I am a Union Sheet Metal Worker of over 40 years. Your Mystery Find is a tool of my trade. It is an old soldering iron. The head is heated by an external heat source. The heads were typically large like that so that they would retain heat longer. Very nice find!
Once again, more weird stuff showing up in odd places! For some reason, that cap gun creeped me out.---I loved that photo of the woman walking with her fancy clothes, wearing gloves & pushing that interesting baby buggy & pulling the dog along!
Thanks as always Ezra and really glad you enjoyed watching this one. A smorgasbord of cool and interesting things coming out of the ground. haha ATB Greg
I found an open sash buckle a few years ago. The back had those bands on the back like the one you found. Mine still had a piece of leather still on the backside. You had a great hunt there. Some rain would definitely help. I feel like there is much more there to find. LL
Great hunt Greg! You should be able to make several episodes from this permission. That mystery find is a soldering iron. I used one a lot when I was doing sheet metal work. Soldering gutters and drip pans.
Thanks for the help with that and for watching Billy! Much appreciated. I hope I can make a lot of episodes from this place! Takes some of the pressure off. ATB Greg
Love your video s Thanks for sharing ♥️♥️♥️♥️👍⚒️🇺🇸🗝️ we.havent had any rain for a.while either plus I had surgery on my right leg so I can't metal detecting so I'm going stir crazy see you next week ♥️👍🗝️♥️
Thanks so much Mary Kay and so sorry to hear about your leg. I would be going nuts too. Hope it heals well and rapidly so you can get back out there. In the meantime, I will do my best to find a lot for you to watch! :) ATB Greg
Thanks so much D and it is so nice to be back. Hopefully, I can keep chipping my way down to the finds until we got some rain. Really appreciate you watching each week! ATB Greg
Definitely a soldering iron,l have my Dad's hanging up down stairs in my furnace room. The top third would have had the wooden handle. The plumbing piece was a tub/shower valve. The middle knob was the diverter valve. Great video, hopefully the rains will come ,but maybe not all at once.
Really enjoy your videos, when the grounds hard and you can't dig l scroll back to some older posts so l can get my finding America fix. Appreciate your dedication and the quality of your output. Look forward to your next adventure.
Thanks 👍 Bob and I have a feeling some very cool things are going to come out of that place. Really appreciate you watching this one and take care! ATB Greg
Glad you'll be getting out Rick. I know those Arizona winters are awesome to hunt in. Glad you enjoyed this one and thanks for watching each week! Take care and ATB Greg
Haven't had a new permission in long time, I'm still hitting my old ones, that I still on occasion find something worth while that I missed, there's nothing like that new permission anticipation! I'm about ten hours to late for the soldering iron mystery item, Have fun at your new sight, you've got a lot of ground to cover! Cheers Mate!
Thanks Wayne and you're right, there is nothing better than having a new permission. I do love the challenge of hitting my hard hits spots too. ATB Greg
Another nice hunt. Spent almost the entire day at the beach. Only 6 quarters and six dimes, plus the usual pennies. But I found 15 nickels. Love how the 10X5 and the 900 can hunt them out in a sea of pulltabs and bottlecaps.
My mom used to work at Nichols Industry pistol factory. The factory made toy cap pistols. She bought me some when I was a little kid. She was there in the 60's. You can find the history of their cap guns on line.
Very cool and I believe I have found one Nichols brand cap gun in the past. Appreciate you watching this one and glad it brought back some memories for you. ATB Greg
Probably too late, but your mystery item is an old soldering iron. What a cool relic hunt this week. Well done. Greg. Looking forward to rain and future trips back there. 👍
I always enjoy your videos, Greg. Finding old rabies tags is fun. I have found several and usually donate them to the local associated historical society, as they take them happily, especially the really old ones.
Greg once again another entertaining video thank you. Mystery object first glance, thought it was a poker used in fires, the i saw the number on it, could it be some kind of soldering iron. Regards to brother Chris & to your good self. 😊
Thanks David and I think it will clean up nicely. That's what I call a very nice bonus find! :) Thanks for the help with that and for watching! Much appreciated. ATB Greg
Rain would really make life a little easier for you right now Gregg, lol, that looked like hard work my friend ? Worth it though with many varied finds,i really liked the sash buckle (my favorite piece from this haul) but a lot of interesting stuff overall, cant wait to see more ? But for your sake i hope it rains, haha🏴🤞
I don't film those but there were lots of memorials and clad but not one old coin yet. Old relics and high tones everywhere but no old coins. They have to be out there somewhere but I am completely happy finding the cool relics. :) ATB Greg
