After speaking to the tech in the aliexpress store, apparently you program these walkies with a USB C cable. I was a little confused after watching this then my bowfing cable didn't work. I'll try tonight when home.. great vid BTW, convinced me to get a set. Cracking little things. 👍
Hi Big Will, new subscriber here and new radio tinkerer. Following your channel as I have a lot to learn! You sound fairly local to me as well. Looking at these radios on Ali Exp., there seem to be a few different variants of these radios. There's even a Ksut M6 as well as the Ksun, but they look identical! I'm interested in buying a couple for hiking etc. I guess it's pot luck what I end up with! Thanks for the videos, John.
@@johnners911 you're welcome John. I'm in Northern Ireland (as the accent gives me away). I reckon a couple of pmr446 capable radios should fit the bill perfectly for hiking! 😎👍
@@bigwill4423 Yes me too, over near Antrim. I've just ordered a pair of these bad boys due to their small size and another uv17 ProGPS to see if I can pair with one I already have. It's a slippery slope this! Still a lot to learn!
Excellent presentation. Been thinking about buying a pair but wanted more info, which you kindly provided. Have a great Sunday from Northeast Texas US. 👍
Just bought a pair of KSUN 6 radios. The radios seem to have been disabled to be reprogrammed. You only get the 16 PMR446 channels and that is it. I couldn't find any way to add frequencies or to change the channel setting through the software. You can set the power from HIGH or LOW, and change the bandwidth from WIDE to NARROW using the buttons on the handsets. There are other setting like Squelch level, VOX on/off that can be controlled via the buttons too.
@@EduardoMartinez-ys6fb I can only say that I found it easy to program the radio with pmr446 frequencies which suited me here in the UK. I agree that the software is rather odd and quirky and probably not the best for programming the radio.
Could you please put a link to the programming software either in the description or in the response to this comment? Thanks mate. From your brother across the pond K06DFS. 🤠
Unfortunately the link that my retailer provided for the download was temporary and has now expired. However, I have managed to find a link provided by a fellow youtuber (Knoxieman) who also did a video on this radio (well worth a look btw) and he provided a download link to the software which hopefully is still working here: ua-cam.com/users/redirect?event=video_description&redir_token=QUFFLUhqbVlqcEpWakNGYjQzR2tMLUhJTHdnSGxqM0t4QXxBQ3Jtc0tuSkRNVWd2Y3Fpb2NoQnVFcHZfRmNRLWNTTDgyV2hNX280MDdsdkxLQlZBNjhjcl9meUxaLTBYWnRJZjhKZTZHZlRuMkZwY2xLLUcwR19TMjdWMlBuRGlRMVEwRm12Vl96WTJ3blloS2g2TUFOcmRRYw&q=https%3A%2F%2Fdrive.google.com%2Ffile%2Fd%2F1gfKyVyQDzSgYyXhngsq57oj5jhPpZ6m1%2Fview%3Fusp%3Dsharing&v=FH6Dl6lUKbs

@@lankielad if you have the CPS software and the two pin Kenwood type programming cable then it's just a matter of opening the software, selecting the correct com port, and then reading from the radio.
@lankielad ...do any of your cables have a "prolific" chip in them because that can cause issues with drivers as it's "end of life"? Make sure the cable is firmly pushed in at the radio end as that can cause issues too. My Baofeng cable with a ch340 chip in it worked fine for me.

Do you know of one that’s more powerful with longer distance?
