    Just purchased one off of facebook marketplace. It has a 2021 manufacturer date. 1000 dollars with a year subscription for the family. So basically paid 700 ish. Well worth that price. It’s absolutely awesome. If it breaks I’m handy so no worries there. Good luck people. Thanks for the review.

    Great, current review! My husband is 6'4" 215, so this video definitely helps to see what he would look like on it. My current treadmill is 19 years old, and is still going strong. It has a 3.0HP motor (the brand is a company that was on-line only, and is not in business anymore - Smooth 9.2HR and cost $2300 at that time) and is a very heavy (300+ lbs) solid machine, with 2.5" rollers and a 20x56" deck, but I'm very interested in the new technology/iFit. Since the X22i surpasses our current treadmill's specs, the X22i should last us a long time too. After many hours of watching your video reviews of Treadmills, I think this is the one for us!

    Extremely thorough review. Had been looking for something this complete, and this was the first one we found after looking for a couple of weeks. The most important tidbit that you included was thought it's not possible to use the touch panel to play anything outside of iFit. That was something we were worried about. But your confidence in the build and functions pushed us over the edge. Thank you!

      Good luck! We hope you enjoy it. There is a way to "hack" the console to load 3rd party apps, but it can affect the way the programming works, so we recommend doing some research before you attempt that.

    • @thejmac69
      @thejmac69 3 роки тому

      If you search around you’ll find safe ways to “hack” the Android OS to add apps (Netflix!) and modify settings that do not void warranty or corrupt iFit.
      But your existing mobile device appears to easily sit on the console so no need to “hack” it.

    I have been enjoying your reviews of all sorts of treadmills and I had my heart set to buy this treadmill until I saw several reviews of Nordic Track customer services. The customer service at Nordic Track is horrendous according to these reviewers which includes taking hours to get a hold of them on the phone, if they call for warranty work all they do is send the parts and expect the customers to look up videos and install the parts themself...etc. what are your thoughts on these issues, I know that you recommend them and in your ranking X32i was number 1 for 2021 top 10 ranking. Giving these issues shouldn’t you include category for customer service and how the company deals with warranty works?

    Thank you SO much for such a thorough review! I'm still going back and forth between this Nordictrack x22i and the Bowflex Treadmill 22. I really want that 40% incline from the Nordictrack x22i but I like the Bowflex 22's superb warranty, one-year JRNY membership and free mat. But it only has 20% incline. That x22i 40% incline just calls to me (even with the Nordictrack horrid customer service), but my "love a great deal and warranty" spirit gets pulled towards Bowflex 22 LOL

    First! Another excellent review, thanks! I really appreciate you discussing the assembly difficulty and having both a petite and larger user demo the treadmill. One question - there are videos showing these incline treadmills excessively bouncing when running on them at some speeds. Did you encounter this at all?

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  3 роки тому +3

      The x22i can get a bit bouncy over 9mph (6:40min/mile). It's not terrible - a lot of the bounciness is dependent on the weight and gait of the runner. Those with a heavy heel strike tend to cause more shaking than a mid-foot strike on the center of the deck and a strong toe-off. However, for some runners, this is an issue. For those who plan to regularly run at or faster than 9mph, we recommend the NT 2950. It doesn't shake at all.

    I bought one of these as a birthday present for my wife. Unfortunately, waiting for her birthday ran out the 30 day return clock, so we're stuck with it.
    Assembly will require two things they don't mention: A tap and die set (U.S. not metric this time), and a roll of black duct tape.
    Assembly was straightforward except for the fact that the screws don't go in the threaded holes. The factories in China run their taps well beyond their useful life, so you have to chase the holes. I've had this problem with other products, not just Nordictrack. The vertical ones are too deep for a standard tap, but those did just barely work without chasing. This may be why they're having the factory ship with screws in the holes, so at least you can get them started. But the ones for the long screws that hold the handle bars onto the machine just wouldn't work at all. Once you get past the thread problem, the rest of the assembly is easy.
    The other problem is the plastic covers that are supposed to snap around the screws you just put in to hold the uprights to the base. The little loops break off. The cover on the right side is particularly important because it protects the delicate little wires that connect the controls and screen to the motors. I like Gorilla brand tape for this.
    The wi-fi thing was a mess, more so than is typical. We had it working for a while, fortunately long enough to determine that it was completely useless and unnecessary. There's a paperclip in a hole reset that solves that problem, but leaves you with their clunky manual mode. It takes three minutes to boot up, and you have to do two screen presses to get into manual mode. Use it immediately because there's a ten minute time-out that'll shut it down and make you do the re-boot again. The screen would be nice if you could get UA-cam, Amazon, Netflix, etc. on it. But it's really just there to upsell you on their canned workouts.
    The solution to the screen thing is to just hang an iPad in front of it. The iPad is smaller than the screen, so we put a piece of cardboard between them to eliminate the glare.
    The high step up from the floor to the belt is annoying. It's quieter than the old one it replaced, but it has an intermittent squeak that seems to sync with some footsteps.

    One of my top three criteria is excellent cushioning, and the obvious give of the deck as Kacey and her much heavier colleague ran on the x22i was really impressive. I think this is the machine I've been looking for. By the way, a treadmill manufacturer I won't bother mentioning claims that its cushioning reduces the pressure on the body by 40 percent. Does NordicTrack have any way of measuring shock absorption numerically? If these numbers really exist, I wish the industry would share them and explain how they come up with them.

  • @jenn4612
    @jenn4612 2 роки тому +1

    My top concern is the cushioning. How does this X22i or even the X32i compare to the Horizon 7.8AT for cushioning & comfort on the knees? I really like the dials on the Horizon for the quick & easy speed changes and HIIT... and the 3 zone cushioning sounds brilliant... not to mention one can afford an awfully nice tablet and a a couple of new subscriptions (both some movie content and workout apps) for the price difference, but ... the cushioning! How much better is the cushioning? Is the Horizon a 7 out of 10 and the x32i a 9 out of 10 or is it only a small difference... like one's a 8.6 and the other's a 8.9??
    Also it looks like Nordic Track has a new console/design for the x22i in 2022. Do you know if the button placement & accessibility is still better than the X32i ... or did they move that bar so it's now in the way? It's hard to tell from the pics on their website. Thanks for the great reviews. They have been super helpful.

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru
      @TreadmillReviewGuru  2 роки тому +1

      Hey, thanks for watching and following along, great questions! The Horizon 7.8 AT is a great treadmill and the speed adjustments are some of the fastest in the industry which is what makes it such a great machine for HIIT training. The cushioning however is not quite as good as the incline trainers from NordicTrack. if we had to put a number rating on it then the Horizon cushioning would probably be about a 7.5-8/10 and the 2021 version of the X22i would probably be around a 9, it would be a perfect 10 but for some people the cushioning can get a little bouncy for them. The Horizon has good cushioning, it's just quite a bit firmer than the incline trainers.
      We haven't tested the new 2022 X22i yet but we have it on the way to our studio. We're hoping it will show up in the next few weeks so we can start testing. From the photos on their website it seems that the console is still very functional and that the buttons are in a reachable position. From the photos I would definitely say that the console is more functional than the 2021 X32i. Let me know if you have any other questions, thanks!

    • @TreadmillReviewGuru

      Unfortunately, customers that have a positive experience are less likely to go online and leave a review. As such, most reviews of fitness equipment online are those who want to complain about their negative experience. We've had issues with several machines from different manufacturers and find that, in general, most companies do their best to service/repair equipment as needed. We recommend carefully evaluating treadmills from a 3rd party seller (Amazon) or those that have a severely limited warranty (less than one year).

    Thanks for the reviews. This has helped me narrow down my search. I'm now debating between the x22i and the 2450. The incline doesn't make a difference to me. What are your thoughts between the two machines?
    I'm looking for something I can use a couple of times a week when I can't get to the gym. I don't want to spend a ton of money but want something that is sturdy and reacts quickly between speed as I do quite a bit of interval work. The x22i may feel very bouncy compared to a Woodway. If you like the sturdy feel of a slat treadmill, you'll probably prefer the 2450. While the x22i is excellent for cushioning, the 2450 is better if you plan to run regularly or at speeds faster than 7mph.

I don't run fast enough for it to be an issue for me, but other users have commented on it, so we want potential buyers to be aware. If you are a trail runner, the x22i would be an excellent option due to the higher incline and extensive cushioning. The 2950 is our recommended treadmill for speed and distance runners because it has a slightly larger motor and tread deck that is specifically designed for running. The 2950 has much less cushioning than the x22i.

    Worst treadmill ever bc:
    1A. Calibration is typically way off as far as distance. One mile is in actuality 0.8 or so, it depends on your speed. It over estimates every run, more significantly the longer you go.
    1B. Let's say you're at 4 mph on the machine, but of course it's really 3 mph, periodically this damn thing will adjust to 4 mph nearly knocking you down. Same is true at 6, 7, or 8 mph...
    1C. It's calorie prediction is completely broken. They have no understanding how incline effects calorie burn. It over exaggerates everything, which would be pretty demoralizing to someone who thinks they are doing good. I know better.
    2. Touch screen requires ifit, which is ridiculously expensive. Why they don't have UA-cam or Spotify or anything is absolutely ridiculous. When I had the subscription, everything seemed extremely dumb and useless.
    3. I thought you could map a route and it would show you in Google maps you running down the road. It does not do this in any way
    4. The red emergency button doesn't just pause the machine, it erases all data too. So if you accidentally touch it, F that exercise, there's no clue what you did. I recommend gorilla taping over it.
    5. No place for phone. If you want to watch UA-cam, nope, no shelf for the phone, they do this on purpose.
    6. No USB port, seriously, not one, anywhere.
    7. Fan isn't very good. It will absolutely do nothing in a garage at summer. I have mine inside and I still gotta turn the AC down.
    8. After finishing a run, it takes several minutes before you can do another. This machines interface is extremely sluggish (yes, my internet is extremely good)
    9. Worst feature by far is that this thing is freaking enormous. I can't even give it away for free. It's so big and heavy I'm just stuck with it upstairs. Also I'm keeping it to punish myself for buying a $5000 chunk of crap. One day, maybe in a year, I will slowly dismantle this demon treadmill and throw the pieces off a bridge. I hate this treadmill.

    Ugh I would kill for someone who would not shill the iFit and tell us if we can bypass it and still use the monitor. Subscriptions suck! I pay $3K for a treadmill I sure as hell don't want to have to pay a monthly fee for all of eternity to use it! 💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸💸

      You don't have to pay for iFIT, but you are locked into the iFIT app on the tablet. If you don't pay for iFIT then you can access manual mode on this treadmill and all other iFIT enabled treadmills. You also get one free onboard iFIT workout, but you can't access any other apps or anything like that. Hope this helps.
