Simple but useful video. Thanks. Interesting that you don't need the Yaw channel on to engage the route mode. In the keybindings is a speed hold channel but I don't see any buttons for it. I do see two sets of buttons labled. "altimeter" one under the "route" button and the second on the bottom right next to the yaw/roll/pitch channels. Maybe a mislabel?

I screwed this up last night by forgetting to activate the role stabilization and prevented the aircraft from turning

At times I found the Route mode not working, even when I'm flying manually at the heading I want, it'll slowly drift and not maintain the set course.
Or when I'm off by 10 degrees, it won't make an attempt to turn towards the set heading.
Do I need to enable Route Mode first, then the Altitude hold? Or is it something else I'm missing?
EDIT: I kept my airspeed around 250. Also I haven't played since the July 14th update, not sure if the update fixed the issue.

I have noticed that for unknown reasons sometimes it engages and then a few seconds later disengages, no manual means we do not know what are the parameters for normal operation for this

@@HavocCompanyClan For me, it would stay engaged. However it’s like the yaw dampener doesn’t want to help the Route mode. Even when the yaw dampener is on, the vertical lines are not moving. I see the roll dampener lines moving however

Late reply. It turns off becuase you exceed the +\- 7 degree pitch limit or +\- 25 degree bank limit for doppler system.
One reason it may not hold the exact heading you tell it to is that it’s not trying to point the nose, it takes the drift indication from the doppler and moves the nose that even if your nose is pointed left or right your ground track is along the set course.
Yaw dampener/heading hold can fight this but you’re probably wasn’t working becuase heading hold functions turn off after 18% rudder input
