@@eacey That's not true. An actually competitive list that packs 3 Doomsday Arks and Destroyers, Tomb Blades and Troops in reserve will be able to put up a good fight. It should be able to remove a Repulsor each turn and wipe the marine infantries quite easily. A footslogging assaulty list with no real long ranged AT firepower going up against a mechanized meatgrinder is a foregone conclusion.
@@attilathenun this is a friendly game not competitive. Shouldn't have to worry about a competitive list as much. Even still, space marines just mop the floor with everyone else in either sense. Kinda takes the fun out of watching/playing against them.
Gir Spirit Bane Lord That I agree. Marines are made to be a beginner-friendly army that is extremely fault tolerant and even sub-par lists can function well. This means you cannot take sub-par lists against even a "fun" SM army. Marine is probably the worst army to learn how to play competitively because you can afford to make mistakes and the fault tolerance of the army is going to be able to pickup the slack. Almost any Xenos players with a competitive mindset can pick up marine for the first time and do well, but a marine player who pick up a Xenos army for the first time is likely to get stomped.
It wouldn’t matter neck run still are pretty weak Ron’s have such short range and not much movement they have to be out in the open. Just get used to seeing the old list from 8th trying to work.

Richard Broughton yes as someone who is new to the game (have learned a lot though, I’ve been a “lurker” on 40k UA-cam channels for about a year now) and is starting an Eldar army I’m not particularly happy about some of the 9th edition changes (ie the fly keyword). I’m also not happy about how Space Marines already have a vastly larger unit roster than anyone else but of course they are starting 9th edition by getting new units, including one that seems a lot like our Dragons but better. And yeah it is a big issue when Space Marines are out of balance because they are the most popular faction anyway so not only does that make you run into them even more but when you do you are playing against an over powered faction.

I had the same thing happen with my orks vs white scars. I brought a fun goff list with mork, battlwagon etc And the "white scars" player used 2 repulsors 1 contempor dread , and those new meta guys from indominus and shot 1k of orks off the board turn 1 . It was silly . Terrain makes a huge difference in this edition
From my experience the reanimator can work if you stick it behind obscuring terrain because it has 9" ability and doesn't need line of sight. Granted there wasn't much los blocking terrain on this board which just doesn't seem fair.

I thought the same thing. It was basically a shooting gallery. With some nice chunky LoS terrain you might be able to hide some stuff and really limit how much firepower each unit would have to survive. I think we would have seen just how nice reanimation protocols could have been.
keep in mind, canonically SM are suppose to be out shot by Necrons. I just think the power creep doesnt favor xenos while they slowly squat the old space marines and try to get people to buy new hotness primaris. You bet your butt that as soon as the last OG marine goes out Primaris goes back to 1w and 1 less AP/6" less range on everything in their codex.

I saw the video length and I knew what was going to happen, then I saw the open field for the SM guns and I was even more certain. Unfortunate, you guys clearly put a lot of effort into these, but when a game is this unbalanced it's not much fun to watch.

Welcome to the hobby. We print rule books to make it look like we know what we're doing, but everyone just makes it up as they go along. It's a really good excuse for grown adults to play with toys and not feel absurd.

As a necron player we are in a bad place right now. Even with the new models illuminor and the indomitus models. Hopefully our new codex brings many improvements. We know we’re getting new monolith, destroyer and spider rules.

When I saw the length of the video was only just over an hour I knew that it would be a disaster for Necrons. Can we see more Necrons and less Space Marines in bat reps? Craftworlds, Knights, Death Guard and Thousand Sons would be cool. Maybe some Grey Knights also. Cheers!
I think it might be harder to film but playing on a table with more LOS blocking terrain and cover would be so much better in a game that is possible to be over when the lists are being written if it's played on a open field.
@@williamharvey7076 It honestly depends on the build, back when I played I wrecked with them. Tesseract vault was bonkers I rememeber 1 shotting a tau riptide utilizing one even took out a tau longstrike with a single unit of praetors.
This just made me feel bad... it seemed like the players had not talked through what they were going to do. One guy brings a new casual army while the other brings a tryhard army seemingly adapted to both the table and the opposing army.
I’m sure Luka knew he would basically be tabled by turn 2. This is why I stopped playing necrons early in 8th. I would set up and then be tabled. Cracks me up everyone is saying there broken. Lol.
This board was really light on terrain and it was obvious in the first turn when the BA player immediately drew great firing lanes and blasted the Necrons to pieces.
Don't think you can. Start with 12 CP for that size game. If 2 Patrol Dets one is free because of warlord but the other you pay 2CP. 10 left. Then the 3 units in strat reserve (2x Aggressors, 1 outrider) would cost 2 CP total to SR so he should have 8 CP max turn 1 with a +1cp for 9cp if battle forged.
Pretty sure with terrain that sparse the Necrons would have lost if they had 4K points. Isn’t making it so no unit can shoot every point on the battlefield the main change to this edition
Hey, Love the bat reps. I'm always looking forward to seeing more 40k!. I'm sure I'm the millionth person to ask this, but because of the COVID pandemic it is literally impossible for any Mini War Gaming fans to come into the studio and play and record a battle report. In hopes to get around this, I'd love to see viewer submitted lists played by a Mini War Gamer. I'm sure Mini War Gaming has their own priorities of armies to showcase, but if it's possible, I think it would be a great way of getting more viewers involved while at home. With most LGS not allowing people to come in and play like they normally would, this could be a great way for allowing those of us cooped up inside to see our new brewed lists in action. There may also be viewers who, due to the pandemic, have come upon more financial hardships, and may not be able to afford newer models for their collection. It may also give more looks into what others are toying around with, now that 9th edition is launched. I've been toying with a 1750 Rule of Cool Grey Knights list that I'd love to see played on the table If anything, I hope everyone at the Mini War Gaming family, and their families and friends as well are doing well and staying safe! Love the reports, can't wait for the next 40k report!!
As a surprise to literally nobody, bangles wipe the floor with Necrons on a wide open board. It's cool to see new units get shot off the board turn 1 showcasing absolutely nothing about how the newcrons actually play, only how they die. This was over turn 1.
I love the respect for each other displayed in this video. Kindness and giving slack to take back a move may seem overly casual, but it speaks volumes to who you both are as gamers. This is an example to be copied and put into all of our games. Well done.

That's because Space Marines in general aren't balanced. GW went way to overboard in terms of statlines and new rules for SM in my opinion. They're so far ahead of basically every other army it's laughable. And Necrons have been pretty mediocre since the beginning of 8th.
So how can he build this load out for the repulsor? Been working on putting this blood angel list to paper. From everything I am looking at he picked multiple weapon options from a single weapon choice loadout? And from my math this is over 1750pts total..
Nice batrep guys. Just a rules note though, units with the Fly keyword ignore other models when charging, but treat other terrain like any other model. Core rules P.20 - Flying when charging. Sorry if it’s already been mentioned
@@andrehennig5702 Outside of the doomsday arc, Necron don't really have much in the way of anti-tank heavy fire support. Focused fire from the immortals could have done something, but necron shouldn't have to bring 2 doomsday arcs in every list.
(Thanks for sharing the BR) Space Marines seems OP still, since they've been top 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 in 20 man tournies, where there were only 8 marine armies playing..... BEFORE +1 wound marines. I was going to dump 300 bucks into GW to restart an army, but I'm convinced to just sell what I have on Ebay instead. (back when 10 marines were 18 dollars, and I have over 10k points in chaos alone). Just going to keep at the throat of disliking the 50% queen tax from 2004 that 'supposedly caused' the price hike from 1.2 dollars a model to averaging 3.3dpm. Thanks for the battle reports to help us decide things like this.
Mostly love the content but as has been stated this map was so open that it very clearly favored one army over the other. I am not sure if that was intentional but it was very clearly a super oversight if not.
I actually enjoy to see Blood Angels win outside the BA melee meta. It's not because it's a melee focused faction that you MUST go melee every single time, that 1 makes BA list really predictable and 2 just lives out so many great kit to collect and the false idea that you have to collect another chapter to use shooty units and that it's just silly, and most important expensive
Luka, you should have hide the reanimator more. This was even possible on this map. Thinking, that he will be shot from the beginning is clear, if you reveal it that open to shoot at it. You couldn‘t do much against the bad rolls and the agressors are just to hard. But I think you split your army too much in the end and you didn‘t use enough of the cover which was there. However, you knew the rules well. Maybe you used the plasmancer to defensively. It is an offense cryptek compared to the other crypteks from 8. edition. The use of the monster buckets was great! It‘s such a cool unit...
It’s getting old watching Necrons in all the different battle reports get blown off the table, not just on MWG. I know they beat GSC but that was a throw away.
A table with no LoS blocking terrain is pretty much an auto loss of you go second if both armies can shoot. Especially with armies like this. As a Space Marine player I don't go HAM with Repulsors and Aggressors against a fun list. We all know Marines are crazy so as Marine players we need to tone down lists for non-competitive games. It's just more fun if both armies have a chance.

You really should name all the shots from a unit before firing any, not shoot with one guy, see if the target dies and then pick the next guy to shoot with.

Uh...I like both guys, but when you decide to try new units in friendly game, make sure both are taking frindly list. Footsloggin army without AT could work...in case of LOS blocking terrain and opponent taking more fun list. Two repulsors??? Big unit of Aggressors...that wasnt fun.Repulsors just murdered necrons before they could do...anything.
Gotta love when one army far more expensive on a points per model basis with less effective models. Really makes for the balanced game feel...oh wait....
Heey Luka, two corrections on the Necron rules for you; -The Plasmancer has Fly keyword. Not that interesting with his 5" move, but it wouldve helped with those pipes. -If a Plasmancers advances or falls back, you cannot use his Harbinger of Destruction ability.
Not for Dave (page 199 of the rule book) in your turn 2 when you were targeting the destroyers you said you could see all 3 but line of sight is now base to base. It didn't change as you killed them all with the first volley of eliminators but if they had lived you wouldn't have been able to target them 👍
@@anniedoughty3320 okay so I looked it up and it's a little tricky. As written yup line of sight mostly is true LoS but that terrain piece looks obscuring and so is infinitely tall at all points. So if he could see the weapons without going over any bit of the terrain they are visible but if it goes over any of the terrain he can't see them. So without being there it's impossible to say one way or the other, Interesting fringe case though 👍

I thought the new obscuring terrain rules meant that as long as the terrain is 5 inches and you cannot see the models bases then even if their blades are sticking out they count as not visible? Yet he says he can target the destroyers through the giant rock spire because he can see their blades?
Obscuring does not mention having to see the base. You only have to be able to see part of the model without that line of sight passing over or through the terrain.
1) Luka you may not want to run 'good stuff' list but you HAVE to bring some AT. Seriously, what was the plan for any armor with this list? 2) If you want to bring the Indominitus stuff, run Novohk. Right now as Novohk is, Skorpehk destroyers are wonderful. Play it while you can. 3) Warriors are good with the gauss reapers in a Ghost ark. drop in range and mulch whatever you are looking at. Other than that, play immortals all day.
Once fortifications become a thing for armies to take it should help a lot with blocking LoS. If the table won't provide any cover you'll just have to spend some points to bring it yourself.
Space Marines are pretty bonkers... and with all the new tools that they are getting i don't think we will see a decline of them in the coming 12-15 months
No spoilers: A) why use BA if no BA units? Sang guard or death company. Defeats the points IMO! B) BA not in melee by end of turn 1. You doing it wrong 😂 I kid, fun to watch!
I've been playing with the new reanimator and 60 warriors a bit... If you don't have LoS blocking terrain you are more or less wasting your time with reanimators.... It is just dead points, if you have LoS blocking terrain particularly stuff in the middle you can play heavy on one side with a C'Tan Deceiver redeploy. You then can get your chip damage whilst hiding your monsters move 1-2 squads out and hold the table. I think taking the cryptek with the 5+ invun is just too handy when you have blast and keeping some of your warriors even if its a string of three is just handy.... Then you can get enough board control to score secondaries and dig in to try outscore, outlast, outkill... The list and style of that infantry spam silver tide can hold its own even against space marines. Blast is ridiculous in this edition and the only way to really get around aggressors, particularly ultramarines, is to really intend to pull from the tip of their range and hope that they kill enough to actually be out of range of second shooting or lose LoS. By doing that you get your reanimation value but it is tough.... The old-school necron list is pretty good... but if you play on a table like this without LoS blocking terrain against that much blast you may as well forget about it.... Necrons are just not tough enough to deal with it. Hopefully Dave is over his fear of necrons by then... If he isn't just let him try play the list on this kind of table giving Dave 18 aggressors and give him first turn. I am sure things will go his way... It will be a miracle if you are not tabled by turn 3 though.

Well, you either play Horus Heresy 2: Electric Boogaloo or you play literally anything else and have fun among xenos and Imperium. It would also help to have a decent list and a player that utilizes cover against an army that can outshoot him
I think taking only 480 points of troops (and only deploying 240) in a 2,000 point game is rough, especially when its a hold objectives game. For a 2,000 point game, I would take 60 or 80 Necron Warriors (probably 80), or even possibly 100 (which would cost 1200 points, leaving 800 points for fancy things). It probably sounds strange, but Necrons run pretty well as a hoard army. If the Blood Angels spent a 1,000 points on primarius marines then he would be outnumbered 2:1. It just seems like, as a general rule, spending less than 40 percent of your points on troop choices is a bad idea.
I agree with 9th Ed that there has to be a lot of terrain but not everyone owns all the terrain this edition calls for. This just shows off the importance of LOS blocking terrain now.
No Baal predators, no assault marines, no librarian dreadnought and no sanguinary Guard. This is just a generic army that was just happen to be painted red and black. There just red Ultramarines. Vary sad 😢
army unique units are rapidly loosing ground compared to generic primaris. Remember long term old scale will be relegated to legends. I hope after 1 more generic launch of marines we get army unique stuff.

Have you guys tried LoS Blocking terrain? Losing handfuls of necrons off the table turn after turn isn't a game. Its practicing at a speed bag.

Really don't get why a T5 W6 model got the Monster keyword. It's tall, but also lanky and obviously able to squat and hide.

As a necron player we are in a bad place right now. Even with the new models illuminor and the indomitus models. Hopefully our new codex brings many improvements. We know we’re getting new monolith, destroyer and spider rules.
But “horde” necron armies aren’t very good, necrons are best as an elite army.

I think there might be a place for warriors in ghost arks for objectives though. Triarch stalkers are good now which is why Im probably taking 2. When I saw the length of the video was only just over an hour I knew that it would be a disaster for Necrons. Can we see more Necrons and less Space Marines in bat reps? Craftworlds, Knights, Death Guard and Thousand Sons would be cool. Maybe some Grey Knights also. Cheers!
I think it might be harder to film but playing on a table with more LOS blocking terrain and cover would be so much better in a game that is possible to be over when the lists are being written if it's played on a open field.

@@williamharvey7076 It honestly depends on the build, back when I played I wrecked with them. Tesseract vault was bonkers I rememeber 1 shotting a tau riptide utilizing one even took out a tau longstrike with a single unit of praetors.

This just made me feel bad... it seemed like the players had not talked through what they were going to do. One guy brings a new casual army while the other brings a tryhard army seemingly adapted to both the table and the opposing army.
I’m sure Luka knew he would basically be tabled by turn 2. This is why I stopped playing necrons early in 8th. I would set up and then be tabled. Cracks me up everyone is saying there broken. Lol.
Cool batrep but the open terrain made this an easy win for space marines.
This board was really light on terrain and it was obvious in the first turn when the BA player immediately drew great firing lanes and blasted the Necrons to pieces.
How can you start with 10CP with 1750pts, 3 sqwads in reserve and this many detachements?
Don't think you can. Start with 12 CP for that size game. If 2 Patrol Dets one is free because of warlord but the other you pay 2CP. 10 left. Then the 3 units in strat reserve (2x Aggressors, 1 outrider) would cost 2 CP total to SR so he should have 8 CP max turn 1 with a +1cp for 9cp if battle forged.
Pretty sure with terrain that sparse the Necrons would have lost if they had 4K points. Isn’t making it so no unit can shoot every point on the battlefield the main change to this edition

I'm sure I'm the millionth person to ask this, but because of the COVID pandemic it is literally impossible for any Mini War Gaming fans to come into the studio and play and record a battle report. In hopes to get around this, I'd love to see viewer submitted lists played by a Mini War Gamer. I'm sure Mini War Gaming has their own priorities of armies to showcase, but if it's possible, I think it would be a great way of getting more viewers involved while at home. With most LGS not allowing people to come in and play like they normally would, this could be a great way for allowing those of us cooped up inside to see our new brewed lists in action. There may also be viewers who, due to the pandemic, have come upon more financial hardships, and may not be able to afford newer models for their collection. It may also give more looks into what others are toying around with, now that 9th edition is launched. I've been toying with a 1750 Rule of Cool Grey Knights list that I'd love to see played on the table
If anything, I hope everyone at the Mini War Gaming family, and their families and friends as well are doing well and staying safe! Love the reports, can't wait for the next 40k report!!
As a surprise to literally nobody, bangles wipe the floor with Necrons on a wide open board. It's cool to see new units get shot off the board turn 1 showcasing absolutely nothing about how the newcrons actually play, only how they die.

I love the respect for each other displayed in this video. Kindness and giving slack to take back a move may seem overly casual, but it speaks volumes to who you both are as gamers. This is an example to be copied and put into all of our games. Well done.

You cant list a full infantry list vs a double shoting anti infantry list. This game is so stupid, no cover, double repulsar vs the gauss really? Doesnt look balanced to me
That's because Space Marines in general aren't balanced. GW went way to overboard in terms of statlines and new rules for SM in my opinion. They're so far ahead of basically every other army it's laughable. And Necrons have been pretty mediocre since the beginning of 8th.

Nice batrep guys. Just a rules note though, units with the Fly keyword ignore other models when charging, but treat other terrain like any other model. Core rules P.20 - Flying when charging. Sorry if it’s already been mentioned

No that list of Luka was missing Heavy fire support at all. The two repulsors would have been enough to win. Necrons had nothing against them
@@andrehennig5702 Outside of the doomsday arc, Necron don't really have much in the way of anti-tank heavy fire support. Focused fire from the immortals could have done something, but necron shouldn't have to bring 2 doomsday arcs in every list.

(Thanks for sharing the BR) Space Marines seems OP still, since they've been top 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 in 20 man tournies, where there were only 8 marine armies playing..... BEFORE +1 wound marines. I was going to dump 300 bucks into GW to restart an army, but I'm convinced to just sell what I have on Ebay instead. (back when 10 marines were 18 dollars, and I have over 10k points in chaos alone). Just going to keep at the throat of disliking the 50% queen tax from 2004 that 'supposedly caused' the price hike from 1.2 dollars a model to averaging 3.3dpm. Thanks for the battle reports to help us decide things like this.

Mostly love the content but as has been stated this map was so open that it very clearly favored one army over the other. I am not sure if that was intentional but it was very clearly a super oversight if not.

I actually enjoy to see Blood Angels win outside the BA melee meta. It's not because it's a melee focused faction that you MUST go melee every single time, that 1 makes BA list really predictable and 2 just lives out so many great kit to collect and the false idea that you have to collect another chapter to use shooty units and that it's just silly, and most important expensive

Luka, you should have hide the reanimator more. This was even possible on this map. Thinking, that he will be shot from the beginning is clear, if you reveal it that open to shoot at it. You couldn‘t do much against the bad rolls and the agressors are just to hard. But I think you split your army too much in the end and you didn‘t use enough of the cover which was there. However, you knew the rules well. Maybe you used the plasmancer to defensively. It is an offense cryptek compared to the other crypteks from 8. edition. The use of the monster buckets was great! It‘s such a cool unit...
It’s getting old watching Necrons in all the different battle reports get blown off the table, not just on MWG. I know they beat GSC but that was a throw away.
A table with no LoS blocking terrain is pretty much an auto loss of you go second if both armies can shoot. Especially with armies like this.
As a Space Marine player I don't go HAM with Repulsors and Aggressors against a fun list. We all know Marines are crazy so as Marine players we need to tone down lists for non-competitive games. It's just more fun if both armies have a chance.

You really should name all the shots from a unit before firing any, not shoot with one guy, see if the target dies and then pick the next guy to shoot with.

Uh...I like both guys, but when you decide to try new units in friendly game, make sure both are taking frindly list. Footsloggin army without AT could work...in case of LOS blocking terrain and opponent taking more fun list. Two repulsors??? Big unit of Aggressors...that wasnt fun.Repulsors just murdered necrons before they could do...anything.
This game felt like the Marines were playing with more points than the Necrons >_
Gotta love when one army far more expensive on a points per model basis with less effective models. Really makes for the balanced game feel...oh wait....

Heey Luka, two corrections on the Necron rules for you;
-The Plasmancer has Fly keyword. Not that interesting with his 5" move, but it wouldve helped with those pipes.
-If a Plasmancers advances or falls back, you cannot use his Harbinger of Destruction ability.
Not for Dave (page 199 of the rule book) in your turn 2 when you were targeting the destroyers you said you could see all 3 but line of sight is now base to base. It didn't change as you killed them all with the first volley of eliminators but if they had lived you wouldn't have been able to target them 👍
Distance is base to base but line of sight is to any part I thought 🤔?
@@anniedoughty3320 okay so I looked it up and it's a little tricky. As written yup line of sight mostly is true LoS but that terrain piece looks obscuring and so is infinitely tall at all points. So if he could see the weapons without going over any bit of the terrain they are visible but if it goes over any of the terrain he can't see them. So without being there it's impossible to say one way or the other, Interesting fringe case though 👍
@@beefymrjam they should probably define the terrain before they start playing and make it clear what everything does. There's so much more to terrain now that you kind of have to explain it. Who knows how they played that piece?

I've seen them do well in other reports vs marines. But here aggressors x2 and Repulsors vs an infantry list. Not to mention no obscuring terrain..
Those repulsors man... When a unit can fire more guns then the model even has that means there's something wrong.

I thought the new obscuring terrain rules meant that as long as the terrain is 5 inches and you cannot see the models bases then even if their blades are sticking out they count as not visible? Yet he says he can target the destroyers through the giant rock spire because he can see their blades?
Obscuring does not mention having to see the base. You only have to be able to see part of the model without that line of sight passing over or through the terrain.

1) Luka you may not want to run 'good stuff' list but you HAVE to bring some AT. Seriously, what was the plan for any armor with this list?
2) If you want to bring the Indominitus stuff, run Novohk. Right now as Novohk is, Skorpehk destroyers are wonderful. Play it while you can.
3) Warriors are good with the gauss reapers in a Ghost ark. drop in range and mulch whatever you are looking at. Other than that, play immortals all day.

Once fortifications become a thing for armies to take it should help a lot with blocking LoS. If the table won't provide any cover you'll just have to spend some points to bring it yourself.
Space Marines are pretty bonkers... and with all the new tools that they are getting i don't think we will see a decline of them in the coming 12-15 months

So another example on how broken Space Marines are... its really sad to see GW only caring for 1 faction.
I've been playing with the new reanimator and 60 warriors a bit... If you don't have LoS blocking terrain you are more or less wasting your time with reanimators.... It is just dead points, if you have LoS blocking terrain particularly stuff in the middle you can play heavy on one side with a C'Tan Deceiver redeploy. You then can get your chip damage whilst hiding your monsters move 1-2 squads out and hold the table. I think taking the cryptek with the 5+ invun is just too handy when you have blast and keeping some of your warriors even if its a string of three is just handy.... Then you can get enough board control to score secondaries and dig in to try outscore, outlast, outkill... The list and style of that infantry spam silver tide can hold its own even against space marines. Blast is ridiculous in this edition and the only way to really get around aggressors, particularly ultramarines, is to really intend to pull from the tip of their range and hope that they kill enough to actually be out of range of second shooting or lose LoS. By doing that you get your reanimation value but it is tough.... The old-school necron list is pretty good... but if you play on a table like this without LoS blocking terrain against that much blast you may as well forget about it.... Necrons are just not tough enough to deal with it.
Hopefully Dave is over his fear of necrons by then... If he isn't just let him try play the list on this kind of table giving Dave 18 aggressors and give him first turn. I am sure things will go his way... It will be a miracle if you are not tabled by turn 3 though.

Repulsors are surprisingly hard to kill when you don't bring a single anti-tank weapon I guess.
Well, you either play Horus Heresy 2: Electric Boogaloo or you play literally anything else and have fun among xenos and Imperium. It would also help to have a decent list and a player that utilizes cover against an army that can outshoot him

I think taking only 480 points of troops (and only deploying 240) in a 2,000 point game is rough, especially when its a hold objectives game. For a 2,000 point game, I would take 60 or 80 Necron Warriors (probably 80), or even possibly 100 (which would cost 1200 points, leaving 800 points for fancy things). It probably sounds strange, but Necrons run pretty well as a hoard army. If the Blood Angels spent a 1,000 points on primarius marines then he would be outnumbered 2:1. It just seems like, as a general rule, spending less than 40 percent of your points on troop choices is a bad idea.
I agree with 9th Ed that there has to be a lot of terrain but not everyone owns all the terrain this edition calls for. This just shows off the importance of LOS blocking terrain now.

No Baal predators, no assault marines, no librarian dreadnought and no sanguinary Guard. This is just a generic army that was just happen to be painted red and black. There just red Ultramarines. Vary sad 😢
army unique units are rapidly loosing ground compared to generic primaris.
Remember long term old scale will be relegated to legends.
I hope after 1 more generic launch of marines we get army unique stuff.
