Amazing. As a German I must say you did a wonderful job for this lovely lady and the car. This car is still today a wonderful piece of German engeneering art.
Greatest video ever. I cried. This is EXACTLY what the love of cars is all about. Cars are more than pieces of metal. They have a soul. And when you saw how she I acted with Annie, my heart melted.
I can place any event in my life around what I was driving at the time, and a lot of my happiest memories directly involve a car I've owned. Cars offer us a freedom to go almost anywhere, at any time.
Richard Poulson God IS real. And one day every human being that's lived on this planet, will be on bended knee before Him, declaring that Jesus Christ is Lord. That's not what I believe, it's in God's Word, in the New Testament book of Philippians, chapter 2, verses 9 and 10. Make sure to read the King James Versions, as it's the only true, authentic Word of God. Santa Claus isn't real, of course.
We have become so self centred in today’s world and to see a random act of kindness for this beautiful giving lady just melts your heart. Like Kathleen, we too can do our bit to make this world a better place without the expectation of having to receive something in return. The heartfelt joy of giving a little of your time for the good of others should be reward enough.
This is one of the best videos I've watched on UA-cam in a very long time. She lives her car and I can completely understand why. Amazing car for a amazing lady
This video was an absolutely heartfelt, beautiful story. The mechanics and the VW supervisor are as beautiful as the Volkswagen bug and woman (owner). You guys and gals are great people. You make the world a better place. You made my day. I’m not a religious person, but if it means anything, then I’ll say “god bless you all”.
When a car can be more than a car - it is a loved and cherished member of a person's life. Thank you to the staff at VW Mexico for taking part in such a wonderful project
Thrilled for this lovely lady, her friend of 51 years is as good as new and ready to do another 300,000 miles of adventures and smiles. Take care of each other, it’s what friends are for. Health and happiness from the U.K.
This really is a stunning thing to do. The emotion shown from the owner was clearly passion and love for her Beetle and VW did a fantastic job. Annie looks stunning.
I love my cars more than anything and just seeing the process of the car getting restored made me cry for Kathleen because I knew exactly how happy she was going to be after it was finished. Seeing that connection between someone and their car, is a raw emotion many of us can empathize with. She deserved it, and I know that car is going to run with her for the rest of her life
I'm so proud and thankful to Volkwagen co for their generosity what they did is priceless! She has the heart of an angel she deserves all the kindness in the world.
This is certainly a very lovely Video! My Heart went out to the Lady who gave so much Love for her Car!! All Humans should consider a Car to be a part of the Family !!!
OMG, What a wonderful story on such a relationship. Annie looks great and my hat is off to the team at Volkswagen North America, you guys rock!! Hi from Down Under Australia.
Que lindo trabajo y que feliz esa hermosa señora que corazón tan lindo tiene y mis felicitaciones por el gran equipo que asen muchachos hermoso trabajo que talento es de admirarse saludos a todos
I'm very happy for Kathleen getting her Annie back. But as the owner of 2 US spec 1967 Beetles in my life, I will never get used to seeing the '66 and earlier headlights on a '67. The '67 was unique. The ONLY year to have separate backup lights in the rear bumpers. The first year for the 12 volt electrical system, which included the fed-mandated sealed beam headlights. The last year for front seats without headrests. The last year for the giant 5 bolt wheel hubs. The last year for the old style bumpers with bows and overriders. And let's not forget, the LAST year where you had to open the hood to fill the gas tank.
Is it me... anytime I see anything old restore. Is like a master piece of time being brought back in time to the future. Beautiful job an awesome master piece.
OMG, that is something to behold. I pray whoever she leaves this car to, when she moves on pass this life, will cherish the VW's history as much as she did.
That’s awesome...my mom and dad still have their 58 and 59 VW bugs they bought brand new as well. I learned to drive in one at 8 years old and at 15 1/2 it was my car to drive for two years in high school until I got my own car. Cars are both Indigo Blue. I’m 52 years old this month...I’ve had my fair share of VW’s as well but none are more special than the ones I was born into.
Wow, Amazing story! 50 years with her Aircooled Volkwagen Bettle. A very rare love story for her car. Truly this car is proven and tested. It can be born again. But sad to say we the owners can not be restored to be young again, unlike this Beetle. Pretty amazing story and pretty amazing Bettle!😀
I can totally relate. I went into the Army in 1969 from Los Angeles. I got out in December 1971 and returned to LA with $1,800 in US Savings Bonds. I purchased a 1969 Orange VW Bug for I believe $100 and it has a 90-day warranty. I went to Palm Springs for a couple of days to visit my mother and then headed back to LA. I was in Interstate 10 going up a long incline on I10 near Yukipa (spelling) just before Redland. I managed to get to the top of the hill then BAM, the engine blew. I saw a tow truck and waived it down. The guy was returning to LA and offered to tow me back to Wilshire VW. The sales manager really tried to do a number on me and just before I signed the papers I called Bob Smith VW in Hollywood and told them what had happened. I needed to get Insurance on my soon to be new 1972 yellow Vw Bug with 4 miles on it. As I was talking to Bob Smith the Wilshire salespeople and Manager were listening to my call. Bon Smith asked me what I was paying for the 72 bug which they told me that they would send a driver to pick me up and said DO NOT sign the papers. The Manager at Wilshire VW cursed me out for the dirty dealing. If that occurred I would have torn that guy a new Az H and told him to STOP cursing at me and that he could stick the contract up his fat Az. Bottom line, I bought a 1972 VW bug Yellow with 3 miles and kept it for almost 36 years. I even took it to Germany in 1986 (I went back into the Army and Warrant Officer Academy and flight school. Here is the sad thing, We returned back to Fort Irwin California in 1989. One day we went to Victorville Ca in the Mojave desert. There was a bookstore that had ALL of the VIN numbers for the VW Bug. I went out to my car and got my VIN and looked it up in the book. Low and Behold I was big time shaken up!!!!! When I took my VW back to Germany I thought that it was so kool that she was returning back to Her Motherland. NOT sad to say. The VIN number in the book said that my 1972 Yellow Bug was made in Mexico City. I was heartbroken, to say the least. There was a little light with this story. I retired from the Army in 1997 at Fort Hood, Texas. It was time to sell my Bug because it was falling apart after 35 years so in 2007 I sold it to an Army wife who paid me $750 as a surprise because he always wanted to fix one up. The ironic thing was this, The soldier was returning from Irag and was getting out of the Army and they were moving back to, Ready? Hollywood California, where I bought the Bug in 1971. Well, that's my story so I can relate to this woman.
well it will be easier now to take that VW to it's motherland its a short trip from L.A. USA To Tijuana Mexico. You gotta see the bright side of things :p
I used to walk by this car everyday with my dog. I always thought it was such a beautiful car just as she was. I had a 66 red bug in college. What an amazing job they did at VW Mexico to restore the beautiful Annie. Congratulations to the lucky Kathleen!
Amazing. As a German I must say you did a wonderful job for this lovely lady and the car. This car is still today a wonderful piece of German engeneering art.
That's right. The Beetle was restored in the VW Plant, in Puebla, México.
Yes and we can see these wonderful cars in Karachi as well
Back when germans used to make good reliable cars easy to fix, now they make shitty unreliable luxury cars.
@@abegamers7304 😂😂yeah but we sell them much more out in all corners of the world😉.
This full restoration was made in the VW plant in Puebla, Mexico. Great job made by young mexican talented people
