I enjoy history and historical relics and really enjoy the civil war. From NY and have been to Gettysburg probably 30 or more times and currently have been taking my kids each summer. One of my favorite places to visit. Recently began metal detecting and would love nothing more than to dig civil war relics from the grounds of arguably the biggest battle of the war. Great video!
Wow how insane it is to dig everyone of those bullets and try to envision what the last person that touched them was going through. You guys get some really awesome permissions and find such amazing pieces of history. We really love watching your videos! Good luck on the next hunt, from Jim and Mason! Our JP Restorations shirts have been brining us tons of luck lately!
It is sickening to see detectorists today digging huge big plugs just to extract a tiny item. That is not the proper way to dig and is disrespectful to the owner. And its a good way of getting kicked out and ruining it for other hunters that know how to dig. I've been detecting for 45 years and I use a Lesche digger and dig a small semicircle and fold it back like a trap door leaving roots intact on one side. And I can retrieve an item in a matter of seconds. Only rookies use big shovels digging big round plugs. We are supposed to be goodwill ambassadors to the hobby.
You should’ve saw the dig holes the property owner was making while he was out there detecting with us. If the property owner was out digging with us and he was ok with the dig holes we all made together I think we are ok but thanks for the concern. God bless.
It should not matter the size of the plug if you have a lesche. The roots will grow back just fine if you dig a plug properly. Ask ANY turf management specialist. ✌

tombac buttons are dated to 1760's-1810's and King George copper coins are from the 1700's.
