to not

I change the release to early. Made a bigger difference and the release is much quicker imo.

Thanks bro! I didn’t play my career because I couldn’t make a shot to save my life but I play my team a lot and I was wondering why I could never make a shot. Once I started watching their hands it works tremendous for me.
Even if I get a catch of dribble or do a step back I still remember how I should release my jump shot. I just do muscle memory for different ways my jump shot will shoot like a fadeaway or a stationary shot.(meter off)
Biggest change you can make is changing that memory to visual cue. The change of speed in your jumpshot is crazy this year and you really need to just focus on your release

@@David1989. im not sure boss I'll check when im home. I don't use the shot meter or the release that lets you know early, excellent or late. I just hit it right when they snap their wrist once you learn that you can play with any character at any level.
@@David1989. i just checked and it late release but with the meter off it doesn't matter. People like ja morant and steph curry has s quick release and people like Donovan Mitchell and Jimmy Butler has more of a late release if that makes sense.

I don't like 2k22 it's hard to damn shoot I rock with 2k21
Beat thing to do is go make your jump shot then go practice shooting releasing it. The game tells you if your release is early late etc. if your releasing it and almost greening it every time and it says late then you need to change your settings to early if it says early release when your shooting and it’s not greening change it to late and make sure to release it the same. This way it adjust for how your releasing it and you don’t change anything but the setting. I did this and went from shooting 5 out of 10 shots green to greening 12 in a row and hardly miss at all. My 3% is at 70%+ in the park since the change.

I feel like ppl like this but it’s pretty dumb if you ask me lol the jump shot is always the same it’s solely based on your release… but the release should have something to do w the jump shot in my opinion… kind of like you know basketball
Find a jumper that gives you a good que to release. I watch the hands then practice practice practice. Also the speeds he was talking about early or late if you’re struggling try all of them. I tried very late because late was working but I didn’t feel as consistent as I wanted went to very late and I feel I’m more consistent now. You just have to put the time in. I spent 4 hrs trying different combos until I found something I liked I found one that has release height at A- , release speed at C+, defense effect at A and timing effect A. I could’ve spent a lot more building a jumper but I didn’t feel I needed to. Oh and I don’t shoot with a quicker release because I don’t take bad shots so I don’t need to have a quick release to get my shot off. Figure out your style of play and get to work trying to build one that will work for you.
Yep!!! They keep changing my animations... It's a pain in the ass!!! They've also done something to the shooting in the last 3 days. I went from being able to shoot to shooting airballs in park. I had to find a whole new jumper

I’m shooting 53 percent from 3 in rec there’s games where I go 4/5, some games I’m 1/3 or maybe even 2/3. My best one ever was 8/11

I really don't know how you can pick whether early or late or very late is better until you know your jumpshot. If it's ridiculously fast without a visual cue then very late works great, if it's a slower one that you know well (like Durant) very early works great great. I couldn't settle on an option there until I picked a shot and then tried all 4 options out
Kd on early has been good for me but I also use kd every year and all his pull ups....his jump shot has a big green window I green with it even green contested shots ...

I look at the hands, when it goes to the forehead I know to release and that’s usually a green for me! 🙏🏽 (no shot meter on either)
Still getting used to it tho as I can’t use my normal jumpshot from all other 2k’s as my mid and three doesn’t go to 87, only 79. Lol

For me: With a meter: late
Without meter: wrist, it's a habit I had to change because most of the jumpshots I use in this game don't jump as high.
Anyone noticed 2k updated some of the players. The bucks players alone got updated. Giannis went from 6'11 to 7'0 Jrue holiday went from 6'3 to 6'5. Brook Lopez went from 7'0 to 7'1. Bobby portis went from 6'9 to 6'11 The George Hill went from 6'4🤦🏾♂️

The animations being reset is when you close the app ! Actually quit the game before closing app and you should be all good
most of the time its from crashing tho so kinda screwed that way
Nope cause I’ve actually quit the game and closed the app and when I come back my shot timing is reset and my shot meter is back on. It’s been a consistent thing in 2k for years now and idk why they just won’t f’n fix it. No matter what you do you have to go in and change it before you start your first game because 9 out of 10 times it’s been reset.
Jumpshot boosts are definitely worth it but not like 21 and 22. In 21 it was basically impossible to shoot without them and in 22 they helped a lot. But for me personally, I have been shooting around 50 percent without them and around 55-60 with them, so if you dont have the vc dont stress it just try to learn your jumpshot and you should be mostly good.
Noticed this as well very true, only a slight boost this year
you guys must have a high 3 ball or got the timing down really well. i got an 83 a sleeve +1 and the jumpshot boosts and the game i ran out without noticing i shot 2/14 in a 1s match, being left open the entire time
and no i’m not just bad i’ve had games i shot 100% from 3 shooting more then 4 shots from the line

The issue is even the perfect green shot doesnt go in. It bounces off the green back down, the meter NEVER goes into the green. I made a 99 overall players in every category. Went 0 for 18 from 3, nice game.

Focus on the player shooting motion UNTIL THE VERY END (almost till it lands). Focusing on the ball or meter is very timing base and makes it very inconsistent

This is great advice.. But I developed a bad habit by looking at the meter and it's hard to break. But, when I was best at shooting I had my eyes on the player.
What u mean by motion until the very end? I focus on ball releas hand . Why would that be inconsistent
@@David1989. Meaning even after the ball has been released, keep your eyes on the shooting motion (not the ball) until the player almost lands. Your brain needs to fully understand the timing from the start till the very end.

I took my meter off in the Rec for the first time last night. I could shoot with it on, but damn is it waaaay better with it off. I could actually focus on my guy instead of the meter, its way easier to look for visual cues.
Idk who needs to hear this but if you’re on the spot or wanna change your badges right after a dub just click the ps home button and it’ll pull up the badge menu
The differences in shot timing are wild. I can green perfectly fine with my MyPlayer, but I was playing Play Now against a friend and kept getting Early releases even when holding the shoot button for a good 3 seconds 💀

nah ik wasent tripping i missed 4 shots in mc on all star across several games went to rec first game shot was sorta awkward but still hitting the next 4 games i stg everything was early even when bro was on the way down, went back to mc shit green its drastically different.

As of now, the issue with animations being reset is not fixed.
Also, this iteration is frustrating because you hit shots that are clearly within the green area and the shot inexplicably misses. I've had this happen multiple times. The shot is at the right release point in animation and the shot meter is firmly in the green on a basic, catch-and-shoot three. Yet the shot misses. Not sure if this is lag maybe or not, but it happens in MyCareer NBA games, so I don't think it is.
I'm so glad you said this I've had the exact same issue I'll have the green in the shot meter completely covered and it's always slightly early or slightly late and it sucks so much

I think mine was on very late by default. Instinctively, I play fast, so maybe having it like that is counter-intuitive.. imagine trying to make a clutch shot and you get open for a split second but you gotta hold the button longer.. doesnt make much sense.. I think il mess around with the settings later.
I dont play park but Team up shooting is so much better. Maybe its me upgrading to a next gen console this year, I dont know. No more missing layups. They could almost nerf it a little on 3s and it still be realistic. The last 3 2ks I literally could not hit anything at all because of the delay when you press buttons. The only delay I have now is if I try to steal.

Pretty sure the animation reset happens whenever you go into the builder (ie looking to make a new build). No idea why, but the reset happens to me every time after I’ve gone into that builder.
I like watching the hands when it comes to release as well. My favorite JS animation is Michael Jordan’s JS, it’s fluid and natural. I use it all the time

I used to use Larry Bird's all the time (if felt right to me), but this year, my mid range is 80 Max and Bird needs an 83 mid. So, Im using Jordan's.
VC is high when considering you have to buy so much for it to be beneficial. I've played My career and do quests more than ever...
I'm a comp player but think They should have an online casual game mode where you don't necessarily have to have comp builds to play and have fun.

the issue is there is a lag in park and rec...so u can practice as much as u want on your court...when u hit rec, the timing will be off

Im in love with the shooting this year. You can still make tough shots, limitless and step back 3’s with greens. But also miss open shots since its mistimed.
Especially with the delayed green lights, every shot has suspense behind it which makes the game way more entertaining

nah not boosters just skill gaps now, now those early's slight lates slightly earlys lates are not going in unless it's a green.
The Jump Shot Release timing makes it where you can match where you want to release the button within the animation of your jumper (the cue you want to release at).
On my jump shot, the que for release at the height of the jumper is late and as soon as the ball is over the head is early (Very late is the flick in the wrist).
It doesn’t make the jump shot itself slower or faster but it does make reaction slower or faster (if that makes sense).
