You’re not wrong, this game as absolutely horrible. And I remember being so hyped for it to come out only to rush home with it, put it in the PS2, and figure out it was complete garbage. I pre-ordered it too.
007 Goldeneye on Nintendo 64 also has a faster running speed if you move diagonal, so from what I can gather you're saying 25 To Life is the spiritual successor to Goldeneye, nice!
So many retro games had that lol. I think you'd move slightly faster by rolling in ocarina of time. I can't help but do it in games. I like the vids of speedrunners staring at the ground and running diagonal in goldeneye.
The gun being cocked in the beginning scene your talking about is there because he must already have one in the chamber meaning he only has to bring the arm down to be able to shoot he did it with his left hand that is holding the gun😅

My issue is it tried to use urban street culture without having the spine to actually say anything. It's not the worst thing in the world if you just wanna make a game within a gangster setting, but it's very shallow. Every character is an unlikable loser, so you're just rooting for them all to fail by the end. Def Jam, GTA:SA, Marc eckos getting up, etc, are examples of good-great games that don't feel like they're written by a suburban teenager. Or it could've saved itself by being even more ridiculous and becoming a satire or critique of gangster culture.
For the time the multiplayer for this game was very fun people werent meta chasers you only had so much info on the internet people were just worse at games which made the multiplayer decently easy to play and fun

Haha yes. People get mad but when I say I hate a game or a game sucks in a video, there's still a part of me that's having fun. I enjoy playing and exploring bad games. There's always something interesting about them to talk about. You can like bad things, it's ok. Lol
I just remember that 40 out of 43 games on my PS2, one of them was 25 To Life, its not good but me and my brother enjoyed the game
