Thank you Alan for this. I've watched this several times and am touched more each time. Lisa Brown truely was a one of a kind lady. I wish I could have really gotten to know.
I wish we had a Michael Tylo/Lisa Brown chat. That's never going to happen but it would have been great to see them together again. Thanks for the tribute to Lisa. I hope she knows how much she is loved and missed.
Thank you for this beautiful tribute to soap and stage star Lisa Brown by her co-workers. Lisa was one of the first "stars" I met after moving to New York in 1986 when I was just 18 years old. We had a very strange and hilarious encounter in an elevator at CBS Broadcast Center. I had been a fan of Lisa's work from "Guiding Light" from the time I was 13 years old, and it was wonderful to meet her in person. Lisa is the only actor I ever knew who actually got a fan letter from the great Bette Davis. She was just that damn good. Miss you, Lisa. You'll always be a star in my story.
The combination of Lisa, Mr. Marland, Martha and William is one that can’t be topped. It’s heartwarming and surreal to see Lily and Josh share their memories, 35 years later. Thank you for hosting this, Alan.
I SO enjoyed her work on Guiding Light as Nola and later as Iva Snyder on ATWT. This is SO sad. She brought SO much joy to me and my family when I was growing up. Rest in peace, Lisa Brown. A job WELL DONE.
Oh, Alan thank you for letting us see some of our favorite scenes with Maeve & Lisa Brown. I was big & pregnant with my daughter while watching Guiding Light with my mother-in-law & her mother! Three generations watching together! My daughter is grown with babes of her own & she loves hearing about the 3 generations watching Guiding Light! God Bless you, all the actors & a special prayer for our Sweet Lisa Brown!🙏🏻 We miss you.❤️
I remember Lisa from her first appearances when incognito Roger Thorpe stayed at the Reardon Boarding House. There was something so riveting about her performances. I remember reading an interview where Lisa said that Rita Lloyd impressed her so much as Lucille Wexler on GL. She was of the same cloth - with a touch of the old school movie star and yet salt of the earth at the same time. Maeve and Martha’s memories were heartfelt and nice to hear. Taking me back to a time that I felt like these characters were like friends, thanks to the talented creators who brought Springfield and Oakdale to life in the 80s. Thanks Alan - this was so very special.
Phenomenal episode, truly a lovely tribute to one of daytimes most incredibly talented actresses . She touched her costar lives as well as her fan base she’ll never be forgotten for her contributions .
Absolutely beautiful, beautiful tribute to Lisa Brown. What a talent she had !! Such a force of nature. Thank-you so much Alan. You really made sure Lisa got the recognition and love she so richly deserved. SPECTACULAR!
September 28, 2021 Michael Tylo ~ deceased ~ Lisa Brown November 24 , 2021. Rest in Peace. Shocking on every level and grateful for magnificent work left for all their fans to relive and cherish. Thank You Alan.
Thank you so much for this tribute. I remember being a young teen and thinking how Nola could be so manipulative and coniving and wishing she was gone for good. And within one year I could not get home from school fast enough to catch every second of my all time favorite heroine. I was not the only one either. I think what was so captivating about Nola was the fact that she was just the girl from wrong side of the tracks who would do anything she had to get to a better place but it was when she became herself that her life changed. Just by changing her life around she found the love of her life, the adventure she sought and the love and respect of others. In that she taught us all that anything is possible. Lisa Brown was a gem. And I am thankful I followed her zany, crazy, lovable characters in my youth and yes even now on Youitube I sttill take a peek now and then. RIP Lisa you are so missed
@@TheLocherRoom do you know if anyone can answer if the character of Quinton was created speciically as a love interest for Nola or did that develop as his storyline went on? A friend of mine who was also a huge Quola fan said he was never intended to be her love interest. He was created for some Alan Spaulding storyline and Nola was there as comic relief for his serious storyline but when Marland discovered their intense chemistry he changed the entire story. I am elated that John joined the conversation. The moment he spoke of when their characters relationship reached its peak and exploded, is emblazoned in my memory. She captured that angst and desperation of youth that so many go through in what they imagine is what they believe love is. I can hear her voice calling out to Kelly through tears, to this day. She was brilliant in everything that I ever saw her in. I'm so glad that I was able to witness her genius, brilliance, talent and explosive personality. Lisa, you are missed. I know that you mentored so many young actors throughout your career. Your gift, guidance and talent will love on through them. Martha, I see you. I know how heartbreaking this is for you. Know that she looks upon you with great pride and love and that will never fade.
Agreed I love how he describes the scene… took me back to my youth that summer as a girl watching it. I loved Nola and remember developing empathy at the end of the scene. I was also a kid who was picked on and couldn’t make friends easily so in that moment this 8 year old girl cried with her.
Alan, thank you for this tribute to Lisa. My favorite memory of her was when she was Nola on GL. She did well on ATWT, but Nola was one of my favorite soap characters. Just like John Wesley had said, Lisa turned that character around to be one of the best (in my opinion). And yes, I remember the dialogue between Kelly and Nola. Fantastic!! I also enjoyed the character interaction between Vanessa and Nola. Those two were very funny. Rest in peace, Lisa. You will be missed.
This was great, Alan! Thank you so much for this tribute. Lisa was the best. It was great to see JWS finally make an appearance, and I always love to see Maeve!
Thanks Alan for this wonderful tribute to such a special person and actress. I loved Lisa as Nola from the first day I ever saw her on GL and it was great to hear the stories from her fellow co-stars/friends. She was loved and always will be.

I got a little teary eyed at the end when Martha got emotional.
I am so so glad that you have included Lisa with this tribute to her. I was glued to my tv screen with Lisa on As The World Turns. What a skilled actress, what a personality she brought to Iva Snyder. And I loved her relationship with Kirk Anderson and how it fell apart. I loved her relationship with Lily and also with Lucinda, as the two mothers to Lily.
What a phenomenal walk back down memory lane! One days soon, I hope that you can do a show on the GL teens that Douglass Marland introduced in the 80s. If this show is any indication, there is certainly an audience for it!😁
I totally agree! GL was on fire back then and one of the reasons I started watching. Unforgettable storylines. Had Jane Elliot not been fired this show would have beaten GH in the ratings. That fateful move ended Classic GL. What could have been.....
I can't believe how many are gone from Guiding Light- I stumbled upon this last week, and it's so devastating. I had the pleasure of seeing Lisa Brown in 42nd Street, and she was absolutely phenomenal. So much talent gone way too soon.

Thanks for the lovely tribute to the one and only Lisa Brown and was shocked when I saw that Jerry Ver Dorn had passed, for me he will always be "Ross Marler" on Guiding Light and the passing of Kathryn Hayes, forever "Kim Hughes" on As The World Turns..
This was amazing. Sorry I missed the live. I'm sitting here late at night, crying and sipping a glass of wine. I remember when the character of Nola started on Guiding Light. She was a firecracker and one of my all time favorites. I especially loved her daydreams. I was heartbroken when she left the show, but was elated when she joined ATWT and looked forward to the times she returned to GL. In the 1990's I attended a taping of the Joan Rivers show which was taped in the same studio as ATWT and Geraldo, with my brother. As we waited in line, my brother gasped. He holds my shoulders and looked me dead in the eye. He said, "I'm going to turn you around, but don't scream, whatever you do, don't scream." As I turn around there is Lisa and Geraldo helping an elderly lady in the line to go and sit down. It turned out to be Lily Tomlins mom who was on Joan Rivers that day. She returned to walk past me, and I guess caught me gazing at her in awe. (Of course, she had been a part of my life for decades.) She said something like, "You look like you've seen an old friend." I laughed and said, " yes two of them in one person. " She laughed and shook my hand and thanked me. I remember calling and telling my sister (on a pay phone) who was just as big of a fan and she screamed for me. I will NEVER forget that moment.
Alan, this was such a wonderful tribute, my eyes welled up one minute and then I was laughing the next. It was so nice seeing those that were close to Lisa. ❤
Thanks so much for doing this I was 17 to 18 watching the Nola/Kelly/Morgan story and screaming at Nola every other day, then fell in love with her when Kelly found out the truth and she broke down, she played it so well! Then her playing Iva on ATWT was just brilliant there as well. I cried every time Martha cried cause I can see ho much Lisa meant to her. She was an excellent actress and wished I had seen her in other things.
Finally was able to view the entire tribute! Wow is all I can say! So many wonderful memories. I was in high school when the Kelly/Nola story exploded and it was fantastic. Everyone always talks about General Hospital, but GL had I think an even larger fan base. So great to hear of the wonderful memories from her body of work. Lisa Brown deserved every award ever bestowed on a human being. She was THAT GOOD. God Bless her and family, as well as friends and fans who mourn and celebrate her incredible life.
Oh so good to see JWS and Martha Byrne! I will NEVER EVER forget Lisa Brown and her impact on GL and ATWT. Her portrayal of Nola and Iva were outstanding! Scenes such as Nola with Vanessa, Kelly, and the Reardon clan was so good. Iva's stories with Lily and Josh are classics! When I was watching the finals episode of GL, I must have jumped 5 feet in the air when I saw Lisa Brown as Nola for the last time. Even then, her charisma stole the scene! This was an outstanding tribute. Thank you, Michael!
Lisa has always been a favorite of mine Nola was one of my favorite soap characters ever!! Then when Lisa came to oakdale I was so confused as a kid lol
This tribute to Lisa Brown was so beautifully done. I'd love to see a beautiful tribute to Kathryn Hays and Jerry ver Dorn. I'd also love to see a Douglas Marland tribute since his birthday is in May. Alan this was a great tribute to a great actress who played two unforgettable characters Nola Reardon Chamberlain and Iva Snyder Benedict both written by Douglas Marland aka my favorite soap writer (who's work is a muse for my own writing). It's so good to hear these stories from her costars and producer Michael Laibson and writer Patrick Mulcahey.
Lisa Brown was special! ❤Guiding Light and ATWT... with Douglas Marland writing for her most famous characters. And the pairing of her w/Michael Tylo was incredible and fantastic!!! I hope you can do a tribute to Michael Tylo and Jerry Ver Dorn. I've been rewatching GL this summer.
This was every bit the tribute that I had hoped for. And I loved the clips at the end. I was probably 11 or 12 when I first saw Nola. Those were the best years of GL in my opinion. Thank you for this one.
Thanks Locher Rm n Daytime Soap star guests for your "embracing" Tribute to Daytime Soap Opera star Actress Lisa Brown. She brought zest n life into all her iconic Role(s) from GL to ATWT. Love her in Guiding Light (Nola n Quint forever) where I first saw her unforgettable magic on Daytime Tv.-💫
Alan that was a beautiful tribute to a remarkable lady. Martha in particular broke my heart. I am now running late for a dinner party and will have to lie to my friends and say my eyes are puffy because of allergies!

I CRIED THROUGHOUT THIS SHOW GONE TOO SOON LISA👀👀👀👀HOWEVER IT'S SUCH A WONDERFUL FEELING TO CRY FROM A WONDERFUL ACTRESS THAT TOUCHED MY LIFE FROM A SOAP OPERA 2 SOAP OPERAS!! I FEEL SORRY THAT IN A MODERN DAY WORLD PEOPLE WILL NOT UNDERSTAND HOW INVOLVED ONE CAN GET WITH SOAP OPERAS!! Wonderful tribute to the great, Lisa Brown. Please do a tribute for the late Jerry VerDorn, who was so beloved in the daytime community. RIP Lisa, Jerry, and Kathryn Hays.
Lisa worked with so many wonderful people on both GL and ATWT, which would’ve made it impossible to have everyone on that she ever crossed paths with. While this was a great group of people, I kind of was hoping that the Reardon family would be represented, preferably, Ellen Dolan and Greg Beecroft. Lori Shelle, who played Gracie, Nola’s best friend. I thought maybe Tom Nielsen, Marsha Clark, Denise Pence, Kristen Vigard. The list is endless of who could have participated. Kathleen Widdows, the Snyder clan. Larry Brygmann. 😔😔
First of all, I can't believe you got William Fichtner. Every time I see him in a movie I always think about As the World Turns. But also, I remember Lisa Brown best as Iva Snyder, a member of that large Snyder family and as Lily's biological mother. I mean, geez, Alan says he started this because he missed his GL and ATWT families. As a viewer, watching them day in and day out. They really feel like that sometimes.
Now I see Jerry Ver Dorn has passed. What is going on with our daytime family. Another gem. I had hoped we could have Jerry and Jane Elliot talk about their run together as Ross and Carrie Marler
@@TheLocherRoom Thanks Alan, it’s so sad watching everyone pass away. I hope the actors know how much they are loved by the fans. They really are family and have had an impact on our lives.
I am so glad to have found this and shocked at the loss of Jerry Ver Dorn as well. I hadn't heard . Thank you for honoring Lisa. Very well done,as always.
I first became aware of the fabulous Lisa Brown on Guiding Light we're also became aware of Maeve Kincaid and Anna Stewart who was filling in for Maeve Kincaid butI didn't know it at the time I digress , getting back to Lisa Brown it was so nice to hear her co-stars saying such wonderful things about her I enjoyed her work very much on both As the World Turns and Guiding Light.
@@TheLocherRoom I really liked Hillary Bauer a chance that you get her to be on one of your shows? I think the actress that portrayed her was Marcia Clark. Those are some good days on The Guiding Light. The Riordan's and the Bauers
As for Ivy Snyder she was trying so hard to fit in. But she was likeable unlike Nola at first. Same scenario Bea Reardon and Emma Snyder both her mothers on Guiding Light and AS the World Turns. Loved both of those actresses. They had a child they couldn't control at times because she was her own person.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!LISA in my opinion will always be NOLA!!!!!!!THE BEST!!!!Btw would luv to see a Reardons reunion talking about LISA BROWN with Ellen Dolan,Lee Lawson,Gregory Beecroft,Michael Woods and the actress who played Nola's best friend i believe her characters name was Gracie.that would be amazing
Oh Alan I was so glad to see all of Lisa Brown's(Nola Reardon, Guiding Light, Ivy Snyder, AS the World Turns), R.I.P. Everything all her peers said was true in her acting and her real life! She had a tell like it is personality!!! But Patrick was right she took Nola on a real Rollercoaster ride she was trying to get to a point of realizing her dreams! Unfortunately Nola was too jealous of Morgan and ruined Kelly and Morgan and it ended up with Kelly telling Nola that he's going to get Morgan back. That was the turnaround for Nola. His writing and her acting was pure magic! Nola met can you believe it Vanessa's(Maeve Kinkead) brother Quint Chamberlain( Michael Tylo)!!!! They fell in love but Vanessa and Nola got along. I think she was her matron of honor but can't quite remember! Thank you Patrick who brought Lisa Brown from a loathed to a beloved character!!!!! All actors are some of my favorites since AS the World Turns and Guiding Light my 2 favorite soaps plus Y&R now is!!!!
Always liked John Wesley Shipp. What is he doing now? What was the cause of Lisa's death? Why was she fired? Such a pretty lady. I remember watching her on the soap!!
@@Dee-wr5si so sad. Life has strange reasons for. Calling us home. When my dad died, my mom said it was his time. He was in his '80s. Mom died 8 years after. They were married 61 years, and were the very BEST. I have had several health issues, and my thanks to God. I hope he wants to keep me alive and healthy several more years. Many years ago I met 2 characters from GL..
We lost another GL alum with the passing of Lee Lawson, Bea Reardon,. she was great as the matriarch of the Reardon clan. RIP Lee, say hello to your onscreen daughter Lisa (Nola). Keep her in line like you use to!😉
Alan, Do you know if they going to do a tribute at the daytime emmys? Guiding Light lost so many in the past year. I hope they honor Lisa, she really deserved an emmy.
I loved Lisa, she was just so amazing❣ Does anyone know exactly what happened to her.......what is the story behind her sudden death⁉️ Martha eluded to it. WHAT HAPPENED ⁉️🥺😭
Nola was my all time favorite on GL,and probably the odd person out here, but I loved Kelly and Nola together, not that they were a couple. She was the poor girl from the wrong side of the tracks and Kelly was this young handsome up coming doctor. I never like Kelly and Morgan together, she was to wishy-washy for me. I like a girl with spunk and that was Nola.

I hated her at first too. How dare she scheme to break up Kelly & Morgan! That hussey!
Thankyou so much for this lovely tribute. She was an important part of my teen years.
You're so welcome, Mary. Thank you for tuning-in.
This was a beautiful tribute to Lisa Brown! She was a wonderful and unforgettable actress! May she Rest In Peace.
Thank you, Brenda! I appreciate it.
Thank you for watching, Brenda. I'm so happy you enjoyed it.
Thank you so very much, Tom! I appreciate the message.
Thank you to all involved!
You bet, Kelly!
Alan, you are such a good host! You have a genuine warmth and appreciation for people and what you do!
Thanks so much for those sweet words. I really appreciate you taking the time to send me this note.
@@TheLocherRoom you are very welcome 😊
Thanks for this amazing tribute ❤
You bet, Farhana!
I think you meant, Alan, but no worries. You're so very welcome, Joey! I'm glad you enjoyed this.
@@TheLocherRoom Ugh, yes, ALAN. Please accept my apologies.
A tear-jerker; thank you
You're very welcome. Thanks for tuning-in.
Lisa has always been a favorite of mine Nola was one of my favorite soap characters ever!! Then when Lisa came to oakdale I was so confused as a kid lol
That's great, Shaq. Loved reading this.
Thank you very much, Cat. I appreciate you tuning in.
This was such a great tribute to Lisa she was respected and loved by so many thank you
You are very welcome, Sharon!
🩵She was a rare talent.🩵
This was every bit the tribute that I had hoped for. And I loved the clips at the end. I was probably 11 or 12 when I first saw Nola. Those were the best years of GL in my opinion. Thank you for this one.
You're so welcome, Laura. I'm so glad.
You're so welcome, Sharon! Thanks for watching.
I was a huge fan of hers she made her characters seem so real
Agreed, Quincy!
Thank you Alan for a well crafted tribute! very emotional & touching. Lisa was the best! RIP
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Luis. Thank you for tuning-in.
Alan that was a beautiful tribute to a remarkable lady. Martha in particular broke my heart. I am now running late for a dinner party and will have to lie to my friends and say my eyes are puffy because of allergies!
Awwww - - Everett. Thank you for sharing.
HI ALAN I'M HONORED THAT LISA BROWN TOUCHED MY LIFE TWICE AS THE WORLD TURNS & GUIDING LIGHT!! YOU'RE A MENCH FOR DOING TODAYS HONOR NOW I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO A KATHRYN HAYES FYI KIM HUGHES HONOR SHOW!! I KNOW YOU'LL DO IT ALAN ! TAKE CARE SIR🤗🤗💜
💗💜💗💜💗💜💗💜💗💜💗💜💗💜💗💜💗💜💗💜
Thanks so very much, Vicki. Glad you enjoyed the tribute.
Loved Nola and Quint
We all did, Diane!
Wonderful tribute to the great, Lisa Brown. Please do a tribute for the late Jerry VerDorn, who was so beloved in the daytime community. RIP Lisa, Jerry, and Kathryn Hays.
I hope to do one for both. Thank you so very much, Kris!
No words, just ❤
Thanks my friend! 💜
I feel so bad for Martha. ❤
💔🙏💔
That would have been awesome!
One day, perhaps!
Thanks so much!
😍
😍
She will be missed. I loved Lisa Brown
We all did, Penny! Thanks for watching.
That's right, Tristy! They really do feel like that.
I loved your montage at the end. I am going to rewatch the whole episode again. It was packed with so many wonderful remembrances. Thank you Alan.
Thank you, Maybeth! So glad you enjoyed it.
Definitely
Now I see Jerry Ver Dorn has passed. What is going on with our daytime family. Another gem. I had hoped we could have Jerry and Jane Elliot talk about their run together as Ross and Carrie Marler
Thank you, Tom! I so appreciate your note.
You're very welcome, Louann. Thanks for letting me know.
Maeve's one message regarding the dresses reminds me of the Lucy/Ethel episode🙂
Right? They were so on fire in that episode (Vanessa & Nola).
Thanks for the note, Terry. So glad to you enjoyed the tribute.
Loved her as Nola.
😍😍
@@TheLocherRoom I really liked Hillary Bauer a chance that you get her to be on one of your shows? I think the actress that portrayed her was Marcia Clark. Those are some good days on The Guiding Light. The Riordan's and the Bauers
This was so wonderful, I watched it again.
Oh thank you so very much. I appreciate that.
thank you!! i've been waiting to watch this video. i did forever long i would in perpetuity have a viewing relationship to this woman . . .
Glad to hear that. I hope you enjoyed it.
Wow Allan I did not know what Lisa Brown die it so sad she was a great actress
It's a big loss, Tony. Thanks for watching.
I just saw Martha from two years ago talking about conversing with Lisa Brown..And hearing that she's passed is heartbreaking 😥😭
😢
Aww. I loved Lisa Brown. She was one of my absolute favorites. Such a very distinctive acting style.
That's for sure, Paul!
I'm glad you enjoyed this. Thank you so very much.
Peace wow love
🙏🙏
I'm so glad you enjoyed this, Missy.
Always liked John Wesley Shipp. What is he doing now? What was the cause of Lisa's death? Why was she fired? Such a pretty lady. I remember watching her on the soap!!
John works all the time. Check out his IMDB. Thanks for watching, Maddy.
@@TheLocherRoom I did not receive the answers yo my questions (except about JWS). Always enjoy your program.
@@maddyhayes617 I had heard she had cancer and I don't know why she was fired, I was confused about that one back then since Nola was so popular.
@@TheLocherRoom you r always welcome
I only watch Yand R now
We lost another GL alum with the passing of Lee Lawson, Bea Reardon,. she was great as the matriarch of the Reardon clan. RIP Lee, say hello to your onscreen daughter Lisa (Nola). Keep her in line like you use to!😉
💔🙏💔
Cool soaptowatch
😍
Sweet dreams
🙏🙏
Alan, Do you know if they going to do a tribute at the daytime emmys? Guiding Light lost so many in the past year. I hope they honor Lisa, she really deserved an emmy.
I sure hope so, Dana. I do not know if they are.
What happened to Lisa? Loved her as Nohla !
She died of cancer. 😢
I loved Lisa, she was just so amazing❣ Does anyone know exactly what happened to her.......what is the story behind her sudden death⁉️ Martha eluded to it. WHAT HAPPENED ⁉️🥺😭
She had cancer and it happened very fast.
Could you possibly put together a tribute to Kathryn Hayes.?
Hi Randy -- I will look to do that down the road. She absolutely deserves it.
@@TheLocherRoom She does. Thanks so much. Love your videos, takes me back. Such great actors!!!!
😍🙏😍
What was the cause of her death? So sad
She passed from cancer, Maddy.
@@TheLocherRoom thanks Alan. Life is so very precious. Please take good care. Blessings from upstate NY about 35 minutes from the ⚾️ Hall of Fame 🙂
Vanessa look sleepy lol
She was listening with intent.
I thought Maeve looked great and it was so wonderful to see her again.
How HOT was JWS in that clip with his 5o'clock shadow?? MMMM
Ha Ha -- he's a very handsome man, Joey.
Wonderful tribute to an amazing actress. Thank you so much.
Glad you enjoyed it!
