I'm 52, watched GL since the late 70's, and remember the 4 Musketeers REALLY well! I always felt Philip and Beth belonged together, even when Beth was with Lujack. Judi and Grant had undeniable chemistry, to me! Anyway, thanks for getting these four back together and going down memory lane, Alan! GREAT interview!
I saw Krista/Mindy at the mall in Eastern NC years ago when she was signing autographs. . I loved the Four Musketeers storyline. I remember my mother saying she was cheering for Beth and Philip's escape at work. Soaps were so good then.
The 4 Musketeers were such a big part of my later teen years, as we all "graduated" the class of 1983! I think the first scenes I saw were Beth's introduction in the hospital with Mindy! Such memories! Thanks again guys!!😊😊😊😊😊
This was my FAVORITE story EVER on Guiding Light. Phillip & Beth was such a great love story. BUT… even greater love story was Rick and Phillip. No matter what those two ALWAYS came back together as Best Friends!!!!!!! I would stay with my grandma every school vacation and we would always watch GL & ATWT everyday.
What a marvelous way to spend an evening in 2024. Thank you Locher. Guiding light was a phenom never to be duplicated. Many thanks to you for hosting so many of the greats.
I remember watching the four musketeers as a young mom, while my 13 month old and newborn napped. They are now parents themselves. Many nice memories of escape to Guiding Light. Thank you!
I started watching guiding light when i was 12 with my mom I'm now almost 80 and I still miss the guiding light! it was 60 years of my life so good to see you!
I love these folks, I loved Guiding Light. My mom started out listening to the story when it was on the radio...and I literally grew up with Guiding Light. The reason I became a serious watcher of Guiding Light was for these four and the fact that they were my age..and no one played Beth like Judi :) I was so melancholy to watch the final episode in 2009. Wishing all of the GL cast throughout the years all the best!
Love this! I just realized Hayden Panitierre played Beth's daughter on Guiding Light, and Tina (then Krista Tesrau)'s daughter on One Life to Live! It might have been reversed actually timewise.
Alan, what an amazing show with these 4! They were my first experience tapping into Guiding Light. Lightning in a bottle casting, acting, writing, producing, directing, etc. This reunion was just so special. The genuine shared affection and memories - wow. Especially loved the stories about their mentors on the show, their appreciation for each other, and their gratitude toward the fans. Class acts - each and every one! As always, you do the best job creating and facilitating these opportunities for the actors and fans, and we so appreciate you and your awesome talent.❤

Really loved seeing you all again! My favorite Soap & my favorite people! My grandma & my Mom watched for years starting when GL was on radio! I'm still upset the show got canceled. As a big fan I don't think we'll ever get over that! Love to you all! You are special & you are missed ❤️
I watch this while it played live earlier. Seeing the four of them took me back to my childhood . At 9 years old and as soon as I would get home from school I would sit down and watch these four . I was also a Beth and Lujack fan too. Thank you for this today !♥️
Thank You so very much Alan for putting this together! I loved the 4 musketeers and can't believe it has been forty years. I will always remember getting the opportunity to meet Grant at the GL event in 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia. I was chosen to come up on stage and do a scene with him which was awesome! I began watching Guiding Light in 1977 and stayed with it till its end in September of 2009. I still miss this show. These memories are simply awesome!
Truly amazing reminiscing with these fine actors. Grew up in eastern North Carolina and was in high school when these characters were introduced and absolutely enjoyed bringing them into my living room everyday. Their characters were growing up as I was growing up and really felt close to them. How amazing that the actors are such wonderfully nice and genuine people. It really does my heart good to see them together and to know the fondness that they have for each other. Alan you did a great thing today and I thank you!❤
Finally got to sit and catch up with this! Thank you! These four were my high school favs! Love seeing them! The prom and Christmas in NYC with Nick were favorite story lines.
I miss the 80s Guiding Light and I miss the 4 musketeers. This takes me back to my early teens coming home school to watch this show. What chemistry. I loved the prom episode, Mindys birthday party. Phillip and Beth confessing their love. The whole New York City storyline with all four of them. To Mindy’s pregnancy. The devestation of Phillip and Mindy’s wedding. I can go on and on.
@@TheLocherRoom I never wanted their story to end with the original four actors. Guiding Light was so amazing at that time. They were a big reason for my tuning in?
I hated when they cancelled Guiding Light. I loved that show and his characters. I wish it was still. They cancelled it way too soon. I read that Grant had tried to get it back on the air right after it was cancelled. It said he discussed it with a producer but the man passed away and that ended the talks. Guiding Light was much better than any soaps still airing. Thank you Alan for having these four on. They are still missed everyday at three o’clock.
That was a great and fun show! It was wonderful seeing the 4 Musketeers again after all these years. I loved hearing all their stories and funny moments. Micheal O'Leary is a riot! 😃
This is great Alan, thank you! My mom started ATWT on radio, then Channel 13. So I did same til they came off air. But GL was definitely my fav. Grant is still so handsome, love his smile and sense of humor. I don’t think I ever had a favorite because there were so many good actors/actresses
Thank you for this amazing treat! I grew up watching Guiding Light from age six until my senior year in high school. I used to fake sick from school to watch cliffhanger fridays 😂😂
Just re-watched the prom episode and it had me in my feelings cause I remember watching it in real time as a 16 year old. I remember Truly by Lionel Richie playing and all of the other 80's songs and it took me back to time when it soaps were great
Loved seeing the 4 Muskateers! I just went back to my 14 yr. old self! Loved seeing their faces and sharing in their memories! They all look wonderful. GL was a great part of my life until the show ended.
Great show. I had been watching GL since 1978 or so. Carrie Todd split personality, marrying Ross & the murder of Diane Ballard. I’m talking good stuff. The 4 Musketeers were the new generation. I’d love to see you do an interview with Carl Evans, Beth Ehlers & Rick Hearst. They became the next, next generation. Great memories. Keep up the good work.
Diane Ballard (Sofia Landon) worked at Spaulding & was in love with Alan. She was into blackmailing people. Carrie Todd (Jane Elliott) killed her. Great soap stuff.
My mom was a big Guiding Light fan when I was little. I would watch the show as I did my homework in front of the TV. When she stopped watching soap operas, I stayed loyal. I loved Beth and Phillip and rarely missed an episode.
@@TheLocherRoom I was living in New York at the time and wish I had a chance to go by the studio like you did. This was really great so many great memories! Thank you Alan for getting the "Four Musketeers" back together again, I always hoped they would do this. Michael, what can say about him 😆. This was just wonderful! The Four Musketeers forever!
Thank you all for the memories. Watching the Four Musketeers was a huge part of my teen years. The characters were going through so much angst at the same time I was.

Rex Everhart, who Grant mentions played Santa Claus every year was in the first Friday the 13th with fort Guiding Light star Kevin Bacon and that movie was written by Victor Miller who wrote for Guiding Light in the early 90s and a bunch of other soaps
Wow! A good blast from the past, my late Mom and I were GL fans, I started watching on and off late 70s and started watching regularly early 80s until the show ended in"09, GL is missed and still fondly remembered, thanks always Alan, it was good to see the 4 of them together, although I got used to Beth Chamberlin I missed Judi Evans when she left, and Kim Simms for me never really replaced Krista..
All four still look amazing. And I say that as someone who is about the same age as each. I was a high school senior and then a college freshman during the Four Musketeers story. Where I went to college you would watch your soap with a group each day on the ground floor of your residence hall. It got established early in the school year if your dorm was a GL dorm or a GH dorm.
Thank you so so much for this!! Truly (no pun intended - I mean who could forget the prom) this made my day! I cannot believe how long this storyline and cast stuck with me. It was amazing seeing them all together again, it was a special moment in time!
You always bring it Alan. Thank you so much for this....and yes you are correct....we got hooked for life because of the 4 Musketeers. Brilliant actors, writers and production values. How I miss those glorious days. When TV was awesome. Love to have you interview Pamela Long....any chance?
I still watch the Guiding Light on you tube. I wish it hadn't gone off the air. Loved these four. God bless you all. I would love to see these four continue to act together. Any chance of a spin off of Guiding Light ????
@@TheLocherRoom Definitely. Love your shows. Love these four and Love Guiding Light. Thank y'all for all the entertainment years ago and thank y'all for the videos on you tube. I listen to them at work.
Thanks for another wonderful cast reunion. I was a huge fan (and still am) of Judi Evans during the storyline when Beth was blind after an explosion. Seeing the clips you shared during this interview took me down memory lane.
What a nice walk down memory lane-40 years ago these young actors filled my High School with wonderful entertainment. I lamented the lack of diversity back them but the story was still relatable. How many days did I skip to prep a meal to sit and watch. Lastly, I can relate to Grant : feeling about Kobe-she and Pam did shoo a lot of important characters off the show in favor of (thankfully) lasting characters. That must have been hard to go through and I’m glad he was honest.
A great wonderful happy interview. And at least at guiding light these charecters had a happy ending on guiding light. And also a testement to these actors talents. As Judi not only was the original Beth and one emmys for Beth but also as Adrienne and Paulina Cory. And as a recast Paulina really turned around that charecter. And it is also a testement to Judy's talents that she could have amazing chemistry with grant Alexander. But also Tom eplin at aw. And with wally Kurth at days. And Krista's talents too who also stepped into the role of Tina at oltl. And did an amazing job stepping into Andrea Evans huge shoes after Karen witter. And she was the 4th or 5th Tina as I forgot about the 2 Tina's from 1984 to 1985 before Andrea came back. And Krista had great chemistry with Micheal o leary and john loprieno. At oltl. And yes at the time I still missed Andrea at oltl. But still enjoyed the hell out of Krista. As Tina even if the writing was dumb at times And as far as guiding light Kim was the one when I first watched. But God I love Krista's. Mindy too. And at least she came back. The same way Andrea came back as tina years later at oltl. Any way unlike some of the other memories this interview did not leave me wanting to kill a headwriter or ep. Like the Anna Holbrook one and I loved her as sharlene and David Forsythe as John Hudson. but the stench like other things at another world that happened at aw still gets me so angry. The same way the Ed Baur Lillian Maureen stench still reaks to this day. But thank God Judy was not there for that with Tina Lilian or Micheal o leary as rick Ed's son. But Judy did get a taste of it at aw with the Paulina going from Jake to Joe in a storyline that still wreaks in not making sense and up there with the other 2 I mentioned that all have the same stench and that's not even getting into Sam fowler again. But anyway this wonderful interview brings happy memories for me without the stupidity soap opera ep headwriter stench. That so many seem to have when at least to me it does not seem so complicated.
My eleven year old self rushing home from school to catch the last ten minutes of a Friday episode.......the thrill of the cliffhanger ending scene followed by the devastation of knowing I'd NEVER, EVER get to see the culminating opening of Monday's show unless I faked sick to stay home. Waiting for the next season on Netflix doesn't even come close.
Love this story, Joannie. I probably did the same thing and felt the same way for many years calling friends when the cliffhanger came saying, "can you believe what just happened."
I’m 49 now and I started watching Guiding Light in 1981 when I was only seven years old.

Thank you, Joe. I so appreciate you tuning-in. I have tried for Pam. I would still love her.
I loved their time on GL. I would rush home from school and the bus stop to watch them. I have started watching the episodes online and love it.

I still watch the Guiding Light on you tube. I wish it hadn't gone off the air. Loved these four. God bless you all. I would love to see these four continue to act together. Any chance of a spin off of Guiding Light ????
Wouldn't that be great, Peggy! A spin-off we would all watch.
@@TheLocherRoom Definitely. Love your shows. Love these four and Love Guiding Light. Thank y'all for all the entertainment years ago and thank y'all for the videos on you tube. I listen to them at work.

You bet, Laura. Glad you enjoyed it.
This is great! Thanks for the memories.
💛💛💛
Thanks for another wonderful cast reunion. I was a huge fan (and still am) of Judi Evans during the storyline when Beth was blind after an explosion. Seeing the clips you shared during this interview took me down memory lane.
I'm so happy to hear this, Ryan. Thank you for watching.
Love you “kids.” Always have, always will. ❤
Same here, Mimi. Same here!
Cool to know the actor who played Bradley was a nice guy. I recall he died a few years ago.
👍
One of my favorite episodes! Thank you!!
YAY! Thank you, Bernie.
This was great!! Thanks, Alan.
Glad you enjoyed it, Matthew.
Thank you Alan. 😘
😍😍

What a nice walk down memory lane-40 years ago these young actors filled my High School with wonderful entertainment. I lamented the lack of diversity back them but the story was still relatable. How many days did I skip to prep a meal to sit and watch. Lastly, I can relate to Grant
: feeling about Kobe-she and Pam did shoo a lot of important characters off the show in favor of (thankfully) lasting characters. That must have been hard to go through and I’m glad he was honest.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Tim. Thank you so much.
Thank you for this. 😊
You're so welcome. Thank you for your note.
Just like I know they are all great!!
😍
Thank you! I loved seeing them and hearing their stories. I started watching GL now on utube
You only watched GL on UA-cam? Incredible, Christine. Thank you for watching.
❤ thank u Alan I loved this so glad u do these
You bet, Jesse. Thank you for tuning-in.
Krista and Judi are beautiful, kind ,and sweet!!
100 % correct.
As Tina even if the writing was dumb at times
And as far as guiding light Kim was the one when I first watched.
But anyway this wonderful interview brings happy memories for me without the stupidity soap opera
ep headwriter stench.
That so many seem to have when at least to me it does not seem so complicated.
Thank you for watching and your notes, Gabriel. Have a great weekend.
I started watching GL because of these Actors there the best love Judi Evans ❤😊
😍😍😍😍
